Sitting across from him, in the apartment they shared before the accident with so many familiar things... Hearing the voice that has starred in his daydreams and nighttime hours... In this place, Jonghyun is so much more real. So much easier to picture as the man Key had been so in love with. But to look away, for even a second, would make Jonghyun a stranger all over again. A nameless face who brought him flowers every day in contrast to the sterile white nothing that was his hospital stay. A man more broken than he looked, no matter how impossible that seemed. Each time it happens, there's a moment of panic as Kibum frantically grasps at half-formed memories, trying to recall who the man across from him is. Key's willing to bet that his forced amnesia caused more damage to his mind than the accident ever did. To be forced to forget, over and over... It had to have left behind a scar.

And yet... And yet there was an undeniable force that continuously drew Key toward Jonghyun. He seemed to crave the older male's touch. As much as Jonghyun tried to respect any boundaries Key might have, the younger's hand kept entwining itself in Jonghyun's own or in his hair... A few times, the two had suddenly realized that one was in the other's lap, foreheads touching, and had disentangled themselves only to discover a few minutes later that it had happened again without either of them noticing.

They spent three days - three glorious, wonderful days - learning each other. Three days of hours-long conversations, soft touches and hesitant kisses. Three days of movies and cooking and laughter. Thee days of being head-over-heels, over-the-moon, innocently, sweetly, completely in love with each other. The first night, Jonghyun slept on the couch and woke up in the middle of the night to see Kibum on the floor of the living room, one hand gripping Jonghyun's and a peaceful smile dancing on his lips. The second night, Jonghyun shared the bed and Key woke to find himself wrapped in the other's arms. It was the best sleep Jonghyun had had in years.

The third night, Jonghyun was called back to work in an emergency, and Kibum helped him pack and made him some food for the road.

This is a really, really short chapter for this series, I know. But it's still hard for me to get myself back into the story right now. But for the first time since the news, I felt like writing again, and I just had to get it out. So... You guys get an update.
