“This is Bae Joohyun.”

Both parties were left in silence for a while. The girl who was just introduced only bit her bottom lip in anticipation, trying to look calm but ended up looking like she was asking for help. The three guys in front of her blinked rapidly in slight disbelief, except the guy who had met her before.

“These are Sehun and Baekhyun, also Jongin, you’ve met,” the guy who introduced the girl to the other guys continued, looking at two parties.

“I-It’s an honour to meet you all,” the girl couldn’t help but take a deep bow. She just realized that her position right now was all the girls ever dreamed of. Standing in front of The Rebels had never crossed in her mind. And now she was doing it so it wouldn’t be nice for her if she didn’t show any respect.

“Ah, yeah, it’s a pleasure to meet you too, Bae Joohyun-ssi,” the vocalist quickly returned the bow, followed by the youngest.

“So, did the date work–” before Jongin could finish his sentence, Chanyeol already sent a deathly glare so the younger immediately slammed his lips tight.

“Anyways,” Baekhyun interrupted, clapping his hand in the air in excitement. “We actually never brought anyone, especially a girl, here and since you’re here now, welcome to the campus studio, or we prefer to call it home.”

“Ah, thank you so much,” Joohyun nodded, sending another polite bow. “It’s honestly an honour to be the first guest here, I mean, you guys are amazing and I feel like I don’t deserve to be the first guest. Also, this place is cosy and warmer than I thought it would be,” Joohyun swept her vision all over the room, smiling brightly.

“Joohyun-ssi, please have a seat,” Sehun who had been looking at the girl’s beautiful face quickly walked to the couch, placing the pillows on the side to make space in the middle.

“Alright, I hope you guys get along,” Chanyeol said once Joohyun took a seat on the couch. He then walked to his drum set.

“Are you hungry, Joohyun-ssi?” Baekhyun took a seat next to her, putting a friendly puppy face on. “We four like eating.”

“Ah, thank you very much, but I’ve eaten before going here,” Joohyun pulled the corner of her lips to form a polite smile, placing both hands in front of her as if apologizing.

“We’re still going to order food for you, don’t worry,” Sehun added, playfully winking.

“That’s very nice of you two, Baekhyun-ssi and Sehun-ssi, really,” Joohyun looked at the two with the same smile.

“Joohyun-ssi,” Jongin cut off, making the three on the couch look at him. “Why are you here? I mean is there something we can do for you or–?”

“Ah, uh, Chanyeol said–”

“We’re friends,” now it was Chanyeol who cut off. “And I’d like to introduce my friend to my other friends.”

“Exactly,” Joohyun added, nodding with a friendly smile plastered on her face.

“Friends?” Baekhyun repeated, lifting one of his eyebrows in slight suspicion. “You sure?”

Both Joohyun and Chanyeol nodded.

“Well, that’s good then,” Sehun commented, looking pleasant out of sudden. “Joohyun-ssi, I hope we can get along.”

“We absolutely can,” Joohyun threw a sweet smile to Sehun, making the guy return the same sweet smile.

“Anyways, since you’re here now and we’re about to practice,” Jongin grabbed his guitar bass, placing it on his shoulders. “what about you give us your opinion?”

“Great! I’m so excited!” Baekhyun jumped off the couch, running to get his microphone. “The performance today is dedicated to the beautiful woman who’s sitting on the couch right now.”

Sehun followed the oldest in jumping off. “Joohyun-ssi, Joohyun-ssi, Joohyun-ssi,” he chanted the girl’s name whilst grabbing his guitar.

“Oh my God,” Joohyun couldn’t help but bite her nails in excitement. If she had to be honest, she had never been in a live performance in Korea. And this experience would change everything, especially when there were four handsome guys in one frame. She felt very lucky that she was about to fly now. “Please do your best.”

“We will, m’lady,” Sehun answered.

The band then started to sing one of their ballad songs, Sing For You. This was Baekhyun’s request because the ballad song was his best quality and he really wanted to give Joohyun a good impression of him. And since it was a ballad song that didn’t need heavy drums, Chanyeol only sat there and played minor moves.

“Gobaekal tejiman jom eosaekajiman,

Geunyang deureoyo I’ll sing for you, sing for you,

Geunyang deureoyo I’ll sing for you,” Baekhyun now sat on the couch next to Joohyun who just stopped breathing for a while. Baekhyun’s voice had incredibly stunning that it made Joohyun internally cried. She even got goosebumps.

Baekhyun ended the song with a playful wink, Joohyun squealed, couldn’t help the feeling.

“Oh my God! That was so great! Phew!” She kept fanning herself to get a bit cold. “No wonder why you all have a bunch of fans already.”

“That was one of them, Joohyun-ssi,” Baekhyun got up, walking to the corner where the snack and beverage were. Jongin followed him.

“Why don’t you guys do a live performance?”

“Well, we’re working on our first album,” Sehun answered, taking a seat next to her. “Once our album is done, we’ll surely do that.”

“Oh, so the song you just performed is an original song?” Joohyun’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Yes,” Sehun smiled, looking somehow proud. “We’re working on four more songs before sending the album to the entertainment group.”

“Ah, I see,” Joohyun nodded. “So who are the songwriters? Do you four write?”

Baekhyun and Jongin walked back with some food on their hands. They placed them on the table.

“Well, Jongin,” Sehun looked at Jongin who just sat on the floor, turning his head to Chanyeol who hadn’t moved. “And Chanyeol write most of the songs. They’re the brilliants.”

Joohyun nodded, looking at Chanyeol before giggling softly. “Don’t just sit there and be cocky, Park-ssi.”

Chanyeol scoffed, getting up then walking to the four.

“Oh, but what do you and Baekhyun-ssi do when they write songs?”

“Well,” Sehun stopped for a while before chuckling, rubbing his nape. “We either play games or watch some funny videos compilation on YouTube.”

“Ya! Don’t make me sound like a dumb, Sehun-ah, you watch more videos than I do,” Baekhyun who just opened his snack protested. “I sometimes help them in writing.”

“Excuse me, your YouTube history says otherwise,” Sehun replied, sticking his tongue out to the oldest.

Joohyun only chuckled at Sehun and Baekhyun’s funny fight. Even though Baekhyun was the oldest, he acted like a child and that made a good combination with Sehun and his childishness. Sehun sounded more excited today than he usually did. He even played some piggybacks with Baekhyun when they took a ten minutes break.

That morning Joohyun never regretted going to the campus studio.

“Where are we going?” Joohyun repeated her question when she met other stairs. She looked up at the guy’s back in front of him in confusion.

“Almost there,” the guy who was nobody but Chanyeol opened the door on the last stair, showing the blue sky outside, “welcome to the rooftop.”

They made their way up, getting greeted by the cold wind. Joohyun was slightly impressed by the view. That was just like a rooftop in general, there were roof tanks, water heaters, more water tanks, and pipes, but Joohyun had to admit that she had never been on a rooftop before so this was new for her.

“Woah, we can see Seoul from here,” Joohyun looked at the skyscrapers and the lights from there. “But, why are we here?”

“Well, I just want to let you know that this is my other house,” Chanyeol said, taking a seat near the roof tank. “This place is amazing, sometimes I feel like I get a new inspiration to write songs from up here.”

“Oh, that’s cool,” Joohyun made O-shaped lips, taking her phone out. “Let me take a picture of the beautiful scenery.” She then walked closer to the edge, taking some pictures. “I lost signal from up here.”

“That’s normal,” Chanyeol got up, walking towards her. “They blocked cellphone signal for the water heater machine.”

“Ah, I see,” Joohyun nodded, leaning her elbows on the railings. “Anyways, Chanyeol, thank you for today.”

Chanyeol furrowed his eyebrows. “For what, exactly?”

“Well, for letting me meet your friends, they’re funny and adorable,” Joohyun chuckled, picturing what Sehun and Baekhyun did a few hours ago. “Also, for bringing me here. I’ve never been on a rooftop in my life, just to let you know.”

“Really?” Chany
