Cora insisted that Mark and his friends stay the night – something about it being late and her being worried. Mark thought it was cute how she thought they could be hurt.

They left anyway due to her lack of space, but not before Jaya making Mark promise to watch the movie with her – albeit, not in so many words. Still, it was an unspoken agreement.

The next morning, the first thing Jaebum did was to question Mark about the encounter with Jaya, but all Mark did was shrug, because he had no idea himself. One by one their pack filtered in – overhearing the conversation between the alpha and the beta.

“Wait, Mark hyung,” BamBam interrupted them, “What was it like when you saw her?”

“I don’t know –” Mark replied, honestly tired of all this talk. He just wanted some breakfast, “It was kind of like-“

“Like everything slowed down around you?” His dongsaeng explained it, a bit too accurately for his liking, “She was the only thing you could see in that exact moment, when you were introduced to the most mouth-watering scent ever?”

“How do you-” Mark started, his eyebrows furrowed in confusing, trying to figure out how BamBam would be able to know exactly what he was feeling. ”What’re-“

“Dude, you found your mate yesterday and you didn’t even know it,”

Everyone turned to look at Mark, but he was too busy going over everything in his head. His mate. His mate. It was both thrilling and terrifying. Thrilling in the sense that he met the woman that he’d marry, impregnate and spend the rest of his life with (given that she didn’t shun him for being a wolf) and terrifying where he had absolutely no idea how to go about this and no idea if it would work out between them.

No one said anything at first, what with it being so sudden, but then Jackson asked a question that made JB hit him in the back of the head;

“So, what does she smell like?”

Mark didn’t reply to him. He was too busy thinking about how he was going to get the most intr
