What was I even thinking? Mina frowned as she looked at her reflection on the mirror. Her hair’s dripping wet with a towel over her head. She couldn’t believe she asked Kai if she could trust him. She reasoned out that she was just pulled by the flow of their conversation and the atmosphere that time. And why the hell was I blushing the entire time?

She slapped her cheek but yelped in pain when she did it harder than she intended. Sighing, she started drying her hair as she made her way out of the restroom. Her feet brought her to her desk where Jinhee’s diary was placed.

Sehun helped me with combat training today since Kai had to go to his raids. I managed to stay on my feet for at least 10 minutes without being tackled. Kai would be really proud of my achievement but then again, Sehun’s not as hardcore as Kai when it comes to teaching hand-to-hand combat. Sehun’s more of a long distance fighter.

I had Simulation Class with Xiumin, Chanyeol and Baekhyun today. As usual, Chanyeol and Baekhyun had a little banter which ended up with them being frozen by Xiumin for at least 20 seconds. I can’t blame Xiumin for doing that. They’re just acting like kids when they’re together. I don’t get why they’re always fighting about the most trivial things.

Lately, I’ve been feeling something weird when I’m with Sehun. I’m not still sure about it though. It’s just that he treats me nicely. Maybe I’m just getting ahead of myself.

I think I like Sehun.

Mina let her eyes linger on the last words as she traced the ink on the paper. She’s really delving into Jinhee’s personal life and part of her has been asking if it’s really alright to do such thing. When she was about to turn to another page, she heard a light knock on her door. She stood right away and walked towards it in wide strides. She’s sure that it was Lay.

“Hi,” Sehun greeted softly with a small smile when Mina opened the door. He quickly looked over his shoulder to check if somebody’s coming before looking back at Mina. “Can I come in?”

Dumbly, Mina opened the door wider for him to enter. Sehun got inside her room in a flash and she slowly closed the door behind her while processing the reason why Sehun’s there and why she let him enter her room without any second thoughts. She awkwardly stood near the wall, keeping her distance from him because so far, he’s been pulling her by the hand, pinning her against the wall and covering with his hand.

Sehun noticed her expression and he just let a sigh escape his lips. “I’m not going to jump at you. Breathe,” he stated with a crooked smile. She studied how he pulled a small glass container from his jacket’s pocket. “I just need your help.”

She raised a brow when Sehun handed her the container. She was busy scrutinizing the glass that when she lifted her head to look at him, a little scream left . She quickly turned around with her eyes shut tightly. She was sure that she just saw Sehun taking off his shirt. “W-What are you doing?” she asked in panic.

“I’m taking my shirt off,” he replied nonchalantly.

“And why the hell are you taking it off?”

“For you to put the-” He halted when he realized that Mina was thinking of something else. He sighed, shaking his head in sheer disbelief and amusement. “Hey, look, I just need your help and nothing more. I just need you to put that medicine on my back.”

“Why not do it yourself?” she asked, still with her eyes closed.

“Because I cannot reach it?” he answered or rather asked. He pulled her arm and dragged her across the room. She was determined to close her eyes the entire time. He made her sit on the bed. “C’mon Mina, it’s not like the first time you’ve seen me .”

That comment made her open her eyes. “You make it sound like- Oh my…” She exhaled. “…god. W-What happened to you?” She let her eyes linger at the sight of his . Her fingers trailed on his back and he inhaled sharply as if her touch was like fire. She never noticed the scars on his back when he undressed him to clean his wounds last time. Some of them were still fresh as if they’ve been inflicted just days ago. They were long and straight as if they were made by claws – big claws.

“J-Just put the ointment on them. Please,” Sehun requested after a while. Mina quickly opened the container and scooped some of it on her hand. Every contact with his skin made him tense up in pain. Mina couldn’t help but flinch every time he shook his shoulder.

“You know, these could heal faster if you ask Lay to help you,” she said as she continued applying the ointment on his cuts.

“I know,” he exhaled.

“Then why not ask him for help?”

Sehun’s silence made her pause from what she was doing. She noticed how he lowered his head and how he tightened his jaws as if he was stopping himself from saying anything. “Just finish putting that.”

She continued placing the ointment with much care. “How have you been treating these wounds on your own then? Some of these look like they’ve been made weeks ago.” Some of the scars on his back even looked like they’ve been there for some years now. She suddenly remembered how Sia told her that Sehun’s mysterious.

Her imagination took a good hold of her that she imagined him doing shady things at the back of the Royals. She felt her hands turn cold. Am I keeping my guard down too much? I don’t know if I can trust him yet.

As if Sehun felt her freeze, he slightly turned around, giving Mina a full view of his god-like chiseled abdomen. She knew that it’s not really proper but she could feel her cheeks heating up. It’s not even the first time that she saw him half but the effect it was bringing to her cannot be brushed away.

“My grandfather used to help me with it,” Sehun said in a soft voice and Mina saw his expression suddenly turned somewhat sad. She recognized the tone and the look on his face. She’s been in that situation before. She knows remorse when she sees one.

“I’m sorry for what happened to your grandfather.”

Sehun tried to give her a small smile but he failed. Instead, he turned around for her to continue what she was doing. Mina took the hint and she did what he wanted her to do. They remained silent. I wonder if Jinhee ever told Sehun about how she felt about him. She’s curious like hell but she couldn’t bring herself to ask anything too personal. It’s not even her business to begin with.

“Mina.”

“Huh?” She sounded surprised.

“Can you keep this a secret?”

Mina blinked and stared at the back of his head. At the moment, she’s having a lot of reservations about getting close with Sehun.

“I know you don’t trust me just yet. I completely understand that. I came to you because I know that you can keep a secret. You said nothing to anyone about that night when I climbed into your room.” He paused. “Trust does not come that easy here. After what happened in the past, trusting anybody came next to impossible.”

Kai said the same thing along those lines. Now, she’s more than curious as to how everything became too complicated between the Royals. “Then why do you trust me?” Mina asked after a while.

Sehun pushed himself up from the bed. He picked his shirt and turned to her. When their eyes met, she felt like she was being pulled by whatever that is that he has in those eyes of his.

“I don’t know. I’m just taking my chances here.” His lips curved slightly upwards. “And as crazy as it may sound, it’s my first time making such decision. I want to trust you, Han Mina.”

Kai started playing with the pen in his hand as the conversation between the members of the Council filled the room. He’s there to make a report about the raids that they’ve been doing and because Old Balding Song requested for his presence there. He thought that Baldy invited him there because he’s one of the persons who does not give a damn about what Lee Hyejin, Baekhyun’s mother, would say. Kai can go head to head with the woman if he wanted to.

Lee Hyejin’s one of those Alice users who put themselves above others because of their pure blood status. She’s one of the people waiting for Mina to make a mistake to point a finger at her and drag her down. The woman’s a snake waiting for her perfect opportunity to make an attack.
