"Babe?"

Being a light sleeper, I awoke to the sound of soft shuffling movements. I put my arm out in front of me feeling around, but her side of the bed was left empty. I looked around in confusion as it was still nearly pitch black in the room. Looking at the alarm clock behind me, the bright red colors flashed 2:45 a.m. As my  eyes adjusted to the darkness, I was finally able to spot her silhouette sitting in the chair near the window.

"Babe, what are you doing? Is everything alright?" I asked, tiredness within my voice.

Eunseo flinched in suprise as she looked over at her girlfriend who was now sitting up in the bed. "Did I wake you? I'm sorry...I couldn't sleep." she said quietly.

"Come over here" I pouted, not that she could see the look on my face.

She agreed instantly as she stood up and came back to lay down in the bed, with her eyes focusing upon the ceiling.

I scooted myself back down the bed and put my arm across her stomach, pulling her closer and nuzzled my nose into her neck. "Are you sure everything is alright? You know you could talk to me, right? I mean....you'd let me know if something was bothering you...right Eunseo?"

I felt her jaw slightly clench as she swallowed before she shifted her body towards me and wrapped her arms around my body. "Everything is fine, I promise Wona." She said before kissing the crown of my head. "Lets go back to bed now hmm?"

"Mmm. I love you Eunseo." I said as my body finally succumbed to sleep.

"I love you too my love. I love you too.."

When morning came around, I awoke to my source of warmth missing once again. "Eun...?" Quickly pulling myself out of the bed, I left the room and walked out towards the living room. I leaned against the wall, quietly observing her slender figure as she held onto her coffe mug, gazing out the window. My heart ached as I watched her. Her once bright eyes have somehow become empty and sad, she continues to tell me she's fine but I know her well enough to know otherwise. I slowly tip-toed my way towards her, slipping my arms around her waist as I rested my chin on her shoulder.

"Good Morning." I smiled as I held onto her tightly, fully embracing her warmth.

One of her hands left the warmth of her mug as she placed it over my hand, smiling as she turned her head to kiss me on the cheek, "Good Morning Wona."

I knew she was forcing herself to smile. It's hurting me to see her like this, but if I push her too much she'll shut down and refuse to talk about it. It's been six years that we've been together, and this is the first time I've seen her like this.

A week has passed by and things have yet to get any better, in fact...things are getting worse. She's been avoiding eye contact, and coming home late from work...it's as if she's purposely ignoring me. We've had our fair share of ups and downs, but not like this, not in this manner. It's almost suffocating just being in the same room together.

"Eunseo..." I called out to her as she finished getting dressed for work. "...can we talk?"

She came walking out of the bathroom, buttoning up the last two buttons of  her sky blue blouse looking a little agitated, "Later okay? I got to go, I'm running late." With that said, she was out the door.

I Love You... I said dejectedly in a room with no ears.

12:30 a.m.

The sound of the key could be heard slowly turning the lock. The door quietly crept open and closed in the same manner.

"Have you eaten?" I spoke softly, but loud enough to carry through the darkness of our home.

I saw her body momentarily tense up before her shoulders dropped. She reached her arm out, hesitantly flipping the lights on as she turned to look at me. "Why are you still up? You should be sleeping." Her voice sounded tired...so so tired.

"Is it me?" I asked, my voice at a whisper.

"What?" her brows furrowed, still standing in place.

"Did I do something wrong?" I stood up from the kitchen table, pushing the chair in while using the back of it to keep myself from falling. "Do  you...do you not love me anymore?" My voice shook as I spit those words out. My head was spinning and I was beginning to feel like I wanted to throw up.

A single tear danced its way down Eunseo's cheek as her clammy hands clenched shut. "Why would..."
