The Restaurant

"Wow jinjja!, I can't believe this! Come on, we have to report this to the police!" Sakura shouted as she slammed the dining table. That was the seventh time she did that that night. The four of them were sitting together to have a late dinner in the kitchen. The restaurant had closed so Mr. Kim decided to cook korean style spaghetti with some of the leftover from the restaurant. They were all craving for korean food since the only food they were looking all day were italian.

"There's no need unnie, I'm okay now," Minjoo said, reassuring Sakura for the who knows how many times already since the japanese girl had been raging after she knew what happened to Minjoo at the restaurant earlier. "I'm just thankful that Yujin was there, or else I didn't know what would happen," she added, shifting her eyes to look at Yujin who looked very unbothered by the hot-headed Sakura. "I know I have said this so many times already, but thank you so much Yujin-ah, I really appreciate what you did," Mr. Kim said as he took another bite of his dinner. "My daughter must be really scared, I'm so sorry dear," he added as he held Minjoo's hand which earned another reassuring smile from the pretty brunette. Meanwhile, Sakura let out a heavy sigh as she tried to control her anger. "To think about it again, why didn't you call the police Yujin?" she asked, making Yujin looked up from her food and stared at Sakura who was sitting in front of her. "I had to make the right decision," the tall girl answered shortly after a moment. She continued to take another bite of her dinner which made the japenese girl even more furious. "So the right decision is to let the erts get away easily?" Sakura countered with sarcasm dropping from her voice, making Minjoo and Mr. Kim who both couldn't handle confrontation stared at the two with anxiety. "Unnie, ple-" "Aniya Minjoo-ah! This is not right! Those erts should at least apologize to you!" the japenese girl exclaimed, glaring at Yujin. Yujin just sighed as she put down her chopsticks on the table. "Yes, I agree with you. Those old men should at least apologize to her," Yujin replied, shifting her eyes to Minjoo for some seconds before staring back at Sakura dead in the eyes. "But the most important thing is always the victim's well-being, so instead of chasing those erts I think it's best to ran upstairs and-" the tall girl stopped for a second as she remembered that what happened after the little talk with Minjoo. She sighed heavily. "And make sure that the she's okay, so can we drop this already?" she continued and took the last bite of her dinner before standing up and made her way to the sink to wash her empty plate. "Geez, I should've been there to give those erts some lessons," Sakura grunted, making Minjoo took a deep breath and sighed. It seemed like she just had to let Sakura unleash her anger. It's the best way to calm the japaneses girl down anyway. "Anyway Sakura-chan, are you sure you don't want to just sleep over? It's already late," Mr. Kim asked, changing the subject. Sakura shook her head as she waved her hand. "It's okay samcheon, I had to pack up anyway," she answered. "Oh right, I forgot that you'll be leaving to Busan for your cousin's wedding! Come on unnie, I'll help you pack!" Minjoo exclaimed as she stood up from her seat, but then Sakura grabbed her wrist. "Aniya, you must be tired, plus okaa-san will be there to help me," Sakura said as she lift up her plate and was ready to head to the sink when Mr. Kim stopped her. "Just leave it there Saku-chan, come on, samcheon will walk you home," Sakura just nodded in returen and bid Minjoo goodbye. "Take care while I'm not here minminnie!" she said as she hugged her bestfriend tightly, making the brunette chuckled. "Bye bye unnie! Call me when you land!" she replied, as she hugged the japanese girl back. Sakura just nodded in return. Sakura left the kitchen with Mr. Kim after she parted the hug, leaving Minjoo and Yujin in the kitchen alone. Minjoo cleaned up the table and bring the empty dishes to the sink where Yujin was washing her hands. She waited behind the tall girl to wash the remaining dishes but she jumped a little when Yujin turned her body around and took the empty dishes from her hands. "My hands are already wet," Yujin said shortly before Minjoo could say anything. Seeing how Yujin was pretty stubborn with it, the pretty brunette just nodded and turn around to go upstairs but she stopped walking as she remembered something. "Ahn Yujin.." she called out, and was flustered when she saw Yujin actually turn around to face her. Usually the tall girl would never bother to look at Minjoo whenever she called her. "Uhm, good night," Minjoo said, waving her hand to the tall girl. She quickly made her way upstairs without waiting for Yujin's response. Yujin on the other hand, just stared at Minjoo's back until it disappeared through the stairs. She sighed. There are already so many things on her mind at the time, and it's better not to add another one. ........ Minjoo just finished her shift early and was ready to head home to help with the restaurant. Since Sakura was already in Busan, she needed to work extra. So she walked as fast as she could so that she will be home faster. Just when she was about to turn into the intersection, the brunette bumped into a familiar tall figure. "Can't you walk properly?" the person asked with a cold and annoyed demeanor, which reminded the brunette of someone. "Oh? Yujin? Where are you going?" Minjoo asked the minute she realized it was indeed Yujin who she just bumped over. "Somewhere, tell ahjussi I'll be late," she replied carelessly and walk away. Minjoo let out a deep sigh. Yujin had went back to her cold, emotionless self this morning. Although she was disappointed, Minjoo had decided that she would not back off like she did before. She will push herself to get to know the chef more. To be honest, before last night incident, Minjoo even thought that Yujin was just trying to shut her up with the spaghetti meatball talk so she grew to dislike her a bit. In addition to that, she even treat her like a shadow after. But what she did last night was big enough to make the brunette certain that Yujin is probably one of the nicest individuals she ever met. So she had told herself that she would stick around like a dog until Yujin will completely warm up to her. Minjoo is convinced that the tall girl might be really a great person behind that cold and sometimes rude personality. So the brunette ran to catch Yujin up and walked beside the tall girl. "Aren't we suppose to open the restaur-" "It's the public holiday," Yujin cut the brunette off before she could finish her question. "Oh, right, I forgot. So where are you going?" she asked again. She waited for an answer but Yujin didn't say a word. "You're not the type who has friends, so could it be that you're eating out alone?" she added. If being annoying is the only way of getting Yujin to talk to her, then she will be the most annoying person on earth. She might be soft and a little bit of a pushover, but no one had ever beat her in persistency. Minjoo grinned when Yujin finally turned to look at her. "I need to go to where I was working before," she answered, which made the brunette frowned. "Why are you going to a pojangmacha at this hour?" she asked again, making Yujin sighed in what looked like frustration. "Not there, but the previous one. Now go home," she replied shortly, signaling Minjoo to leave her alone. Minjoo on the other hand was excited to hear that. "Can I come?" she rushed and stood in front of Yujin. She stared at the tall girl with her puppy eyes which no one could ever say no to. "Please??" she pouted. Yujin looked at her for a couple of seconds to the point that Minjoo thought she would let her come. "No." was Yujin's only answer before shoving Minjoo out of her way. Not giving up, Minjoo grabbed Yujin's arm and started to whine. If the tall girl is intending to be persistently pushing her away, she will be even more persistent to cling around her. "Come onnnn, I also need some refreshing time, you know I worked really hard these days in the restaurant and also in the convenience store and I feel like I'm really weak spiritually so-" "No." "Please please please, you said I'm great to be around last nigh-" "Fine! But you need to shut up." Yujin rolled her eyes as she let out a heavy sigh. It seemed like it was better for her to give up so that the brunette wouldn't annoy the hell out of her anymore. Minjoo just smiled victoriously and walked beside the tallgirl. She got to admit though, Yujin walked really fast to the point that it was hard for her to catch up since she's the most unathletic girl in Seoul. That what was Sakura told her when Minjoo would pass out after a 5-minute jog. "So are we going there by bus or-" Minjoo couldn't continue her question as Yujin immediately stared at her dead in the eyes without saying anything, but she knew that the latter was telling her to shut up. "Okay okay, I'm not going to say another word," she replied as she made the sealing mouth gesture. ..... After taking a bus to cheongdam-dong, which is widely known for its expensive fashion street and luxurious properties for high income individuals, Minjoo and Yujin had arrived in a very modern looking bistro. One look at the restaurant from the outside, the brunette knew it that it's not her kind of place to eat. She even got more eerie when she saw the interior of the restaurant once they came in. It looks like the place is designed for people who had just finished shopping in the designer brand stores surrounding the restaurang to have a really expensive meal. "Welco- Oh? Chef?" a waiter who was going to greet the two exclaimed excitedly, making the other waiters nearby look over. "Long time no see! How are you doing?" he added. "I'm good," she replied shortly, making Minjoo shook her head. She had come into a conclusion that Yujin is not just rude in their restaurant, she's basically rude everywhere. How could she treat someone older with that attitude? Minjoo then looked around and saw that there were not so many people dining in the restaurant. She took a clearer look and immediately realized that she was a little underdressed. These people were wearing shiny clothes as if they were in a cocktail party when the fact is that they were just there to eat their lunch. She then looked down to see that she was wearing a short jeans skirt and a loose plain grey t-shirt. It was really hot outside and there was actually no reason for her to get all dolled up when she was only going to be in the convenience store. But then she looked over to Yujin and realized that the tall girl was just as underdressed as her. She was wearing her usual white t-shirt underneath her blue plaid shirt and a worn out blue jeans and a converse shoes. The typical Yujin look. Well at least she's not alone, Minjoo thought. "Well, look who's here? Did you finally realize that you made a mistake of quitting and decided to crawl back to us?" Both Minjoo and Yujin looked back to see who was talking. A guy with a slender figure, probably in his early forty was already standing behind them. One look at the tall man, Minjoo already knew that he is someone important in the restaurant. He's probably the excutive chef judging from his chef jacket. "Hello chef, how have you been?" Yujin bowed politely to the guy. "But what should we do? Your old position as the sous chef is already filled with someone else, you know, someone who's easy to work with," the man added as if he meant it to be an insult. Minjoo widened her eyes upon acknowledging that Yujin was already a sous chef in an established luxurious restaurant before she work in their restaurant. Are the experiences she talked about the night they had the spaghetti meatball really worth the sacrifice of quitting an amazing job? "That's not the reason I'm here," the tall girl replied in a very stoic voice. "I need you to take down my name from the restaurant's website. I don't work here anymore, and I would like to protect my privacy," she continued, making the man scoffed. "So working in that dirty tented place has made you even more arrogant huh?" the man countered. At this point, Minjoo could already see that Yujin and the man were not really in a good term. "This has nothing to do with my attitude, and I don't work there anymore, I got a new job." she added, making the man scoffed even more loudly. "What's the point? You're just going to bail them in a few months when you got bored just like you did with us, because you know what? You're just a natural born leaver," he said. Yujin didn't respond to his confrontation and kept her unbother cold expression. Minjoo on the other hand, couldn't help but take in what the man just said. Really? Will Yujin really going to leave them when she got bored? "AHN YUJIN!!" Minjoo and the executive chef both flinched when a loud scream could be heard from behind them. While Yujin looked like she already saw it coming. Of course she recognized that annoying and loud husky voice. She had to cope with that for years. And of course she already knew that coming there would absolutely make the owner of the voice to have a chance of throwing a rampage at her. So she just sighed, preparing herself especially hear ears to deal with it. "Hey Choi Yena! How many times do I have to tell you to keep it down?! You're disturbing our customers!" the executive chef scolded, but completely got ignored by the ponytailed girl. "Aish jinjja, these people really need to learn some respect, I'm the freaking executive chef!" he frustratedly grunted and left the scene, leaving the three girls alone. "Ahn Yujin! Why didn't you pick up my call? Why didn't you reply my texts? Do you know how worried I am? Is our friendship meant nothing to you?!" the ponytailed girl started her scolding. Minjoo was amazed by how fast this girl named Choi Yena talked. She basically could beat those rappers on tv without even trying. But how could she be Yujin's friend? She thought Yujin's friend type would be those who are cold and only talk about serious things. Just like Ahn Yujin herself. The ponytailed girl then lookef over to Yujin's right side to see Minjoo. "And who is she? You're not the type to bring a girl her-oh my god! Is she your girlf-" "Will you shut up?" Yujin cut Yena off, making the girl even more furious. "Hey, why don't you guys take a seat first? The pretty agashi looked weary already," the waiter said, breaking the commotion since the other customers were starting to look. "And Yena-ya, you should get back to work," he added, making the ponytailed girl pouted but nodded her head anyway. "You owe me an explanation!" She said before walking away, leaving Minjoo and Yujin alone with the waiter. "Actually I'm not really here to eat, just tell Chef Hong to keep his promise. Have a nice day," Yujin said before walking away. "Are you sure? The chefs are trying a new recipe, I'm sure they want you to see it!" the waiter replied, but Yujin had already exited the restaurant without responding to him. Minjoo was just so relieved that they wouldn't be having their lunch there. There was no way she could afford anything in there, even their glass of water. So she bowed to the older waiter and ran outside to catch Yujin who was already two blocks away. Minjoo sighed. Yujin really is a fast walker. Panting, Minjoo finally could catch up on Yujin's speedy pace. She never was an athletic girl, and she never has the need to do sport either. She was just one of those gifted girls who will never gain weight no matter how much she eats. "Where are we going next?" she asked, but of course got ignored again. The brunette checked her phone and it was past lunch time and she could already hear the grumbling of her empty stomach. "I'm starving," she said, making Yujin suddenly stopped. Boy, Minjoo was ready to drive off if Yujin told her to leave her alone. She had disturbed the tall girl so much that day anyway. "Follow me," was Yujin's only answer before she walked again. Her answer made the pretty brunette puzzled for some moment becasue she really
