Oil and Fire
A Broken Love StoryMonday evening finally came around and Rio was exhausted. She opened the door to her apartment, not realizing that her roommate was already home with an significant other.
"Hey Rio, how was the exam?" Chinen asked, well aware of how much she had studied for this test.
Rio rolled her eyes and placed her coat on a nearby chair. "It went so bad..."
"Eh? Why?" He asked as he and Amu shifted their full attention towards her.
"Did Amu tell you what happened on Saturday?"
"Yeah"
"Okay good so you already know.." Rio sighed, collapsing onto the chair in front of them. "I couldn't stop thinking about him- even during the exam! Why am I thinking about him?!" She asked before pointing at Chinen. "Don't tell him about any of this, okay?"
"Of course I won't." He assured her. "Nevertheless, I'm sure you passed."
"I better! I spent years studying for this exam. If I don't pass it, I'm going to hunt that man down..." She threatened, walking into her bedroom. As soon as she closed the door behind her, Amu glanced at Chinen.
"Hey Chii..." Amu began, almost in a whisper. "Do you know anything about recent incidents such as threats or suspicious activities in the entertainment industry?"
The latter blinked several times, staring at his girlfriend in confusion. "Not that I've heard of- Why?"
"It's just that Ryosuke seemed to be really concerned about it. He asked us if we received any and when Rio asked why, he said that it's been happening recently."
"Well I don't think there's anything you should be afraid of." He assured her. "Usually when these things occur, the management would make an announcement to let all of us know."
"I just think you should keep an eye out on Ryosuke. He seems to be really on edge about something."
"Yeah, I will. Thanks for the heads up." Chinen said before raising an eyebrow. "Seems like you forgave him already." He chuckled and Amu immediately shook his head.
"Of course not- but just because I didn't forgive him doesn't mean I shouldn't look out for others." She explained as he pulled her closer.
"You have a huge heart, Amu." He said, leaning in to place a kiss on her cheek. However, just as he was about to do so, the sound of a camera shutter filled the room and the couple immediately directed their attention to the source.
"Crap.. I keep forgeting to mute the sound." Rio giggled nervously, staring at her phone. "But at least I got a cute picture!"
Amu shook her head as nostalgic moments began to fill her mind. She remembered how excited Rio was when Amu started dating Daiki. The older girl would follow them around everywhere, taking pictures of them whenever she had the chance. It's been three years since Rio had been able to exercise her 'stalking' hobby. Seeing her this happy again made Amu smile.
"Rio-chan, did you eat yet?" Amu asked, catching her attention. "Chii and I were about to go have dinner. Want to come along?"
"Thanks but I'm so exhausted. I'm planning to just heat something up and call it a night. You two enjoy yourselves."
"Are you sure?" Chinen asked.
"Definitely."
"Oh ok... Then I guess I'll see you later then?" Amu waved to her. "Get some rest!"
The two of them threw their coats on and made their way down the block. The night was clear and the termperature was crisp and cool. It was the perfect November night and Chinen wanted to take an advantage of this. Instantly, he reached out for Amu's hand and intertwined his fingers with hers.
Amu slightly jumped at his sudden touch but smiled as soon as she noticed his gesture. "Thanks Chii, for always being there for me. I'm just sorry that I took this long to realize it."
Chinen shook his head. "I'm willing to wait as long as it takes."
The two had plans to meet at the restaurant about eleven blocks away. Waiting for the bus would take longer so they decided to walk instead. Half way through their stroll, Chinen passed the J.E. building and realized that he left something in there.
"Damn, I left my script for tomorrow in JUMP's lounge. I'm gonna run in and get it." He told her. "Do you want to come in?"
"I think I'll stay outside." Amu said, not risking the chance of bumping into the two distinct people again. "I'll wait for you at the bookstore across the street."
"Okay, I'll be quick."
After showing his ID to the night security guard, Chinen took the elevator up to the fifth floor. Not knowing that there were still people in the room, he jumped when he noticed Ryosuke and Daiki talking in the loun
