Daiki stared at Chinen's apartment door in front of him with his hands tucked into his pockets. His heart was racing quickly and he took a couple of breaths in an attempt to slow it down. As soon as he was able to pull himself together, he knocked on the door and Chinen opened it a brief moment after.
"For someone who's always the last to arrive, you're here insanely early." Chinen answered.
"Happy Birthday, Chii. Oh, I almost forgot..." Daiki paused, reaching into his bookbag and pulling out a small present before handing it to him.
"Thanks, you didn't have to." The latter answered, inviting him into his place. Daiki stepped in, politely taking his shoes off before proceeding towards the living room. RIght when he entered, his eyes fell onto a picture Chinen had on the tv stand. It was JUMP celebrating their first anniversary. Instantly, he picked it up and smiled at it as he remembered the times where no drama was involved.
"Daiki, are you okay?" Chinen asked, noticing the older boy's solemn expression.
The latter gently placed the picture frame back down before taking a seat on the sofa. "I just broke up with Mayu."
"Eh?!" Chinen uttered, his mind searching for what to say. "I thought things were going well with her."
Daiki shook his head. "There's also something else I have to tell you." He added, taking a deep breath before continuing. "Back in highschool... After Amu and I started dating, you told me that you liked her because it didn't feel right keeping that secret to yourself."
"Yeah I remember."
"This time, I think it's my turn. After everything you've done for me, Chii.. it doesn't feel right to hide the fact that I-"
"That you still love Amu." Chinen said, completing his sentence.
The latter nodded. "Yeah."
Chinen took the seat next to him and lowered his eyes. "I really appreciate you telling me but I have no intentions of giving her up."
"I know, I wasn't expecting you to."
"-But I have no intentions of holding her back either. All I want for her is happiness and if she's happier with you then be it but that's something she'll choose for herself." Chinen said. After a couple of seconds in silence, he sighed loudly and patted his childhood friend on the back.
"ANYWAYS, enough about relationships. Are you gonna give me a hand with setting up the party?"
"Ehhhhhh?" Daiki whined, laying on the sofa as soon as Chinen got up.
"Parties don't set themselves up, Daiki." The latter grinned, throwing him a tablecloth. "Besides, Amu and Rio are coming over later. I want to give them the best reunion celebration as possible."

After the two had finished setting up, Daiki excused himself to take a breather outside. He zipped his hoodie up, threw on a mask, and strolled towards the river. The sun was soon about to set and the rest of JUMP were on their way to Chinen's apartment. Daiki sighed as he leaned against the rails, looking over at the beautiful reflection of the evening sun on the water's surface.
"You know, your disguise isn't that convincing."
Daiki glanced at the person next to him and smiled, shaking his head. "And you think your's is?" He commented, eyeing Ryosuke's hat.
"Didn't say mine was." Ryosuke replied, leaning on the railing next to him. "So how did it go?"
"Fine now after comforting Mayu for a good hour. She didn't handle it well and she kinda..." Daiki paused, pulling his phone out of his bookbag and showing it to the latter.
"Well, it looks like it's just your screen that's broken."
"My screen and Mayu's heart. Fortunately for me, my screen could easily be repaired tomorrow." The older boy said before turning to his best friend. "How did things go with you?"
Ryosuke chuckled and shook his head. He turned to Daiki and undid one side of his mask. "Satoko was under the impression that I was cheating on her before I was able to explain myself."
"RYO!" The latter exclaimed as Ryosuke whacked him on the arm to lower his voice.
"Dude! She slapped you?!" Daiki concluded in a softer tone as the younger boy readjusted his mask.
"Yeah. I'm planning to tell the rest of JUMP that I've ended things with her but I really don't feel like going into the details. if anyone asks about the mask, just tell them that I'm still not feeling well."
"I don't know how you're planning to get away with that. Rio is going to be there, you know."
"Eh- Are you serious?"
"Chinen told me he invited her. She's Amu's best friend afterall."
"..Maybe I shouldn't go." Ryosuke nervously suggested, tilting his head to the side as Daiki eyed him.
"Ryo, there's no way you're going to leave me there with the girls. You're going."
"BUT-"
"We're gonna be late! Lets go." Daiki said, dragging his friend by the arm.
The two walked over to Chinen's place and stood in front of the door in disbelief after hearing the amount of chatter and music coming from the inside.
"Mou.. why are they so loud?" Daiki whined, ringing the doorbell. Meanwhile, Ryosuke stared at Daiki with a dumbfounded expression and sighed.
"Seriously, Daiki- you think they're loud? Have you heard yourself?"
Before Daiki was able to say anything back, the door opened and Hikaru rolled his eyes. "You two are late again!!" He exclaimed as Daiki stood speechless.
"BUT I HELPED SET UP...!"
"Just keep walking." Ryosuke nudged the latter, closing the door behind them. Immediately, his eyes scanned the room for one specific person and he quietly sighed in relief after realizing that Rio wasn't here yet. Only Amu was present and that gave Ryosuke a bit more time to collect his thoughts for when she arrives later.
"Happy Birthday Chii." Ryosuke said to Chinen, handing him a small gift.
Chinen rolled his eyes playfully but thankfully accepted it before noticing the latter's mask. "By the way, how are you feeling? You scared the crap out of all of us yesterday."
Everyone was already staring at Ryosuke for an explanation. He nodded and attempted to fake his best "tired" voice. "A lot better than yesterday but I still have to take it easy. I'm not fully well yet."
Towards the back of the room, he noticed that Daiki had somehow managed to sneak his way around the group. He saw him whisper something to Amu before the two of them stepped out into the guest room. If it weren't for the music blasting in the background and the number of people in the room, they would've surely been noticed.
"There's one thing I have to tell all of you th
