Pie POV

I woke up earlier than my routine, I was so hype like I was on something.
'Gosh what is happening to me' I ask my self.
The smile on my face never left, that even I can't understand.

I arrive at the office so early, I saw a red box with a golden ribbon and cup of coffee above my table. I bit my lower lips to hide my excitement.
When I pick up the box I saw a note written in a blue paper, A curve formed in my lips automatically as I read the message.

'Start your day with a smile & COFFEE,
its a liquid hug for your brain'

I scanned around and saw none but my eyes went to a closed door that I believe is the owner of this handwriting. I can't help myself but smile


"Hey, what do we have here hmmm?" My friend jane asked with a suspicious tone while pointing at the box in front of me that wakes me up from my thoughts


"Aah a cake" I answered shyly


"Where is the cake?" We turned around and saw puey approaching us "I heard cake, i need sweet for my broken heart" he said acting like he is crying


"Oh puey its not your time to shine" jane said while pushing away puey aside with her left hand then turn on me "come on who gave you this?" She asked teasingly


I was about to answer but puey stop me "it will be best if we eat while we chit chat, it is still early" he said taking the box with him and pulling me with him


Jane sigh and just follow us to the pantry shaking her head with a smile

At The Pantry


When I opened the box it reveal a mouthwatering chocolate cake, oh my favorite

Before I could take my first bite "what now pie?" Puey asked while munching a spoonful of cake inside his mouth

Jane look at me impatiently waiting for an answer


"Actually guys no one gave it to me" I said answering them


"What do you mean? You bought it?" jane asked with a knitted eye brow before putting a cake in


"Sorry Pie, we doooon't believe youuu" puey said prolonging his words while enjoying his cake


"I mean. . well I just saw it on my table" I said shrugging


"You mean like a secret admirer leave it?" Puey asked with a twinkle eye "oh there must be a note‼" he said looking at me rising his eye brow up and down


I feel my cheeks burning jane must have notice it "oh yeah there is, com'on show it"


"It just a simple message guys" I said trying to cover up myself


But they just give me a Give-it-now look which I oblique by giving them the small paper that I have already kept in my wallet



"Oh so sweet!" Puey exclaimed "so this coffee is for your brain" he said winking at me

"I think its from our boss, right?" Jane said looking at me


"Definitely" puey said proudly


I feel my heart rush a beat "How can you say so? There is no name written" i asked nervously not wanting them to suspect anything even though my mind thinks the same


"Look at the hand writing, so neat and beautiful" obviously a girl penmanship jane said answering me


"Tell us pie, did something already happened between you too?" Puey asked suspiciously looking straight into my eyes


"No!" I answered defensively "I-i mean nothing"


"Are you sure?" Jane asked with her interrogating face


"Yeah, we are not even dating" I said then look into my watch "oh its time already we need to be back now" I said while I immediately stood and go back to my desk

I fix myself when i reach a door 'geeh why am I being conscious on how do i look' i said to my self 'of course look is part of being a professional' yeah thats it thats it, then i took a deep breath before knocking


Tok! tok!


"Come in" i heard the familiar voice from inside


After I close the door behind I said "Good afternoon boss, this is my report" while I take steps towards her


"Please take a sit" she said still looking into her computer


I sit on a chair across her table and put the folder I'm holding in her desk carefully.

I scan my boss room, this actually is the first time i have an opportunity to look around because I always just come & go here before.

The room is neat and very well organize, the view is great as you can see the whole city, I bet it will be a breath taking view during sunset and at night.


I wonder more and saw a file of magazine on a rack then I saw one above the glass center table, it looks like dessert recipes. What if kim is the one who bake the delicious chocolate cake we ate a while ago. I unconsciously smile with the thought, 'HEY!' I scolded myself 'why are you thinking like that I snap and back to the reality.


I then turned and look at my boss and saw her typing, she is engage with a big projects I guess, her face is so focused on her computer. then I notice a change in her face but couldn't tell what it is until she suddenly stop typing.


That's weird but anyway, she then change her position to face me and grab the folder into her hands and scan it one by one "This are all boring plans, anyone can make something like this" she said plainly


I hissed irritably 'this is the monster boss I know, where is the gentle kim I talked to last night?' I asked myself, that cake is definitely not from her


"And look there is so much typographical error" she added encircling my report with a red pen, what is this an exam? I release a deep breath to calm myself
"Do over." She said firmly


I stand up and take a look at her but she is already back to facing her computer again "Yes boss" i answered in low shoulder and went back to my desk

She is unbelievable, wasn't she suppose to be nice to me? Where is the rehabilitation things she is saying that night


"Ms.Pie!" I was startled a little then look at the owner of the voice

"Ah yes sir, do you need something?" I asked the old man in front of me politely, he is Mr.G the senior head of our department

"The board decided that today's year Valentine campaign's guest will be Van Yupanun and Zee watanabe." He said handing me a copy of Van's profile, I was frozen for a moment hearing that name then I heard him say "I'll leave it to you to contact their office okay?"


"Ye-es" the only word I was able to utter before he take his leave

The next day I gather my team for brain storming because of the 'Do over' plan for the up coming valentine.


We've been changing ideas for an hour now when kim flashes to my mind and an idea pop up into my head.


"Guys" I call their attention "For the fans, Mr.Van is their lover right?" Everybody nods in approval so then I continued "So how about we have an chocolate giving where the fans can personally gave their home made chocolate as a present to him?"


"That sound's interesting, fans will be happy" Jane commented


"That's a very good idea Pie, I've been dreaming of that day where Van accepted my love" Puey said day dreaming that makes everyone laugh 


"Yes that will attract more fans to come in our event" nerd said


we continue discussing about the designs, tarpaulins and everything that will be used and needed for the up coming event.


I also have called and discussed the matter about the coming event to both offices of our guest.

The following weeks become so busy, everyone has their own task assigned.


Kim and I never got a chance to talk but I keep receiving a coffee with notes on my desk that makes me smile everyday.


3 more days to go before the event yet "Everyone, the tickets for the valentines event we're already sold out" I happily announce then continued "All we have left now is to wait for the day of the event" every one felt happy and cheered


"We did it" Jane said happily


We we're in that moment when suddenly the senior head officer Mr.G come rushing "Ms.Pie one of our special guest Zee's office have called me just now saying Zee will only be around until 7 o'clock in the evening"


That made me shock "Huh?"

 

"Isn't the activity till 9 o'clock?" Mr.G stated more sounding disappointingly than asking

"Yes, I have called them and made it clear to them about the whole schedule for the activity" I answered immediately "And I also send them an email"


"Did you properly confirm it face to face with them?" I turned around and saw the Jr. Head my boss Kim walking towards us


"A-ah" I was lost of words "I'm sorry" I said vowing my head


"What do we do then?" Mr.G said almost shouting "we can't give out refunds, that would cause too much damage" he said angrily


"It is too much for her" Kim answered in my defense "they probably thought she was just thought she was a newbie and didn't take her seriously" she said explaining


"Arrgggh" Mr.G make a frustrating sound "Tell me! What will we do!?" He asked frustrated


I came back to my senses "Please let me fix this, I'll do everything to fix this problem" I answered firmly


My boss sigh and gave a nod, I immediately left and went to the office of our guest


"Excuse me, Can I please talk to your chief?" I asked the lady in the information desk


"Do you have an appointment?" She asked


"No I don't but Its an emergency, I'm from the GCG hotel" I said explaining


"I'm sorry ma'am but our chief has a tight schedule, the only free schedule she have is on Feb.15" She said appologetically


"The event that I needed to discuss with him is on valentines, feb 14 I really need to talk to him" I said pleading


"I'm sorry Ms., Chief is strict with his schedule, I can't do anything about it. If you'll excuse me I have more things to do" she said leaving me behind

I send a message to my boss kim updating her the status I have about our guest schedule but I haven't recieve any answer, I waited in the lobby and saw the chief's secretary


I run towards him "Sir I am Pie Mindara from GCG hotel, Can I talk to your boss please?" I said trying to walk fast to catch his stance


"My boss is busy as hell" he said continue walking fast


"Please, it'll only take a minute" I said pleading


"Its impossible" he answered short


"Please" I plead


"Sorry, need to go catch a meeting" he said shrugging me off before entering a room


Crap what will I do, I'm starting to fell hopeless


'No! You can do it!' I said to myself


I guess I've got no choice but to go to him directly.


I dialled a number in my phone after a few rings someone pick up


"Hello Pie where are you? Are you okay?"


"Ahm Jane, lets do the talking later, I need your help, I need the Chief's address of zee's company" i asked her hopefully


"Okay, okay wait i'll check their file" jane said


After a few seconds jane went back on me and gave me the full address, I said my thanks and said goodbye

I am outside a huge house the sun is about to set when I saw the door opening


"Chief!" I called running towards the chief direction "Sir can't we do something about Ms.Zee schedule?"


"Your so persistent" he said unlocking his car


"Please, I don't want to betray the fans expectations in meeting her" i said almost begging


"Sorry its already decided." He said and was about to enter his car when someone called him


"Chief! wait" The chief stop and looked at him "there's. ." He pause


"What!?" The chief answered


"There is something, ahm about madam" the other man answered


The chief went towards him, they talk for sometime privately while I wait patiently, after they talk he went back toward me "well, sorry about that" he said apologetically


"Ah its okay sir" i answered politely


"You know we've been affiliated with your hotel for quite sometime now, I have given it a thought and I'll do something about it" he said with a smile


I smiled "really?" I asked


He nods with a smile


"Thank you very much sir" efforts do pay I said to my self


"No problem" he said and made his way


I dialed kim's number


"Hello Boss, I just got an okay" I said proudly with a smile "I properly corrected my mistake" 


"its only natural to correct your mistake" she answered sounding plain


"But still. ." I was about to say more when I heard


tooot, tooot, tooot, tooot

Gosh he cut the line, whats with her.
