Embla knows that she's not in the right mind to go to the New York Sanctum to assess the situation. If this was any other day, she'd be the first and only one to do it but today wasn't like any other day. Everyone knows that sending Embla with the rage flaming inside her would be the worst decision Nick could make. Right after trusting someone enough to get his eye ruined.

"Embla, I need you to stay here and recover." Nick orders the Asgardian with a look to indicate that he's serious with this order. Embla rolls her eyes and crosses her arms as confirmation to him though, it was mainly to ease the pain in her chest. She steps away from Jean, making her way to the kitchen counter to lean on for support.

The other look on from their respective spots, still unsure what to make of the scene that unfolded before them just now. Jean looks to Embla, worry clear in her eyes. She can't remember ever seeing her in such a vulnerable position. She can't imagine the pain that she must be feeling but she knows Embla will never show it to her or the team. It's one of the reasons why Nick and the team treat her as the unspoken leader of the team. She doesn't let her emotions cloud her judgement and work but Jean knows-like Nick-that Embla wasn't the most truthful at times when reporting about certain things.

The team gathered at their usual conference table, discussing the government's hard push to have the Avengers register themselves. It had become tense in the room as even within the women there were points to be made for both sides. Fury wasn't going to allow the women to register themselves because as far as the world knew, Infinity didn't exist. He held the meeting anyways to discuss the elephant in the room, knowing that some conversation about the issue was warranted to ease future tensions and conflicts on the field. It was a group therapy session as Jean called it. Fury showed the footage of all the past destruction that followed the Avengers' strifes with threats. When footage of the New York attack was displayed, Jean happened to look over at Embla; catching her lowering her head as she seemed to take a sharp breath.
