Reunion
A Broken Love StoryA/N: Another heads up! It's a pretty long chapter! :)
Ryosuke woke up the next day with a killer migrane and was thankful that his weekend was schedule free. He groaned as he sat up from bed, reaching over for the glass of water that was placed on his night stand. The morning light crept through the curtains and he winced even more as soon as Satoko pulled it open.
"Morning, sleepyhead." She smiled, placing a kiss on his lips.
"Morning, hun." Ryosuke replied, throwing the blanket covers off him. He was no longer in the same clothes he wore yesterday. Immediately, he tried to remember what happened in the moments after he left Daiki's apartment but frowned when nothing came to him. "What happened last night?" He asked, watching Satoko's smile disappear.
"Jeez, Ryosuke. You were so drunk that you out in the middle of the park. If it weren't for Chinen who found you and brought you here then you would've been all over the news."
"Chinen?"
"You don't even remember a thing!" Satoko sighed, throwing a cardigan on. "I can't talk right now. I'm late for a photoshoot but I'll see you later okay? Make sure to drink plenty of water."
"Thanks, I will."
As soon as he heard the sound of the front door closing, Ryosuke rolled himself out of bed and swallowed a couple of pain-killers. For some reason, he remembered meeting Rio at a park in the middle of the night. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and brushed the memory aside. 'It has to be a dream.' He convinced himself.
Ryosuke wanted to ask Chinen for more details about what happened the night before so he searched for his phone. However, his heart began to race when he realized that it was missing. He even searched his bag and clothes from last night but it was nowhere to be found.
Immediately, he fetched his old spare phone and waited for it turn on. Ryosuke was obviously prepared for moments like these. Afterall, this wasn't the first time he had lost his phone. As soon as he rebooted his spare, he quickly opened the location tracker and stared at the address of his primary phone in confusion.
"Where is this place?"
Not wanting to waste another second, he called Chinen using his Wi-Fi but frowned when he didn't pick up. He then decided to take a bet and call Daiki next. Instantly, he felt relieved when he heard the familiar voice on the other end of the line.
"Why are you calling me on the LINE app?" Daiki greeted him.
"I lost my phone yesterday and the location tracker says it's at some random apartment address." Ryosuke explained.
"Not much of a surprise, actually." Daiki chuckled. "You seem to always be losing things."
"Well if you want a surprise, then come with me. I don't remember anything from last night so the person who has my phone might end up being a serial killer.
"How do you not remember anything? We're you drunk?"
"Maybe I had a little too much to drink.." Ryosuke nervously chuckled as Daiki rolled his eyes.
"Fine, I'll come along. But you're buying me a hamburger with cheese after."
"So a cheeseburger?"
"No, a hamburger with cheese."
"Whatever floats your boat, Daiki."
The two arranged to meet at the train station near the address and when Ryosuke saw Daiki's complexion, he laughed and pointed at his hair.
"You look like you just rolled out of bed. What happened to you?" He asked, noticing how disheveled his friend was.
"Mayu and I got into a small argument last night." Daiki explained, sighing as he reached into his bag for a cap. "I didn't even make it to the bed. I slept on the couch the entire night."
"Are the both of you doing okay? It seems like you've been having a ton of relationship issues recently..."
"She's just stressed. The amount of reporters showing up to her movie sets aren't really helping either." Daiki explained before taking a good look at the younger guy. "What about you? Do you really not remember anything that happened last night?"
Ryosuke shook his head as the two of them began to proceed towards the address on his spare phone. "The only thing I remember is seeing Rio at the park in the middle of the night but I can't tell if that was a dream or not."
"Rio? You mean, Yamada Rio?"
"Seriously Daiki, is there anyone else you know with the same as her?"
"Well you do have a point..." Daiki chuckled. "Anyways, I'm pretty sure you meeting Rio was just a dream. I mean, we did talk about her yesterday."
Ryosuke nodded, his shoulders dropping in the process. "I see.."
"Don't tell me, you actually wanted to see her?"
"Well, don't you want to see Amu?" Ryosuke asked, his tone becoming serious. "We may have moved on but isn't there a part of you that wonders how they're doing right now?"
Daiki remained silent for the next few minutes. He didn't want to answer Ryosuke's question because he was afraid of admitting to what might be his real feelings. Thankfully, the two had finally approached the building and he took this opportunity to change the subject. "I don't think we've thought this through. How do we know which apartment it is?"
"It's 7A." Ryosuke replied, grinning at his own intelligence. "The tracker I use is much more complex than the usual ones."
"Yeah, I can see that." Daiki commented, glancing over at Ryosuke's phone. Technology always seems to find a way to amaze him.
"There's an elevator here." Ryosuke pointed out. After pressing the 7 button in the lift, the two jerked backwards at the sudden movement of the machine.
Daiki glanced at the flickering elevator lights above them and shrugged. "I guess we're gonna die today."
"At least we'll die together." Ryosuke assured him, stepping out first after the doors had opened. He took the lead as they searched for the apartment number.
The latter trailed behind him, taking in the smallest details of the building. "I don't see how dying together makes it any better." Daiki chuckled but stopped when he noticed that Ryosuke had stopped in front of an apartment. "Is this one?" He added.
"Yeah, uhh... So do you still want to see her?" Ryosuke repeated his question from before, his eyes fixed on the nameplate on the wall.
"What do you me-" Daiki began but answered his own question as soon as he noticed what Ryosuke became so worried about.
7A- Yamada Rio and Kitagawa Amu
"Ryosuke, what the heck did you do last night?!" Daiki exclaimed in concern. "Did you waltz over to her apartment when you were drunk or something?"
"I didn't even know her address!"
"Well now you do..." Daiki said in disbelief. "... And now you know Amu's too."
