V. Oracle

Blood Moon

The next day quickly arrived and Haein felt no where near ready to face Minhyun again. She couldn't help but have an overpowering fear of him, especially considering the history between witches and vampires. Let's just say it's not a pretty one. At least I'm not alone...

Haein looked over at Daniel, one of the only people she truly felt comfortable and safe with. She barely knew him and yet, he had proven himself time and time again as a worthy friend and protector for her. Haein felt grateful and in a sense indebted to him.

The two of them had shown up at the neighboring park, at three o'clock as promised. They walked around, simply looking around for Minhyun so they could just get this whole thing over with. Soon enough they did, but he wasn't alone.

Standing beside Minhyun was Seongwoo, Yunhee, and a mysterious woman who wore a veil over her face. Cautiously, Haein and Daniel approached the group.

"Who is this?" Daniel questioned immediately, not trusting Minhyun for even a minute. "This is Rae, she's my oracle."

Daniel raised an eyebrow at Minhyun. "You're kidding, right?"

Minhyun scoffed and went to answer, but was interrupted by Haein. "She's supernatural..."

"Nice senses." Seongwoo spoke up, attempting to be funny but failing to do so in such a serious moment.

"But, how is this possible?" Haein questioned, with Daniel looking over at her confused. "She's a werewolf and a vampire..."

Daniel quickly looked over at Rae, shocked to even be in the presence of such a rare hybrid. "Impossible."

Rae sighed loudly, "I'm afraid so, Daniel." She removed the veil shocking Daniel for a second time.

"J—Jinhee Noona?! But, you died..." Daniel staggered side to side, being balanced by Haein's hands.

"I wasn't fully dead, Minhyun saved my life just when I was beginning to think I was done for." Jinhee responded.

Daniel took in a sharp breath, "Then why hide this entire time? Do you understand what's happened since then? How your death has not only destroyed Jisung but also Jinyoung?"

"Jisung's alive?!" Jinhee asked shocked, tears forming in her eyes. "B—But, I saw them nearly rip him apart!"

"He survived, only because Sungwoon single-handedly drug his dying body to a hospital." Daniel explained, casting his eyes downwards. "We couldn't find you and assumed the worst. Jinyoung's entire life was destroyed then and there. Jisung was in a coma for nearly a month, he only fully recovered just before the new school year started."

Tears fell from Jinhee's eyes, relieved that Jisung had survived. "I only survived because I crawled away, bleeding out from the vampire venom coursing through my body, it was killing me. Minhyun and Jaehwan found me, I was only saved because Jaehwan begged Minhyun for my life."

"Her wounds quickly healed after I fed her my blood. I took her into my home as I had no idea who she was and where I'd even return her to, not to forget to mention that she was now a hybrid and an unknown danger to everyone else." Minhyun quickly explained, clearing up where Jinhee had disappeared to.

"I only hid because I thought it would protect the pack, plus I thought the love of my life was dead..." Jinhee looked away at the last part of her sentence, obviously looking guilty about something.

Daniel sighed, frustrated. "Well, Jinyoung has been a wreck ever since. I know you thought that would've been best at the time, but it really wasn't your smartest move, Noona."

Jinhee continued to look down at her hands, quickly covering herself back up with the veil. She was very obviously conflicted, but decided to push the current topic away. "We have more important things to discuss."

"Do we really—" "Yes, we do." Minhyun interrupted Daniel, with a stern glance. "Please continue, Rae."

Jinhee took in a deep breath, closing her eyes. She reopened them, the color of the iris of her eyes now a greyish color compared to the earlier red color.

"What I have to say is very important and dire, so please listen carefully." Jinhee explained, waiting for the others to nod.

"Ever since becoming a hybrid, I've had powerful visions. I gained this "power" of sorts due to being now half vampire. My most powerful vision happened just weeks ago, and it was of Haein." Haein looked at Jinhee shocked, almost nervous to hear what she'd have to say next.

"Haein is a witch, but she never told you about what coven she belongs to. Haein belongs to a rare witch coven, known as Le Blanc; literally meaning the white in French. However, Haein being from this clan isn't the problem, isn't Haein?" Jinhee asked, looking at Haein now.

Haein looked down, almost ashamed to think about what Jinhee was referring to. "What's she talking about?" Daniel questioned, earning no response in return from Haein.

"Every three hundred years, a special witch comes out of this specific coven. This particular witch is extremely powerful and dangerous, meaning that Haein could potentially harm everyone around her including herself. She already has one offense after all."

Daniel looked at Haein in shock, the witch in return refusing to meet his eyes. "What did you do...?"

"Haein's father is a non-supernatural being, her witch mother having died when giving birth to him. Due to this, Haein inherited all of the supernatural power in her family, being a full-fledged witch. However, a few months ago, the elders of her coven erased her father's memories of magic and the supernatural world, casting him out of their community. Haein, didn't take this too well, I'm afraid—"

"Stop it!" Haein yelled, crying now. "Please, stop it..." She put her head in her hands, the tears coming full force now.

Jinhee, completely emotionless, continued anyways. "I'm afraid Haein didn't learn through her elders however. She learned through her coven peers, as they openly mocked her father to her face. Haein couldn't handle the news and erupted, quite literally. She nearly killed five of her fellow coven members by setting them all on fire. Her elders were terrified of Haein and kicked her out; She moved here and has been living with her father, who doesn't—"

Unable to handle it anymore, Haein ran up to Jinhee and slapped her. Hard. Jinhee fell off the bench, immediately having Minhyun rushing to her side. "What are you doing?!"

Haein didn't answer, instead storming off, far away from all of this pain and regret. Jinhee's eyes faded black to red and then back to grey again. Before Daniel could run after Haein, she latched onto his arm. "Daniel, you have to stop her from going down a destructive path! My vision ends with everyone she cares about being dead and her alone forever."

Daniel, officially freaked out, pushed Jinhee off and ran after Haein. "Haein, wait!"

After a little running, Daniel finally caught up to Haein, who was now sitting on a bench while crying her eyes out. "Haein—"

"Don't touch me! You heard her, I'm dangerous..." Haein cried, curling up into a ball.

Not hesitating even for a second longer, Daniel engulfed Haein in a tight hug. "You're not dangerous, so please tell me what is going on with you. I don't want to hear it from Jinhee, I want to hear it from you."

Haein slowly lifted her head, looking Daniel in the eyes. "My powers came to me at a young age. I thought it was normal that I could do all of these crazy things, but I was wrong. I was ahead of my peers magically and was completely ignorant of it. I didn't mean to hurt those other witches and wizards, I swear! No one would believe me then, but it's the truth. They tried to burn me first..."

Daniel looked in shock as Haein revealed a scarred up burn on the back of her neck and shoulder blades. "I was using magic to hide it because of fear, I didn't want people to ask me why I had the scars. I'm still scared... Am I really going to destory everything that I touch?"

Haein's whole body began to shudder as she sobbed loudly. She hated herself. Why do I destroy everything I touch?

Without even thinking, Daniel hugged Haein closer to his chest, not wanting to let the girl he loves feel such pain. "No, you won't. I'll make sure you never do anything you'll regret."

Haein looked up at his through tear filled eyes, unsure if she should let herself even feel the slightest bit reassured right now. Daniel smiled warmly at her and pressed his forehead against her, causing Haein's cheeks to turn a bright red.

"I wouldn't imprint on just anyone afterall, you're important to me. I'll protect you, no matter what. I promise you, Joo Haein." Daniel's words flowed through Haein as she felt her whole body become warmer and warmer. Am I falling for a werewolf?

Haein took in a deep breath, inhaling a bit of Daniel's scent, though it was mainly cologne. "Thank you, Daniel. We should probably head back and listen to what Jinhee has to say. I have to stay level-headed if I'm gonna make it out of this in one whole piece."

With a wide grin, Daniel took Haein's hand and led her back to Jinhee and Minhyun. The vampire and hybrid stood patiently, though Minhyun seemed displeased with the pair holding hands. "Alright Rae, please continue."

"Thank you, Minhyun." Jinhee spoke calmly. "As I was saying, Minhyun is an important key in this whole vision. He's the only one I've seen in any possible future outcome to fully contain Haein's uncontrollable magic power. She's to become his partner, I foreseen it and it will come to pass."

"His what?!" Daniel asked angrily, looking just as upset if not more than Haein. "No way in hell is that happening."

"There's nothing you can do to stop it, Daniel. I've seen her future with every vampire and werewolf in this city. None of them work, only Minhyun. He's the only one powerful enough to protect and guide her through this." Jinhee spoke sternly.

"No, you must of seen it all wrong. There's no way Haein would fall in love with a blood- kidnapper like Minhyun!" Daniel argued, Minhyun glared back at him with gritted teeth. "Watch what you say, mutt."

"Fine, you don't believe me," Jinhee's voice grew dark as her eyes turned from grey to completely black. "I'll tell you about the future I foresaw for you and Haein then."

She walked in front of Daniel and looked into his eyes, the werewolf felt chills go down his spine in response.

"In the future I saw, Haein kills you Daniel. It's the day she loses all control, bringing destruction and chaos to everyone around her. You try to convince her to go back to her normal self, the self that you've fallen for. And you know what happens?" Jinhee paused, waiting for Daniel to guess but he doesn't. "She stabs you in the heart with a pure silver stake. Your death brings her back to reality and to a world of utter grief and misery. Haein ends up hated, alone, and miserable. Shall I continue?"

Daniel shakes his head and finally tears his eyes away from Jinhee's. There's no way that would actually happen, right? Before he can even say anything, Haein speaks up first.

"I don't give two s what your visions foretold. I'll decide my own future, with whomever I want!" Haein shakily, yet confidently yelled out.

"I'm afraid your false confidence will be your demise, young witch." Jinhee spoke sternly, eyes still black.

"I'll prove you wrong. I won't destroy or hurt anyone. I can promise you that." Haein said firmly, glaring into Jinhee's black orbs.

Without even a second glance, Haein grabbed Daniel's wrist. "Come on, Daniel. Let's go, I've heard enough."

Not even protesting, Daniel followed Haein, leaving the park and the two other supernatural beings behind. But, Daniel couldn't help but wonder to himself: Will I be able to change the future for Haein and I? I have to try!

Minhyun watched the two fleeting figures in the distance before turning back to Jinhee. "Rae, what must I do to win over the witch? I refuse to let their foolishness kill us all."

"You have to treat her with kindness. Be patient and allow her to open up to you over time. That's the only way." Jinhee spoke softly, her eyes finally fading back to grey.

She turned and faced Minhyun directly, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "You're the only one who can do this. Fall in love with Joo Haein and earn her love back in return."

Minhyun nodded. He already felt himself falling for the witch, despite her obvious hate for him. I just have to win her over and get her away from that mangy mutt. Joo Haein, you're mine.
