SEUNGWAN

Two years have passed since I came to Korea. I am on my third year of college now. The first two years were easy since I share most of my classes with Seulgi. But now I feel nervous again since I have 0 classes with her. I feel like it’s freshman year again. I have other friends but not as constant as Seulgi. I really have to work on my socializing skills.

As I arrive at my first class, I was surprised to see the classroom empty. Maybe I am too early?

I decided to sit near the window and put my earphones on. This is why I am friendless! I always put earphones on whenever I am alone. I love discovering new music, especially indie ones. I feel like these songs have deeper meanings that I have to uncover. I was on my fifth song when I see a large hand wave in front of my face.

I look up and see a smiling Chanyeol. I smiled back dumbfounded and removed my earphones. After our encounter on my first day, we never spoke again. I had (probably still have) this huge crush on him back then but as what Seulgi said, he was THE Chanyeol. Everyone knew him. He was popular and has many friends. We never spoke again. Just occasional smiles whenever we pass by each other. I doubt he remembers my name. 

“Hey! Seungwan right? Canada girl. Are you in this class too? Why is no one here?” He asks and sits next to me.

He remembers my name. He knows me. 

I panic but I compose myself. I don’t want to look like an idiot.

“Hi, Chanyeol! Yes. You’re in this class too? Aren’t you a Senior already?” I ask confused.

What was that? He might think I am a stalker. 

“Ahh I am taking minor in Interior Design. Decided last minute. So probably plus another year for me. How ‘bout you? Third year already right?”

“Yes, thankfully. That’s good, having a minor I mean. But isn’t it too far from music though?”
