“Seungwan! Come over here! I want you to see this.”

An adult male, who bore a striking resemblance to the young child, waited patiently hovering near the ground with arms wide open. The child hugged her personal hamster plush toy and only stared at her father a few feet away. Instead of rushing the young girl, he waited patiently with a gentle smile, one that always seemed to draw his daughter to him.

This time was no different. Seungwan, dressed from head to toe in her winter gear waddled her way into her father’s arms and her big eyes concentrated on his face. Using small gestures, he directed her attention over to his hand where a single seed sat on his palm. Seungwan reached out with her free gloved hand to gently pet the alien object. Once she realized she couldn’t feel the seed through her gloves her eyebrows creased and she bit off her glove viciously to touch the object with her bare hand. Her father gave a deep chuckle at his daughter’s antics.

“Do you know what this is?”

His daughter, once again, turned her focus onto the warm man embracing her completely and shook her head without ever losing eye contact.

“It’s a tree seed and it will grow up to be big like the other trees around us.”
