White Night
The Forgotten Vow
20 years old.
An age where they could completely escape their teens age. Most people would believe that, if they ever passed the teen age, they're already matured enough to survive in the world when obviously they weren't. They're still like any other teenagers whom until now in need of guidance from adults but that wasn't easy when the adults never paid attention to them even from the start.
They never receive the attention they supposed to get. Ever since they're born.
That's what make the five students from Jeongguk Art School came together and swore to each other that they will always stay together and trust no one but themselves.
After they graduated from the hellish school, most of their times have been spent in the superwide pent house at the 18th floor of the High Star buildings provided by one of the members' parents. It's initially his private house, but Jungwoo decided to make it as a 'club house' for five of them to hang out together.
A space where they could abandon everything and be themselves, though only for a second.
"Where's Dongyeol?" Jungwoo asked as he slammed his body onto the sofa at the centre of the living room. He looked around to double-check the attendance, and it's confirmed that only four of them were around.
When everyone ignored his question, Jungwoo stood up and went to Suji who was currently having her eyes locked on a book; she's such a bookworm. As soon as he could get in touch with her, Jungwoo snatched the book from her and glance at it instead, "Kim Jungwoo!" Suji whined when someone distracted her focus in reading.
They could pull a prank on her anytime they want, but not when she's reading. That's too much and already break the number one rule in Suji's list.
"What?" Jungwoo closed the book and place it aside. He silently took a sit beside the girl and naturally lay down his arm around Suji's shoulders, "Are you mad, my princess?" He cheekily uttered those words causing the girl beside him to blush.
Suji gulped; clearing . Her eyes were shaking due to the distance she had with Jungwoo at the moment, "Y-- You broke the rule," She ended up mentioning about it, "So you have to---," Suji couldn't even continue her words when suddenly Jungwoo put a peck on her left cheek.
"Done, right?" He stated and made his way to Moonbin who was busy playing the video games, "Hey, man," Jungwoo took a sit beside the boy and Moonbin passed a slight smile towards him.
The girl has been left dumbfounded by a boy named Kim Jungwoo. How could he kiss her and fled, just like that? How could Jungwoo act like it's nothing, but a joke to him? Seriously?
Okay, Suji, stop being too tense. He always kisses you whenever he got a chance. You know him better than anyone, right? So, just forget about that and focus on your book instead.
"Hey, guys," Jungwoo tried to have a conversation with his ignorance friends. His eyes then fell on the other girl in the house. She has always been attracting his attention ever since Suji escorted her into the group and join them. Jungwoo didn't realize but his lips slowly curved upwards when he looked at the girl.
And Suji noticed that smile.
"Jung Yein," Suji called out for the only girl in the house. Yein shifted her eyes from the television towards the girl beside her and immediately raised both of her eyebrows, "Did Dongyeol call you perhaps?" She asked when she couldn't see her twin brother anywhere. She swears to God; Dongyeol consistently set her in trouble and she couldn't handle it anymore. If she could ever choose to be born anew, she would say that she wanted to remain the only child in her family.
Yein toss back her head when the reality us, she hasn't check on her phone gor the past 2 hours. She gripped her phone that she put nicely on the table as if it's a display and unlocked it. Yein's round eyes widened when she saw there's 32 missed calls from Dongyeol, "Suji," She showed her call logs to Suji.
"I knew it," Suji scoffed as she snatched the phone away from Yein and dialled the number in instant, "Lee Dongyeol!" She shouted when someone picked up the call.
All of the attention goes to the girl who was having a furious expression plastered all over her face, "What is wrong with her?" Jungwoo whispered to Moonbin.
Moonbin shrugged, "I bet Dongyeol did something again," He made a random guess.
Suji frowned when the voice whom answering the call isn't Dongyeol but a total random dude, "Who are you?" She asked, "," Suji ended the call abruptly and suddenly her eyes were dripping with tears as if there's a leakage in her tear ducts.
The boys rushed themself towards the girl while Yein stood beside Suji with a clueless expression, "Hey, Suji, what's wrong? What happened to Dongyeol?" Yein asked, but the girl didn't give any respond to her.
"Hey," Moonbin was about to pull the girl into a hug when Jungwoo did it first. He has always been one step later than him. He heaved a silent sigh.
Jungwoo slowly caressed the girl's hair with full of love, because it's true, that he loves Suji, "It's okay, Suji," The gentle voice calling out for her managed to calm herself down a little bit, "Tells me, where's Dongyeol?" He carefully asked that question as he was terrified that the girl might still in a shock state.
"D-- Dongyeol," She stuttered.
Moonbin bit his lower lips as he looked at the crying girl infront of him, "It's okay, Suji. You can tell us," He assured the girl with his words.
Suji then slowly pulled herself out from the hug and looked at her friends with her puffy eyes. She has eternally been the strongest among them but she didn't know why, in this room, the tears she has been hiding from the whole world would flow out from her eyes like it's nothing, "Dongyeol has been caught by Donghan,"
"Damn, I was wondering where he was. Turn out he's making a mess," Moonbin complained, ending up received an extremely sharp gaze from Suji, "What? Dongyeol always caused problem to us, okay?"
The girl kicked Moonbin's legs, "Is that all you're going to say?" She shouted the words right in Moonbin's face and grinted her teeth as she held her anger back. Second rule in Suji's list that they should never break, talked bad about her unidentical twin brother, "Who do you think the reason he's there though?" Suji crossed her arms and glared at Moonbin.
It's all happened because of Moonbin. Why the hell he needs to punch Donghan in the face when Donghan was just joking around them? Okay, for all one knows the joke is too much to merely consider it as a joke. Maybe.
"Guys, it's not the time for this," Yein finally opened and declared something. They thought she was just going to stay quiet till the problem settled. That's what she usually did.
Jungwoo nodded, "I agree with Yein," He claimed. And Suji didn't know why but she hates the fact that Jungwoo agreed with Yein's words when it's really reasonable for him to say yes to her words. What the is wrong with you, Lee Suji? Suji sighed, "Are you okay?" Jungwoo directly asked when he heard the audible sigh coming from Suji.
Suji lifted her head up and looked at Jungwoo who was allowing his eyes locked on her. How great if she could have these stare only on her, and no one else? How great if she could be true about her feelings? That she likes Kim Jungwoo... And she wanted to be more than 'just a friend' to him. But, huh, just let's forget about it. There's nothing could be change now.
Because a promise will always stay as a promise. And it should never be br
