“I can’t believe we’re really going to the sea!” Baekhyun excitedly exclaimed while looking outside the car’s window.

Chanyeol couldn’t help but smile widely at the cute sight of the petite boy looking like an overly-excited puppy as he pressed his face against the glass.

“If I knew you liked the sea this much I would have taken you there sooner!” Chanyeol laughed.

It had already been a month since that unexpected night at the club, and apart from some dates around the city, this was the first time Chanyeol and Baekhyun went on an actual trip together. Despite being November, the two had the luck to set their trip’s date on a sunny and cloudless day, the perfect weather for a walk by the seashore.

Within just two hours the boys saw the sea outside Chanyeol car’s window, meaning that they reached their destination. Baekhyun quickly opened the door and jumped off the car the moment Chanyeol turned off the engine. With sparkly eyes and mouth wide open, the blonde boy couldn’t help but stare mesmerized at the view in front of him. Chanyeol reached him shortly after, taking the spot next to his companion. Seeing the happy expression painted all over the younger’s face, the curly boy could feel his heart thumping loudly. Being able to bring such a smile on Baekhyun’s lips made him unreasonably fluttered.

After a few minutes of silence, Chanyeol decided to place a hand on top of Baekhyun’s head, jokingly ruffling his blonde hair, the latter immediately snapping back to reality.

“Sorry, I spaced out!” Baekhyun shyly apologized looking up at Chanyeol, realizing he froze there for quite a while.

“It’s fine, I’m quite impressed as well! It’s been a while since I last came to the beach!” Chanyeol stated, flashing the other a reassuring smile. “Shall we get going?” the taller asked, directing his gaze towards the catwalk which lead to the seashore.

“Yep!” the blonde boy squeaked excitedly, immediately starting to walk in that direction as he pulled Chanyeol with him.

The two reached the seashore in no time, and amazed “woah” leaving their mouths as they found themselves standing in front of the vast sheet of water. Before Chanyeol could say anything, his attention was drawn by the smaller, who crouched down. The boy quickly untied his shoes laces, taking off both his Converse and his socks. He quickly stood up, now standing on his bare feet, a wide grin spread all over his face.

“Baek, you’ll catch a cold like that!” Chanyeo pointed out worriedly.

“You have to walk bare feet when going to the beach!” Baekhyun answered with resolution. “It’s not the same if you don’t do so!”

Chanyeol looked hesitant for a moment, until he decided that “yes, Baekhyun was definitely right”. Without further complaints, the tall boy took off his own shoes, immediately enjoying the feeling of sinking his feet in the sand.

“See? Am I not right?” Baekhyun giggled satisfied as he received a firm nod from Chanyeol. “Let’s go!”

Without hesitating, Baekhyun enlaced his and Chanyeol’s hands together before starting to walk along the seashore, just a few meters away from the waves’ reach. Chanyeol happily followed him, taking a few large steps in order to walk by the younger’s side. The curly boy couldn’t help but take quick glances at their hands, tightly clasped together. Usually, he was the one who took the initiative to take Baekhyun’s hand in his. That’s why, as Baekhyun held his hand so naturally like it had just happened, Chanyeol thought his heart was going to explode. He could see how more relaxed Baekhyun looked now around him, compared from the first time they met and their first dates. He felt like they already had come a long way, and what thrilled Chanyeol was that it was just the beginning.

The two walked for a long time, talking about every topic that crossed their minds. Sometimes Baekhyun would just suddenly jump in the waves with his feet, dragging Chanyeol along with him. They almost didn’t run into anyone else as they kept strolling around, as if that beach, just for that special day, was being forgotten by everyone.

“Chanyeol –“ Baekhyun suddenly whined, looking up at his tall companion.

“Mmmh?”

“Can we rest for a bit? “ Baekhyun shyly asked.

“Oh, of course!” Chanyeol exclaimed. “I’m a bit tired as well!” he admitted.

The two took a few steps away from the sea, deciding to sit down on the soft sand, one close to each other.

“I don’t remember the last time I did this much physical activity!” Baekhyun laughed.

“I guess I’ll have to take you play basketball with me then!” Chanyeol replied, the guy being more on the sporty side.

“But I can’t even dunk!” Baekhyun pouted.  “I’m too short for basketball!”

“Then I’ll have no choice but lift you, so you can dunk like a pro!” Chanyeol proposed, making Baekhyun burst out laughing.

“Deal!” Baekhyun exclaimed. Being lifted in the air would probably make him look like a little kid, but who cares as long it means he can spend more time with Chanyeol.

“Wait.” Chanyeol suddenly snapped. “Is it today Sehun and Luhan’s date?” Chanyeol asked, remembering Sehun getting all dressed up and leaving their apartment a short while before him.

“Yes! Luhan was quite nervous actually!” Baekhyun giggle, thinking about his friend, who changed at least ten sweaters before choosing his outfit for the date. “I hope everything’s going well…”

“As long as Sehun doesn’t mess up it should be fine!” Chanyeol laughed. “That guy can be quite stubborn sometimes!”

“Then he found a good match! Luhan’s on the stubborn side as well!” Baekhyun stated. Luhan is one of his best friends, and there was no doubt he was one of the kindest and most caring persons he knew. Still, childness was definitely a strong trait of his personality.

“I guess those two will make an interesting duo!” Chanyeol smiled, already looking forward to ear from Sehun how their date went.

“You said I could choose the movie!” Luhan exclaimed, glaring at Sehun from his short height.

“Yes I did, but only if you choose a decent movie!” Sehun answered back, arms crossed, and a smirk spread all over his face. “I’m not watching a tearjerker one!”

“I guess I have no choice…” Luhan suddenly stated. Sehun could have sworn to have seen an evil grin forming on the blonde boy’s lips for a second.

“What do you mean…” Sehun tried to ask, before his jaw dropped.

The little guy in front of him suddenly buried his face between his hands, the sound of sobs coming from his lips getting stronger.

“I – I though you wanted to s - spend some time with me…” Luhan started, purposely rising his voice louder than necessary. “I g – guess I was wrong…” he continued, his shoulders jolting between exaggerated sobs.

“Are you kidding me?” Sehun muttered, aware of the stares people were giving them. “Ya, Luhan, people is glaring at me!” he whispered, getting near to the other boy’s ear.

Luhan lifted his head for a second, flashing Sehun a mischievous grin.
