Perfect Imperfect
A Broken Love Story-- One Week Later --
"Rio-chan, do you have an extra box to spare?" Amu asked, peering into her best friend's room from the hallway.
"Are you kidding? I bought so many, I can even open up my own box business..." Rio replied then pointed at the corner of her room where 15 flat boxes piled up against each other. "Take, take, take!" She insisted while taping close her last box.
The younger girl thanked her then proceeded towards the mountain of cardboard. "You've finished packing so quickly..." She replied seeing how empty her room was.
"Maa~ You should've asked Dai-chan to come over and help instead of going out to each desserts every day for the past week" Rio playfully suggested. "Do you need any help?"
"I think I should be alright. I'm almost done as well." Amu answered but paused when the doorbell rang.
"I got it." Rio said, running past Amu to unlock the door. "You go finish packing!" It was only 8 in the morning and the two familiar boys were already waiting in front of their apartment.
"Both of you are so early!" She exclaimed, stepping aside to let them in. "I thought we were supposed to meet at 9."
"Ryosuke just couldn't wait to see you." Daiki said, stepping in first.
"Hey! We decided on arriving early together!" Ryosuke protested, pulling the older boy back by his hood. "Dai-chan, there's no point in trying to act cool."
"I'm not even trying to act cool! This is how I usually am. In that case, are you implying that I'm cool?"
"I think you need to re-think your definition of that term." The latter said, closing the door behind him. He then pushed Daiki towards the living room and then pointed at his socks. "If cool is wearing penguin socks then you need to re-evaluate your vocabulary."
"But Ryosuke- do you think you're cool?"
"It's not that I 'think'. I know for a fact that I am." The boy replied, smirking at his own proudness.
"Then if mumbling Rio's name in your sleep is cool then I don't see how these socks don't meet the criteria!"
"BUT THAT'S DIFFERENT!"
Rio stood in disbelief, rolling her eyes as she watched them banter on as usual. At that same time, Amu finally had finally finished packing and she stepped out of the room just in time to witness their daily argument.
"Why don't we just ask Rio and Amu?" Ryosuke suggested, now glancing back and forth between the both of them.
"That's fine with me." Daiki answered, hoping that his girlfriend would pick him. Who do you two think is cool?" However, his hopes insatnly vanished when Amu smiled and answered with a name completely opposite of his.
"I think Chinen Yuri is pretty cool." She playfully joked, glancing over to her best friend. Rio played along and offered her own alternate answer.
"Oh, now that I think about it, Kei has actually been piquing my interest recently!" Rio answered as the two guys sulked in disappointment.
Meanwhile, Rio and Amu exchanged glances once more and smiled, cherishing this moment of the four of them together. It had only been a week since news of Satoko and Mayu reached all over Japn. Johnny's and Associates were no longer receiving the full blame because everything had appeared to be orchestrated by these girls.
On a positive note, there had been protests amongst fans for the management to lighten rules and regulations amongst it's idols. Members were officially allowed to date and everyone had become obsessed with the fan terms, "YamaRio" and "AmuDai".
Hey! Say! JUMP's manager and his assistant had also stepped down and the company offered to purchase permanent apartments for Ryosuke and Daiki as an apology gift. Since Rio and Amu's apartment lease was ending, they decided to officially move in with their boyfriends and today marked the first day to new beginnings.
"MOU~ Stop sulking, we're just kidding!" Amu finally assured the two after seeing how disappointed they had become. She immedia
