The feeling of anxiety spread through Joohyun's body, she'd mever felt nervous like this for her whole life to the point that she could no longer manage to control her own emotions, her hands keeps trembling and her chest were thumping loud and fast, she's afraid that it'll eventually falls out of her body. Their pace quickened as they walked towards the direction of the ICU.  It was only been more than an hour since they arrived from Maldives(thankfully they manage to catch up the last flight to Korea) and she was still a little bit dizzy because of the jet lag, but she manage to kept her composure on steady. She immediately spotted her dad with some of his men, and they were all standing outside the room. Joohyun's brows scrunches when she notice her dad in his current state; he was leaning on the wall, eyes were staring on the empty space infront of him, he looks disoriented, cheeks were red and eyes were puffy perhaps from too much crying, his hair was a little bit disheveled, his white polo shirt were wrinkled and left untucked, his face were crestfallen. He looks like a complete mess and Joohyun couldn't help but felt worried. The last time she saw his dad in this state was when her mom died. That's a terrible memory and she doesn't want to remember about it anymore.

Everyone knows her dad as the tough man as he was but little did they know that he's a complete opposite of that when it comes to her family, he's really soft and a loving husband and father. In Joohyun's eyes, he's always the gentle and caring father of her and Seulgi. The person who she knows that will gonna do everything for his family whatever the situation is just to make sure they're always safe and protected. 

She bit on her lips to prevent herself from tearing up. Her emotions were starting to build up again but there's no way she will allow that to happen, she will not going to cry and show any of her weaknesses infront of her dad, not when she knows he needs her, her strength. She need to be strong for him and for Seulgi. 

Wendy was gripping on her hands, tightly but not too tight to hurt her. It's quiet firm but almost gentle. It feels like she wanted for Joohyun to know that whatever happened she will not let go. Joohyun couldn't help but to felt too much thankful for having a wife like Wendy who could undestand her even if she didn't say anything. For Joohyun, Wendy's presence was enough to wash away all the burden that'll starting to build up inside of her. 

"Don't worry, nothing bad will gonna to happen to Seul. She's a tough girl, remember?"

Wendy assured her once and flash her a comforting smile, that simple gesture was enough to finally calmed her heart beat down and make her felt at ease.The warmth radiating through their intertwined hands was just a plus point to convince Joohyun that everything will going to be fine, that Seulgi will be okay, that nothing bad will gonna happen to her. 

Finally, after gathering some strength, they both decided to approach the older man. Joohyun immediately give her dad a warm and comforting hug, soothing him. Even without saying a words, Joohyun knows, at this moment, that her dad need someone to lean on though he didn't show nor say it. His family is his main weakness, and it made him look fragile and vulnerable, very opposite to his usual strong and powerful aura. 

"You're here." her dad faintly whisper next to her ears and she nodded her head afterwards tightening her hug around him, drawing small circle on his back as she say, "Yes dad, I'm here and I'll not going anywhere. I'll not leave you again."

Moment like this Joohyun wish that here mom was still here and alive. Frankly speaking, she's not that tough to be her dad's substitute whenever he feels down, but her mom can. She could effortless ease the unpleasant feelings that her dad feels whenever he's having trouble or when he already felt of losing up to his own weaknesses. It just like, her mom was her dad's strength and energizer that whenever she's around, her dad's mood swiftly lighten up and eventually he feels appease.

But her mom wasn't here anymore and the only thing that Joohyun could have ever think of to do is to stay there beside her father and lend her a comforting shoulder. Words aren't anymore needed and they both knows it. Just in each other's presence and a simple soothing touch is enough for him and so that what Joohyun did.

​​It's been a month since the accident that involves Seulgi happened. She was still in the process of recovery but everything is almost in a good terms. Thankfully, she had been immediately brought to the hospital and got assisted by the hospital staffs before she lost all her bloods and breathing.

The main reason why Seulgi got involved in that accident remain a big mystery for Joohyun. She tried to asked about it to her dad and to his subordinates but they're all keep avoiding and dropping the topic everytime she attempted to pry them for some details. It happened many times and Joohyun felt ignore repeatedly until she finally get tired of it and decided to just drop the topic and completely forget about it, she can't do anything about it anyways if they really don't want to tell anything to her then she need to accept it.

"Unnie?" Joohyun snapped out of her reverie when she heard a faint voice calling for her attention. There, lying next to her on the hospital bed is her little sister, looking expectantly at her. Joohyun bit back a smile as she reach to Seulgi hair and tucking the strand behind her ears. 

Seulgi was still on the recovery stage hence, she's still weak and a bit paler for her normal skin color. Her lips was a little bit chapped and the dark circles below her eyes were almost visible now; however nothing much to worry about since things are almost half in progress compared to the previous weeks, she can already manage to move her body by her own without someone's assistance and even open to talked without such difficulties.

"Do you need something, Seul?" she asked softly, the soft smile never leaving her lips. 

Seulgi stared at her for a moment before she broke into a faint smile. "You're spacing out earlier. Are you okay?" there's a hint of concern in her voice and she scrunches her face into a small frown. 

Joohyun pursed her lips as she say, "I'm fine. I'm just thinking about something but there's nothing to worry, it's not really that important." 

Lies. Seulgi knows it was a lie for that reason, she choose to push it a little further just incase she could manage to make the older slip out the truth from her own mouth. 

"Are you sure?" Joohyun only give her a small nod and this time, Seulgi decided to acknowledge the silent response though she knows that it was only her sister's form of cover up to immediately terminate the topic.  

Suddenly, they heard a soft knock on the door catching both of their attention. They look at each other for a moment, both puzzled before Joohyun finally cut in and volunteer herself to check for the unknown visitor. 

"Wait here, I'll just go and check for it."  she excused and immediately walked for the door. Seulgi waited there silently until Joohyun came back with someone trailing (hiding) behind her. 

"Looks like someone wanted to visit you." Joohyun smirk teasingly. Seulgi raised a questioning eyebrow at her before she notice the familiar figure peeking behind the older woman. Her lips slowly forming a wide smile when she finally recognize the person's identity as she spoke "Hey, Girlfriend!" she said in a teasing tone, weakly waving her hands in the process. 

They heard a soft groaned before the person step out from Joohyun's behind, squinting her eyes at the girl lying on the hospital bed as she say, "I told you stop calling me that. I'm not your girlfriend, pabo!" The younger girl in the room grumbled causing the older girls to burst out into a fit of a hearty chuckled. 

"You're really fun to tease, Yerimmie~" Seulgi said as soon as their laughter dies down. 

Yeri scoff, balling her free hand into a fist as she stamp her feet towards the smiling bear-like girl. Seulgi gasp and yelp in surprise when Yeri suddenly hit her hard on her side with the teddy bear stuff toy in her hand. 

"Ouch! That hurts." The mono-lid eye girl complained as she rub the part where Yeri hit her.

"Really? Then stop teasing me if you don't want to get hurt again!"

"Wow! You just hit me but instead of saying you are sorry, you choose to blame me? Wow! Like wow! You're the best girlfriend in the whole wide world. Thank you so much." Seulgi commented sarcastically. 

"Would you just stop calling me your girlfriend! I'm not yours!"

"Did you just came her to shout at me like that?!"

"I'm not shouting at you! I'm explaining things to you, that's quiet different, pabo!"

"But you're raising your voice at me. Isn't it what you call shouting?" 

"Arghh! Why are you so dense?!"

"I'm not dense! Stop mocking at me, you little!'

"Then stop acting as one! Like for goodness sake Seulgi you are not a toddler anymore, but you always act as one!"

"Wow! Say the one who hit a sick person like a retard!"

"Did you just call me- oh my gosh! You called me retard?!"

"If that's how you hear it."

"Yah!"

"Okay stop!" As long as Joohyun wanted to hear more of their bickering because she really find it cute whenever the two argue like an old married couple, she decided to intervened this time before the bickering ended up into a complete boxing match. She squeezed herself between the two and spread her arms into a lateral position to put just enough distance between the two bickering couples. She sigh when she didn't received any form of complaint coming from the two before she decided to spoke " I do understand that you really missed each other but please if you wanted to show your love for each other you should have inform me or atleast, wait for me to take my leave"

"Unnie!" As expected the two complained in unison. Joohyun chuckled a bit when she notice the tint of pink spreading from both of their cheeks. Cute. 

"You're such a malicious-minded unnie" Seulgi muttered, her head bows low as though feeling shy all of a sudden. 

Joohyun bit on her lips to stop the grin that is threatening to came out from her lips. Sometimes it's really fun to younger sister because her reaction were on a higher level. It's cute but also embarrasing at the same time. 

"Okay, I think I should really need to take my leave now just so you know...you could have some quality time together."

"Wait what? "Yeri snapped, "You're leaving us here alone unnie?" she asked in panic, her eyes bulged out and Joohyun was scared it will eventually falls out from it's et if she continue doing that.

"Yes. " she firmly nodded, pursing her lips together.

"But- "
