I’ve moved on!

“Ugh! Finally done.” Seungwan sighs. I cracked my neck and stretched my legs after sitting and working for five straight hours. “No wonder I’m hungry, it’s 10PM already” she said looking at clock on her work desk.
Just when I thought of having dinner, Seulgi, my best friend of almost 8 years, called up. “Wannie, are you done? Let’s go get dinner at the chicken restaurant near your apartment” Seulgi says loudly without waiting for my answer. She’s really confident I won’t say no.
I packed my things to meet Seulgi. My office is a 15 minute bus ride from where I am staying, the restaurant just a 5 minute walk. I am renting an apartment in Gangnam since my parents live in Canada. I’ve been living alone since I was 18 when I moved back to Seoul to study college. I remember being scared to travel and live alone in a country I am not really familiar with anymore. I barely know anyone from South Korea. But I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, from my parents care. I wanted to be independent and free, that’s why I decided to study in Seoul instead of the US. Time really passed by quickly. Thinking back, 8 years ago, I was dreaming of being a successful Interior Designer, and now I am working at one of Seoul’s best firms. My career is really going well. “I made the right choice afterall”, she said to herself.
