Author's POV

"I don't see why they always have this stupid carnival every year, no one ever comes anymore!" Namjoon complained as he kicked an empty soda can across the sidewalk.

"We're here you idiot." Yoongi retorted back as he shoved his hands into his jeans. Jungkook snickered and looked down at the ground to hide his small chuckle. Namjoon glared at Yoongi and rolled his eyes.

"I don't see why we just didn't bring your car, Yoongi!" Nmajoon complained as he pulled his hoodie over his head and shoved his hands in his pockets. "It's so cold out tonight!"

Yoongi scoffed, "Do you not know how expensive gas is right now? If you hate walking in this slightly cold night, get a cab!" Namjoon pouted his lips and grumbled, "Whatever."

The three buddies had decided to go out to eat on such a nice spring night and had ended up at the Spring Fair Busan had always held around this time in April. Although it was still cold out, and the air was damp from the light showers of rain Busan received a couple times a day, the boys had no problem with covering up with warm oversized sweaters and grabbing something to eat right after work. Namjoon always talked poorly of the fair, but he was always the first one to suggest going to 'kill time'. Although he tried hiding it, very poorly, he was always excited to get there and see all the games and prizes, and never forgot to mention all the good street foods that were being sold in every corner.

"It's embarrassing to say that you're a 23 year old that still gets excited over something like this." Yoongi mumbled out.

"Hey, you're here too!"

"Because you dragged us here!"

"No I didn't! I said we should cut through here so that we could get to the convenience store faster!"

"Oh, I'm so sure!"

"I did!"

Jungkook watched as his hyungs bickered at one another and couldn't help but laugh at the scene in front of him as he shook his head. "What a bunch of children." He muttered to himself as he walked behind them slowly, shoving his hands in his sweater's pockets. It was always the same with these two. Always arguing and fighting, but when the two were completely drunk or immersed in some tv show they enjoyed watching together, Jungkook swore they were secret lovers who could never keep their hands off each other. He looked up at the stary night sky and sighed. He hated how the stars could be easily seen even with the slight fog blanketing the sky. If he was in Seoul, all of these twinkling lights up high in the sky would be completely taken over by the twinkling city lights of the tall buildings and cars in the street.

He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath as he walked, putting one foot in front of the other slowly. He imagined himself strutting down the side walks of the Los Angeles city of South Korea, and couldn't help but let a small smile creep upon his soft lips. What would it smell like? What would it sound like? What would it be like? To see all of these beautiful people walk pass him with their fur coats and high heels. The men dressed up in fancy suits and fancy designer shoes. The expensive cars passing by every second! It was his dream to visit. To live there and make a life of his own. But of course that would never happen.

Jungkook wasn't your average 20 year old boy. He lived in a foster home, along with 8 more abandoned children. He was told to move out once he turned 18 by the court, and start living like a real man. Like an adult. But the only thing Jungkook knew was that house. That was his home, and his family. Yes, it was crowded and he had to sleep on the living room couch, but every morning, he would get woken up by his little brothers and sisters, and a well cooked breakfast by his Foster Mother. So, when he was being warned, he pleaded to the judge to let him stay under one condition. He would work, and help pay the bills of the poorly built flat he called home. The judge gave it some thought, and after a week of waiting, Jungkook got the confirmation call. He had never felt so relieved in his life.

In the beginning, everything started off good. He had an average job, and worked as the barista at a bakery. He made coffees everyday and couldn't find anything else as boring as that, but he had to do it. It wasn't a great job, but it paid the bills. It paid him enough to help out with his Foster Mother, and leave a little bit of pocket money for himself. But after some time, he slacked off. He started waking up late for work, or sometimes wouldn't show up at all. He got tired of the same ol' thing everyday and just started not giving a damn. He got a call 2 days later, and was immediately fired. At first, Jungkook brushed it off. He didn't seem too bothered by it, and continued sleeping until 3 in the afternoon, and coming home late from who knows where. After his Foster Mother started asking where the money was at, Jungkook started panicking.

He had forgotten about his deal, and the judge was starting to take notice of his slack off. Jungkook, with all his pride and dignity bottled up, went to his boss and pleaded him to take him back. He made up a little white lie and said that his mother was sick, and he was the only one there to take care of her. The boss felt pity and gave him his job back, with the condition that he had to work extra harder, and to give a notice when he needs his days off. With all of this money spending, and barely having enough money to buy himself something nice, he knew that his dream to visit Seoul had to be kept a dream. He knew it was never going to become true, and he had finally came to terms with that. But it didn't mean he couldn't think about it, or look at the magazines that showed the recent Seoul fashion. It just meant that he had to hide the idea in the back of his head, way in the back.

He was suddenly pulled out of his false world when an arm was swung aroung his shoulder. His eyes shot open and his head turned to his side, mouth slightly open. Yoongi raised his eyebrows and let out a small chuckle, "Gotta get that idea out of your head, Jungkookie." Yoongi said with a sigh as he wrapped his other arm around Namjoon, knowing exactly what his friend was daydreaming about. "You and I both know that with the way you're living right now, it would be a miracle for you to go. I'm not trying to sound like a complete dickhead, but I'm just trying to tell you how it is. It seeing you like this. Daydreaming about an idea that can't be possibly done. Besides, why would you want to leave, when you got us?" Yoongi squeezed Namjoon's neck and put him in a head lock as he leaned his cheek on the top of his head. Namjoon winced in pain and grabbed onto Yoongi's arm. "Hyung!" He screeched out. Jungkook chuckled and wrapped his arm around Yoongi's waist, "Who said I was planning on leaving you guys behind?"

"I knew you wouldn't be able to live without us." Yoongi said with a soft smile.

He really couldn't. Jungkook met Yoongi and Namjoon at the bakery. They were co workers and at first, Jungkook was scared to even ask either one for help, but after seeing the poor boy struggle, they helped him out on their own and after that, a beautiful friendship bloomed between the three baristas. Now, even though Jungkook hated working at the bakery, working with his two best friends couldn't be better. They would joke around and mess with each other, and time flew by for Jungkook when he was with them.

Jungkook gave a small smile back to Yoongi, before looking down at the ground and letting out a small sigh. "Cheer up, huh?" Namjoon said as he slapped the back of Jungkook's neck, "Look, we made it to the food!" He said as he pointed at the small lit up convenience store. Relieved that their hunger was finally going to be taken over by the yummy food they’re about to devour with complete happiness, the boys let out cheers of excitement as the jogged over to their daily 'restaurant' of fine dining.

The boys sat outside after buying their soda cans and bowls of their now fully cooked ramen and started to immediately dig in. "Hyung, why don't you buy beer?" Jungkook asked as he blew on his steaming ramen.

"Uhhh because it's expensive, and because you're a minor?" Yoongi said as he looked at Jungkook with an "are you kidding me?" look.

Jungkook scoffed, “I’m not a minor!” he pouted out and looked at Namjoon, "Why don't you buy beer?" Namjoon looked up, and before he could answer, he was already receiving a glare from Yoongi, "I don't drink." He blurted out nervously.

Jungkook drooped his shoulder and gave Namjoon an annoyed face, "Bull."

Chapter 1: I’m not sure whether or not I should recommend watching the movie (Kimi No Na Wa) because it’s a what the YouTube video was likely to have been based upon but I also really like how this fic isn’t based so much on the movie... that made no sense...
