The Fault of Perfection | OSH'Dear Sehun,'
It was dark in his room, with only his desk lamp casting a light glow on the letter in front of him. Sehun's eyes stared at the first two words flatly, completely void of emotion.
'First of all, I'd like to apologise. I didn't tell you that I was leaving because I wanted to cherish the last few days I had with you without you worrying about me. I wanted you to focus on getting better (in fact I still do - your health is important!), so I didn't want it to distract you.'
Chanyeol had given him this letter after dinner. The tall male had quietly entered Sehun's room, his face carefully masked as he handed the small, sealed white envelope, murmuring a soft, 'I'm sorry.' But his facade couldn't fool Sehun. The latter could clearly see the infinite sadness, guilt and heartbreak in reflected in his cousin's eyes.
He almost wanted to be angry, but he knew he couldn't.
'Second of all, I'd like to say thank you. Thank you for giving me all those second chances, letting me stay and find my place, and helping me grow as a person.
Thank you for believing in me and giving me something to fight for.'
Sehun closed his eyes and grit his teeth, rubbing his eyelids. He wouldn't cry. Not now.
'I never thought I'd be the one sitting here, on a hospital bed while completely alone and writing to someone I loved, trying to say goodbye. It's harder than I thought.
I'm scared, Sehun. I don't want to die.'
The last 5 words were shakier than others. He could see two spots on the page, where the paper had been wet and dried again. She'd been crying. His grip on the paper tightened as his fists clenched.
