“Unnie, you better have a good reason for waking me up. Not that I need beauty sleep but my charms work best when I’m well rested.” 

“Shush! Just come here Sooyoung-ya.” Irene took hold of Joy’s wrist and dragged the taller girl into her bedroom with such force that the taller girl was half bent over to compensate for Irene’s short stature. “I really don’t know what to think of this.” 

Joy looked down at her leader with disgruntlement. “Is it another bug because we got you that electric fly swatter for a reason.”

“No! Just ughh.” Irene groaned and pointed to the brown shoebox sitting innocently on her bed. Joy could see a small blush creeping on her leader’s cheeks. “See for yourself.” 

Auburn eyes flew to the box and immediately the young girl perked up with a grin. Suspicious unmarked box plus Irene’s bedroom equaled something dirty. 

“Unnie, really? I never pegged you and Seulgi unnie to be naughty type. Is it double ended? Wait, does it glow in the dark?” She eagerly reached for the box and threw the top up and over her head with a flourish. “Oh wow.” 

Slowly, Joy picked up the shiny pair of silver handcuffs, her smile twisting into a devious smirk. 

“Oh wow.” She glanced at her leader who was now bright red. Joy opened to make a smart comment about it not being fuzzy handcuffs when her eyes caught sight of dark blue fabric in the box. “A police hat? Seriously?” 

“It’s Seulgi’s!” Irene said quickly, covering her burning face with her small hands. “I just found it when I was packing and I don’t think she knows that I know but it has to be her’s because it’s definitely not mine.”

“Wasn’t this a fan gift though?” Joy asked, putting the hat on her own head. She winked at her leader playfully. 

“Yes but not the handcuffs. She must’ve gotten those on her own.” 

The redhead hummed thoughtfully, tapping her chin with her finger. After a second, she snapped her fingers with a loud ‘aha!’.

“I know what they’re for! She’s probably going to use it for something because of how much you talk about Jennie. Y’know, to remind you that you’re her’s.”

Irene kept her face buried in her hands and shook her head vehemently with a whine. “Even if that’s the truth, she isn’t like that, Sooyoung. She’s dominant sometimes, but anything like this is way out of her comfort zone.” 

“Really? I always pegged unnie as the secret type.”

The leader wrapped her arms around herself and shifted uncomfortably, face still burning brightly. “N-no…” She mumbled. “I’ve always been the one.” 

There was a pregnant pause of heavy silence as Joy gaped at Irene was wide eyes and open mouth. 

Her leader, her quiet innocent leader who filled her free time reading books from the 16th century and watched an absurd amount of Doraemon, was the one?! Words couldn’t describe the shock Joy felt at that moment. 

“Unnie, I think I need a moment.” She finally said, dropping onto the bed. She held her head in one hand and frowned, feeling like everything she ever thought she knew about Bae Joohyun was stripped away in a single sentence.
