(Special) Stay away from me

Doha glanced at his phone on the table where he was cleaning it after his late lunch. He returned from the class a bit later than usual as he stayed back to finish an assignment. Doha picked up the call when he saw his mother’s calling. “Hello? Mom.”

“My son. How are you?”

“Just fine. How about you? Is it okay at the new place?” The mother chuckled lightly.

“I’m fine. You can rest assure, I made a right choice don’t worry.” Doha chuckled to his mother’s reply. “Oh, your father and I are going for the honeymoon today. And there’s about your stepbrother.”

“What’s up?”

“Your father transferred him to your college. He’s performing badly in his academic and your father wanted you to help and look out for him. So, I told your brother to stay with you.” Doha paused.

“What? But mom, I didn’t even meet him once. He didn’t attend the wedding. We’re stranger, how to stay together?” Doha said in panic. His mother continued calmly.

“He’s your brother now, a family. No more stranger, I think it’s a good choice for him to stay with you. At least both of us won’t worry about him. Please, look out for him okay? Don’t let him fail his class this semester. Be a good brother, Doha.” Doha was about to say something when he heard his stepfather was calling for his mother in the background. “I need to go, take care, my son. Be good.”

“Mom-” The line was cut. Doha huffed. “Why don’t you just say you want to enjoy your marriage life and dump the problem to me?” Doha rolled his eyes. He wasn’t serious with his words, he loves his mother. He of course wanted his mother to be happy. But the problem now, he didn’t really like the fact that he needed to stay with someone in his precious house, moreover it was his stepbrother that he yet to know the identity. He didn’t even know the name.

Doha sighed and continued to wash the dishes after that. He looked around of his small apartment. A kitchenette with a dining table for two persons, a small living room that had a three-seated couch completed with small coffee table beside it and opened bedroom that located beside the big sliding door connected to a small veranda where his laundry placed. His bedroom was consisting of a queen-sized bed and a wardrobe with mirror attached to its door. The small square of his apartment was ideal for one person living and Doha felt heavy thinking about the new person that he was forced to share this small space.

Doha was doing a report when he heard a knock at his door. His doorbell broke two days ago and he didn’t bother to repair as he didn’t have enough money for that. Doha got up and walked to the door. He opened the door and saw a very familiar face. “What the-”

“You stay here?” Doha didn’t answer when the guy in front of him asked.

“Why are you here?” Doha asked back. The guy crossed his arms and smirked.

“You think?” Doha rolled his eyes and slammed the door. He didn’t want to continue the conversation the most annoying person he bumped to this morning. Because of the guy in front of his door, he was late to his class and got scolded by his professor. Doha groaned when he remembered the incident this morning.

Earlier in the morning

Doha was a bit late than usual but he knew he would get into the class just before his professor came in. He sprinted into the building after parked his bike. Glancing at his watch, Doha took a breath. ‘I will get in time with no worries.’ Doha smiled and still moved in fast pace towards the lecture room. A bit unlucky for him, Doha bumped hard to someone who was running that suddenly came out from the corner. He landed hard on the ground. “Ugh.”

“Look where are you going, ugh.” Doha startled when he was shouted at. He groaned and looked up to the person he bumped. A guy. Doha was about to say something when the other male cursed and quickly got up. Doha turned when he heard noises. A group of girls were running. Doha tilted his head.

“What the hell?”

Doha turned to look at the guy again but he already ran away. Doha blinked and saw something that didn’t belong to him on the ground. He quickly took it and moved away when the group of girls ran passed him and chased after the guy he bumped. Doha looked at the item and saw the college ID card. “That guy just didn’t notice his wallet fell.” Doha commented as he read the name. “Yoo Youngdoo? Why this name is so familiar?”

Doha then blinked. “Shoot, he won’t survive if he didn’t have his ID card with him.” Doha groaned. He had the urge to return the wallet and completely forgot that he was very late to his class. Doha ran to the same way as the guy had gone. Doha walked fast and saw the group of girls stopped around the foyer looking around. He walked closer to them and tapped one of the girls’ shoulders.

“Hey, did you see the guy you’re chasing just now?” The girl scanned Doha up and down. Doha was a bit nervous being stared like that.

“Why you’re asking about oppa?” Doha blinked.

“Ugh, just want to-”

“We’re searching for him too, we missed him here.” Another girl answered. Doha nodded and thanked her. He excused himself and walked a bit away from them. He turned to a corner when he noticed a shadow. Doha blinked.

“Oh.” Doha didn’t mean to get loud but he was loud anyway when the girls turned to him. He didn’t notice that the girls came to him. Noticing the current situation, the guy in the shadow pulled Doha with him and ran away. The girls noticed and chased after them.

The guy literally dragged Doha until he found a place to hide again. Doha panted heavily when they stopped running. “Why they’re chasing you?”

“Why you’re blowing up my hide place?” The guy said in a bit rude tone. Doha frowned.

“I didn’t mean to do so.” The guy scoffed.

“Why you’re following me?” Doha pulled out the wallet.

“Your wallet.” The guy stared and took it after a while. “I came to give it. You should know in this college, you can’t go around without your ID card. There’s some lecturer would love to deduct your merit score. And you won’t like that because if you lose 5 score due to the ID, you will be fined with some money.” The guy scoffed.

“What a rule. Are this college short of money or what? As far as I know, this college is a prestige college.” The guy said.

“You talked like this… I guess you’re new here.” Doha said with annoyed tone. The guy was still using the rude tone with him and Doha began to feel annoyed. “Anyway, I’m going-” Doha glanced at his watch. “, I’m late.” The guy snickered.

“You’re probably the oh-so-good student that never misses a class. Nerd.” Doha glared at the guy.

“Aren’t you too rude to say that to a stranger? Moreover I had help you?” Doha said with gritted teeth. “Damn you, if I know I wouldn’t help you.” Doha said and left. The guy looked at the leaving steps.

“I didn’t tell you to help me.” The guy said with a smirk. Doha didn’t hear that but he was stomping away in anger. He quickly walked to his class and cursed that guy with his misfortune that day.

Doha startled from his memory when he heard the door opened. He turned to the door and saw the annoying guy was walking inside. “What the hell? How do you get in?” The guy smiled and opened his palm. A set of key with dolphin keychain hung on his forefinger. Doha frowned.

“I believe your mother gives me this?” Doha widened his eyes.

“What?! Wait, then-”

“Nice to meet you, brother.” Doha groaned in frustration.

“I can’t believe this.” The guy snickered as he pulled his luggage inside and placed it carelessly at the entrance. He placed his backpack on the small couch and sat down. Doha was standing as he watched the guy casually made himself home. “I don’t agree living with you, my mom forced it and I don’t want to follow this. Not when you’re my brother.” Doha emphasized the word you. The guy turned.

“Aww, bro. You know it’s rude to interrupt people on honeymoon.” The guy said casually as he pulled out his phone that was ringing. He picked up. “Hello.” Doha crossed his arms as he waited for the call to end to continue their talks. “I just arrive. Can’t I stay a little while more?” The guy sighed as he listened to the caller. “Fine, just come and get me. I will be waiting.”

“Where are you going?” Doha asked after the guy ended the call. The guy looked up.

“Why do you care?” Doha rolled his eyes.

“Mom told me to look out on you. Just in case.” The guy scoffed.

“Did she tell you what I’m doing for living?” The guy paused and looked up. “As I figure you didn’t know me.” Doha frowned.

“Do I should know you?” The guy hummed.

“You just proved you’re such a nerd.”

“What?!” The guy got up and took his backpack. He walked passing Doha, patting the shoulder.

“I’m out for work, I think when I’m back the luggage had been finished unpacked.” Doha frowned.

“What?”

“I want you to unpack my things.” Doha glared at him.

“Why should I? If you want help, you can ask properly-” Doha startled when the other male was stepping too close to him. “What are you doing?”

“I don’t ask for help, I order you to do it.” Doha stared at the other male.

“What? Who are you to order me-?”

“Do it okay. Be a good brother.” The guy smiled and patted Doha’s shoulder. Doha startled and turned when the guy was at the door.

“Wait, Youngdoo. Where are you going?” The guy raised his brow and turned as he twisted the knob.

“Hum. You know my name, I guess you could go on internet and search for my name.” Youngdoo smirked and left. Doha frowned.

“Where this arrogant boy came from? Very different from his father.” Doha scoffed and fished out his phone. He was curious why Youngdoo said about searching his name. Doha blinked. “. How did I forget about what Jinseok told me two days ago?” Doha cursed under his breath when he remembered the talks with his best friend.

Two days ago

“This supposed to be a secret of student council but I’m telling you.” Doha looked at his best friend, Jinseok who was the secretary of their college student council. Jinseok beamed. “We’re going to have a new student and he’s not ordinary one. Guess who?”

“Who would I know?”

“We will get an idol attend our college! I think after this we will see many girls screaming everywhere.” Doha frowned.

“Why you’re so happy?” Jinseok grinned.

“Because he’s my favourite member from my favourite group. But sadly now he turned solo.” Jinseok said with full of emotion. Doha snickered.

“The one that you always write dirty things on AO3?” Jinseok slapped Doha’s mouth shut.

“Don’t need for you to disclose my identity and that thing, Park Doha.” Doha laughed.

“Oh Jinseok, we’re in my house.” Jinseok blinked and grinned.

“Oh, right.” Jinseok hummed. “So, I’m so excited to see him soon. I’m going to take pictures with him and get his signature.” Jinseok smiled with a meaning. “I’m gonna see his real self so I can make my story even real.” Doha shook his head.

“Such a fudanshi.”Jinseok shrugged, no longer feel hurt on that label. Because only Doha knew this side of Jinseok. “What is his name again? Your so-called idol.”Jinseok beamed.

“His former stage name is Mark before changing it to use his real name now when he became soloist, Youngdoo. Full name, Yoo Youngdoo.”

Doha got up when his alarm clock rang loudly. He groaned and rubbed his eyes before turning off the alarm. He sat up on his bed, registering the bright light that peeking through the white curtain. He yawned and folded his blanket properly before getting up from the bed. Doha stretched his back and sighed in delight as he was ready to start his day. He turned to push the white curtain open. Doha jumped when he heard a groan. He turned and spotted a figure lying on his couch. “What-” Later it registered to him about his stepbrother.

Doha walked closer to the couch and looked at the sleeping male. “When did you come home yesterday?” Doha said to himself. He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall and hummed. “I should go and take my bath first.”

Doha went ahead to get ready, feeling like he could wake up the other male a bit later as the younger got a bit later class than him (if you ask how did he knew, he found Youngdoo’s class schedule in his luggage yesterday. Ah, yeah, Doha did unpacking for his so-called stepbrother). He walked to the kitchen to make breakfast after wearing short pants and shirtless, towel hanging on his neck. Doha almost prepared for one-people portion of breakfast before his eyes caught the sleeping male on the couch. He sighed. “Now I even need to make double.” He grumbled and continued his task. In the meanwhile, Youngdoo’s alarm blared in the room. Doha glanced over as he finished preparing breakfast for them; his breakfast was packed in the lunchbox. Bringing it to the dining table, he walked to the couch. Doha crossed his arms, staring at the sleepy head that didn’t even hear the loud alarm.

“Wake up. Your alarm is ringing.” Doha lazily used his leg to kick the calf of the younger. The other male moved in his sleep turning around to face Doha. Doha raised his brow at the tightly closed eyes of the male. “Hey, wake up. You set your alarm at this time, you should wake up.” The other male groaned.

“Why so naggy in the morning?” Youngdoo mumbled in his sleep as he pulled the cushion he was sleeping on to cover his ears.

“I’m just waking you up because your alarm is ringing.” Doha said nonchalantly, a bit loud for the purpose to wake up the other male. “You can’t miss your class. Wake up.” Doha kicked the leg again and walked away to get ready. Youngdoo didn’t care about the earlier interruption and back to sleep.

Doha finished getting ready and went to get his lunchbox after reaching for his bag. He noticed Youngdoo fallen sleep again. He sighed and went to wake up the other male again. “Yoo Youngdoo, wake up. You need to attend class, no more skipping or I will tell our parents.” Youngdoo groaned to the threat and sat up.

“Damn it, I’m up. Go away.” Youngdoo grumpily yawned and glared at the other male. Doha blinked, biting his inner cheeks as his smile was threatening to appear. Apparently, Youngdoo who looked angry didn’t look scary at all, but rather cute in Doha’s view. Messy bed hair, tiny eyes and puffy cheeks. Cute. Doha cleared his throat when he realized he was being weird. Must catch a cold from Jinseok.

“I’m going to check up on you later. If I know you didn’t turn up, I will tell our parents.” Doha warned for the last time as he walked to the door. “Please don’t forget to turn off all switches before you go out.” Youngdoo scoffed.

“Just go already, annoying nerdy brother. I’m not a kid.” Doha rolled his eyes to Youngdoo’s words. He managed to see Youngdoo was getting up to the bathroom as he left. Doha shrugged as he left.

“You’re even more annoying.”

Doha startled when Jinseok pulled him to stop. “What the heck, Seok? I almost fall.”

“Sorry, sorry. But this is an emergency.” Doha raised his brow. Jinseok grinned and pointed to a direction. Doha looked over and saw a crowd of girls and a guy. He almost rolled his eyes when he noticed who it was. Jinseok tugged Doha’s arm. “Finally I saw him around, I tried to search him yesterday but he was chased everywhere so every time I went to find him, he’s already missing. I need to get him now.” Doha looked at Jinseok.

“You’re seriously behaving like one of those girls.” Doha said. Jinseok pouted.

“Come on, he’s idol, Doha. Idol!” Doha shrugged.

“Not that I mind much, he’s such a faker.” Doha said as he watched the guy gave sweet smiles that he knew well that was just an act. The mask that the guy was wearing, those smiles weren’t real. The real one was the snappy, annoying guy he saw back in his house.

“How dare you say him like that?” Jinseok nudged Doha in annoyance. Doha was about to open his mouth when Jinseok already walked away, seizing his chance to get the signature. Doha just watched and shook his head.

“How did my best friend become a fanboy plus fudanshi like this?” Doha muttered and just watched Jinseok asking a signature from Youngdoo. Doha still didn’t disclose to Jinseok about his stepbrother’s identity as they didn’t open that topic yet but Jinseok knew about his stepbrother moved in with him.

Youngdoo spotted Doha when he looked up. He gave a smirk in which Doha caught it. Doha looked away in annoyance. As Youngdoo managed to get away from his fans, he walked to Doha’s direction. Doha blinked when he saw Youngdoo came closer. “So you see I’m coming to the class.” Youngdoo said as he passed Doha.

“Yeah, for now you’re safe. Don’t think that I won’t check with your professor. You need to know that I’m friendly with almost all the professors here and very fortunately I’m so closed with all your professors.” Doha said. Youngdoo hummed and gave a smirk as he walked away. Doha huffed and then Jinseok stood beside him.

“You know him?” Jinseok asked as he noticed Doha was talking to Youngdoo. Luckily, the fan girls already dismissed. Doha looked at Jinseok.

“I will tell you a story, now we need to catch the next class.” Jinseok nodded.

“I’m thinking to stay at your house after class. Today, my sister is coming home and I don’t feel like seeing her.” Doha just nodded lightly, knowing Jinseok had a slight fight with his elder sister in which Doha didn’t know what the issues are. The two males walked to their class.

“What? You’re saying that Mark- wait, I mean Youngdoo is your stepbrother?! And he stays here, with you?” Doha just nodded lightly. Jinseok stared at Doha. “Oh my god! What a lucky guy!”

Doha frowned. “Lucky? Not even close. Who wants to stay with such annoying, arrogant bastard like him?” Jinseok looked at Doha.

“Oh? He was like that? So the one you told me last night that order you to unpack the luggage… was Youngdoo?” Doha huffed.

“Do I have another stepbrother?” Doha said in sarcasm. Jinseok grinned sheepishly before twiddling with his fingers. Doha looked at him. “What’s wrong with you?” Jinseok looked up to Doha.

“You know… can I come here often?” Doha frowned. “I told you about my plan and my new fics.”

“Oh my god, don’t you dare.” Jinseok made a cute face and held Doha’s hands.

“Come on. My head was swimming with a great idea now. I really tempted to open my laptop and start-” Jinseok’s words were cut off when the door was opened. Doha startled and got up.

“I’m home.” Youngdoo was coming in with sour face before noticing there’s someone else. He quickly put on his masked smile as he turned to Doha. “You didn’t tell me you bring friend.”

“He just comes for a while, he’s going now.” Doha said, pulling Jinseok to stand. Jinseok startled and almost stumbled forward. Youngdoo just watched them with an amused smile.

“Eh, I want to sta-”

“Your mom called just now right? Come on, it’s getting late.” Doha said as he gave a threatening look at Jinseok. Jinseok managed to stop Doha from dragging him as he turned to Youngdoo.

“Hi, I’m your brother’s best friend, Oh Jinseok. Nice to meet you, I’m your fans. We met earlier.” Jinseok said enthusiastically. Youngdoo just gave a mild smile as he thanked Jinseok. Doha quickly pulled Jinseok to leave. Youngdoo sighed when Doha sent his best friend at the door. He sat down on the couch after lazily tossing his backpack on the floor. Doha frowned as he looked at the mess.

“Hey, can you at least put your stuff properly? Earlier, you just left your towel on the couch and your dirty cloth on the floor. There’s a laundry basket near the sliding door, you can put it there. The towel you can hang it in the bathroom.” Doha said as he stepped inside. Youngdoo glanced at the other male.

“I know but I’m lazy.” Doha gritted his teeth.

“You know, we’re living together. At least, you should follow the rule- ah!” Doha shrieked as he was pulled down to the couch. He hissed when his back was knocked hard to the arm rest. “What the heck? That hurts!”

Youngdoo ignored it and stared at the other male. Doha blinked, slightly intimidated by the look. “Well, I’m a person that not really following the rules, moreover the unnecessary one that are not beneficial to me. I’m a working guy, I guess you can do a little help to do such trivial stuff for me.” Youngdoo gave a smirk as he leaned closer to Doha. Doha startled when their nose almost touched. He took few moments of silence before pushed Youngdoo away.

“Typical rich son.”Youngdoo heard the muttered word as Doha got up to pick the backpack and set it properly on the drawer beside the bookshelf where the dining table was attached to it. Youngdoo watched as Doha walked around the house to tidy the mess he done. He just smirked. Doha puffed his cheeks as he noticed the dishes in the sink. He took a breath. “Calm down, Park Doha. He’s your brother.”

“Is there any dinner? I didn’t get to eat after practice just now.” Youngdoo said as he lay on the couch, playing with his phone. Doha glanced at the other male.

“No dinner.” Doha said nonchalantly. Youngdoo raised his brow as he glanced over the other male.

“Make some.” Doha scoffed.

“Could you once ask it properly?” Doha said, stopping his washing dish task and cleaned his hands. He walked to the fridge, looking on the existing ingredient and decided to settle with bibimbap. Youngdoo didn’t say a thing as he noticed the male started to prepare food. He smiled to himself.

“Hey, do you know we’re the same age?” Doha didn’t answer. “In fact, we’re only few days apart.”

“I know already.” Doha said in monotone as he settled with the rice. Youngdoo hummed.

“But I kinda want to call you hyung. You’re after all.” Doha frowned.

“On what basis? You’re just the same age as me.”

“You’re senior. We’re a year apart at college.” Youngdoo said giving a light smile and happily shifted his attention back to his phone. “So, hyung. Hyung is supposed to do what dongseng want right?” Doha clenched his fist.

“That’s what you want after all.” Youngdoo guffawed. Doha ignored the other male for the rest of the night.

A/N: Hi Dolls! Nice to meet you, this is the first part huuuu. I released this today just to greet you ^^ Anyway, as you see the title, yeap this story have four parts hehe. I hope you enjoy this story. Here now, I shall tell you what changes I make from the original story -if you didn't watch the original story- (I intend to talk about this every chapter, I just want to let you know ^^). So to make things easier, the original character is Feng He (the elder brother, acted by Edison) and Cheng Qing (the younger brother, acted by Wu Duke -additional info I'm so in love with him lol-). Cheng Qing is a new actor in the story, contrary to Youngdoo who is singer here. Feng He is very kind and timid in the story, and I twist the elder brother character indeed to fit Doha also the way story flows like I wanted. Their first meeting also different, in the original story, Cheng Qing is chased by fangirls and Feng He happened to be there which in the end he ran together with Cheng Qing. Cheng Qing put his cloth on Feng He to make time to run. That's their first meeting in which later Cheng Qing moved into Feng He's house (about the same reason like how Youngdoo ended up in Doha's house). I added few scenes here (like Jinseok-Doha's flashback also Jinseok ask for Youngdoo sign part) that didn't exist in the original to make this story has a nice delivery. But Jinseok's character actually adapted from the original (minus the position as student's council), Meng Meng as Feng He's best friend who is a fujoshi that loves writing. She's more extrovert that Feng He and knows Cheng Qing popularity, which when she knows Cheng Qing stayed with Feng He, she shipped them and started to imagine things. So I think for now the things I want to tell you is only this. We will talk more in the next chapter corresponding to what the chapter have. Yeah. See you soon, Dolls, annyeong! COMMENTS ARE LOVED.
