PIE POV

 

"what?" My friend Jane asked in disbelief, having her eyes fixed on me

"How did she asked you that?"  Puey asked curiously

well we are currently having our lunch break, after eating we went to the foyer in the second floor to rest and do some chitchats, we always stay here during our free time. And I used this time to tell them about the matter my boss discussed with me after the event 3 days ago.

 

 

FLASHBACK

After the event I waited outside the hall for my boss, I knew I had done something wrong again. Gee why do I have a strict boss :( Guess I just have to ask her to be a little more nicer to me.

when I turn my head I saw her walking towards me

'Oh here she comes' I said to my self as I take take a deep breath "Ahm... Could you please keep the scolding simple, remember my brain capacity is same as a dog's after all." I said in a low voice

 

"No. Its not, it's no more than a dog, Your memory is even worse" I look at her shock, she is so full of herself doesn't she?

 

"So! is that all what you have to say to me?" I asked as I already wanted to leave but then her next words shock me

 

I was like an app that is loading "Won't you go out with me?" she asked

 

I was   -_-   to   O_o

what did she said? I must forgot to clean my ears "Excuse me... what do you mean go out?" I asked, i might have a hearing problem. why in the world would she asked me out, she must be joking right?

she then look at me in the eye 'Lab dub' I heard my heart beat so loud,

why do I feel nervous? "A-aren't you go-ing to say 'Just kidding?' or something?" I said stuttering emphasizing the word just kidding with a small laugh to ease my anxiety

 

"Was that supposed to be funny?" she asked seriously but then continue "when I said go out, I mean what it actually means." she said in her poker face expression

 

"So then... Aahmm are you saying you like me?" I asked confused

 

"I didn't say that" she said with straight face, I can't read her emotion

 

"Well excuse me, I don't really understand" I said more confuse of what she wants

 

"Even if I don't like you now, if we go out and find any compatibility there's also possibilities of marriage." Its a lot to absorb but when I realize her last word

 

"M-marriage!?" I shouted in shock then cover my mouth as I realize my voice is high

 

She walk pass me while saying "I don't want to waste my time with useless date, I was actually thinking of going overseas" I turned around to face her and saw her stop making a step "With a partner it'll make the aspiration stronger" she continued still not facing me "from working with you I know. . ." she then turn around to face me "you are devastatingly horrible at procedures but specifically good at adapting"

 

"That's all just for your own convenience, isn't?" I asked disappointingly and I don't know why am I disappointed

 

"Do you hate me?" she asked

 

"well, you're my boss so I've never take it into notice if I hate you or not" I answered, well I was angry with her sometimes but hate her is different, right?

she takes a step forward closing our distance "Then take it into notice."

 

END OF FLASHBACK

 

"yiieee she asked you out?" My friend Pboy asked squealing

 

"You did it girl! Kimhan Burnaphan is quite an asset!" Jane shouted at me excitedly

 

"How can she be?" I answered them with a question "She makes a fool out of others and her way with mean words" I continued and then imitate her style and voice "I'm a UP graduate! I'm smart! with a personality like that. ."  but Boy cut me off

 

" well, well, well if you notice most fresh graduates would be tossed around in rural places or even went training just to have a good background, yet she went here straight without hassle and take note she already have a position in no time and this is the Main Branch! which means she is not just ordinary" Pboy is the one who answer like his an expert in pro filling

 

"And let me remind you, she is a she" I said as to object from what he is saying

 

"Yeah! A very handsome Tom and let me remind you too it's not a big deal anymore" Boy raise her Index finger like an idea pops into his head "She lives in a huge house, A good looking person, comes from a well respected family, I think she is a little humble too, well if you think about it carefully nothing's wrong other than her personality" he added shrugging me off with his teasing smile then step closer to the veranda

"B-, not bad" he said when he sees a Guy walking, he started our grading hobby towards every man we see below passing by.

 

"D+" Jain said to a fat guy having a hard time walking 

 

"C, C-, D, B+, C+ , D" we where laughing and giggling and the grading continued until I saw our boss appears in the middle and stop to look at her phone.

 

then I heard "Kimhan is undeniably 'A+' she out graded mens, Plus she is single" Pboy said giving me a meaningful look

 

"I heard she is up to an overseas promotion" Jane said seriously

 

"She might take you along Pie, oooh I envy you already" Pboy said smiling and pout like a kid

 

"Anyway Pie, what do you think? Jane again with her serious side

 

They both look at me attentively waiting for my answer and it kinda make me anxious "Ah I'll be turning her down?" I said unsure, oh what got into me am I considering it? I mentally slap my self

 

"Really?" P'boy asked happily

 

"why? why you looks so excited all of  a sudden?" I asked

 

"Well if she'll asked me, I will definitely say Yes!" He answered raising his right fist as if he won something

 

"What are you talking about" Jane said hitting pboy in the head

 

"Why you do that?"  asked pboy while scratching his head

 

"I thought you like boys" I asked laughing as they teased each other

 

"Yes but Kim can be an exception, he is a very handsome guy for me. Can I have her Pie?" he said immediately

 

"Oh don't mind him Pie, Lets go!" Jane said with a smile pulling me towards our office

I am on my way to the locker room when I heard someone

 

"what? where?"  asked in shock manner "Okay, I'll be there" answered in calmer but worried voice

 

"Hello nerd, are you okay?" I asked concerned, she is a colleague and also a friend even though we don't talk much, well she literally rarely speak.

 

"my mother have been brought to the hospital, can I asked you a favor?" she asked pleading

 

"Sure! what is it?" I answered, I'll be glad to help in anyway I can.

 

"Our model for today's event forgot this" she said passing a small bag to me "Can you instead give this to her please?"

 

"Okay, I'll take it to her. Go now your mom need you" I said tapping her shoulder

 

"Thank you!" she sincerely said "Oh by the way, she is staying in the Suite Room Ocean view"

 

I nod a her with a smile then push her way to go.

I click the Buzzer of the door and after few seconds the door open, revealing a tall y woman "Yes? What do you need?"  she asked irritably

 

"I'm from event group  department, you forgot this" I said with a smile but then I caught a figure going out from the bathroom drying hair with a towel wearing a bathrobe.

Our eyes met for about 3 seconds, I know those eyes. . .

I was shock, my body seemed to freeze but I was able to recover myself back to my senses. I can't be mistaken, that is the person who'm I was waiting for

 

"You should have passed this to my manager, are you that stupid?" she said slamming the door in front of me

I still can't believe that I saw that person again.

"Boss" I shouted when I saw the back of a familiar figure walking

 

She turned around "Oh its just you" then continue walking again

 

I walk faster to catch her face "a-ahm, Please go out with me" I said out of the blue that even I was shock with my own words, what? why did I say that?

She stopped walking and face me but before she could utter a word I corrected my statement "I mean. . No-not the forever type, just for tonight" she gave me a look raising her right eyebrow

oh that came out not right I think "No! By tonight I didn't mean it that way!" Now she gave a confused looked this is embarrassing tsk "well, ah b-bye" I said trying to walk away but before I could even finished 1 step I felt a warm hands stopping me by holding my right wrist

 

"You haven't heard my answer yet and there is no taking back of what you said" she said before dragging me

We ended up in The LOUNGE bar, It is dimly lit with plenty of spacious, comfortable seating. It is a place you can sit, relax, enjoy your drink and your company and not have a care in the world. This is exactly the place I needed to be right now, I wonder why my boss thought to go here.

The music is pretty soft allowing for actual conversation to take place.

 

"So you dated Van Yupanun?" Kim asked after sipping from her glass

 

I don't now how did I manage to start the conversation but with Kim I felt secure and comfortable, no maybe because of the ambiance, yeah the place actually engage intimate human interaction with someone.

"Yes but that was a long time ago, we where neighbors and we where in middle school" I answered honestly

 

"And then?" She asked signaling me to continue

 

"His father was going to be transferred overseas, and we don't want to break apart no matter what"  I said as some fragments of memory start flashing to my head "So we eloped"

 

"Eloping is so retro" she said looking at me with a smile on her face. some how I feel a different kim today

 

"Hey why are you smiling? we were serious back then" I said acting I was hurt but I feel good talking to her

 

"where did you two go? for how long you where together" she asked curiously

 

"We went to Tagaytay, the adults caught us up immediately, same day we runaway" I said shrugging but then I turned to her seriously "But even though we where kids, I know we were serious" I smile with the thought "I remember when his father is taking him to the car, he is crying and told me that he will come and get to me someday" 

 

"Are you still waiting, believing in that?" Kim asked sounding eagerly and I can see... wait is she jealous? of course not pie don't fool yourself I said to mind.

 

The truth is I'm not sure but I answered instead "I may be the only one still believing in those words and he already forgotten about me" I answered then drink the cocktail in front of me "I know its stupid, I'm stupid anyway"

 

 

"Hey your not" she said deffensively

 

"Oh common your the one who always remind me that, you know I passed on every chance of having any relationship" she looked at me in the eye, i felt something but shrug it off and continued "I haven't had anyone for 7 years, it is a horrible way to be in this situation" I look at her and said "Someone like you wouldn't understand"

 

"Don't judge someone easily, you don't know me" she said with a smirk

 

damn it why she looks cute now "I think your the type to play around and date anyone because you are popular." I said  pinching her cheeks

 

"Hey! Hey! stop, your hurting me you know" she said while she rubs her redden cheeks

 

 I saw some girls in front of our table making ways to be notice by kim, so cheap acting like that "Going to a bar is just childs play to you, right?"  I asked not noticing my voice is loud

 

"Madame, I'm sorry but please tone it down." the bartender call my attention

 

"I'm sorry" I said bowing my head while apologizing, I suddenly felt embarrass and lost my comfort a while ago, I was about to stand up but then again kim stopped me

 

"We where not done, She isn't done with her story yet" she said looking so serious to the bartender that gives me security inside "one more round of the same thing"

 

"a-ah yes" the bartender answered stuttering and prepares our drink immediately

 

after sometime.  .  .

 

a tear started to form in my eyes "I'm stuck at being 14, I can't go out with anyone" I said resting my head over my hands

 

"Then lets do it" I turned my head to face her "until you can love again" she looks at my direction then continue "go through a rehabilitation through me" then she takes her glass and drinks from it

 

"Rehabilitation?" the only words that I can utter
