Wendy walked up alone on this chilly night. She didn’t look prepared to be wandering the outdoors with only a simple coat on. She was lacking her gloves and a hat, two essential articles of clothing needed for this temperature. She walked up slowly to the tree constantly massaging and playing with her hand and fingers.
“I didn’t really expect to come back so soon.”
Her voice was soft and anything, but calm. The volume in her voice fluctuated multiple times in the short sentence. She couldn’t force herself to look anywhere except on the floor in front of her.
“I can be a real idiot sometimes.”
“You can say that again.”
A familiar voice came from behind her and simply stood next to her.
“Have you told him?”
“No, I was…”
“We’re engaged! Of course, she had to do it in the most dramatic way possible.”
“I was getting to it!”
“Well, you are too slow. A fact made more apparent recently.”
Joohyun raised her hand and Wendy’s to showcase the rings to the tree.
“We’re engaged!”
Joohyun couldn’t help but stomp her feet over and over while Wendy tried to keep her composure, but her wry smile betrayed her.
