After Jonghyun finishes, everyone is silent.

"Da-in, what are you doing here?" Jihoon whispers, slowly increasing in volume.

"Umm-"

"And where is Woojin?" Daniel interrupts.

"You see-"

"Wait a minute," Jihoon realizes. He looks at me, squinting his eyes. "What did exactly do, Da-in?"

"Oh uh, well-"

"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR HAIR-"

"Okay, please shut up for a second and let me explain," I huff, crossing my arms.

Like two obedient dogs, Jihoon and Daniel listen and fall silent.

"Woojin isn't coming. He isn't coming because I replaced him."

Jihoon asks, "Did you even tell him beforehand?"

"... Yes?" 

Hearing my response, Jihoon gave me an are-you-sure-about-that look.

"...No."

"Damn it, Da-in," Jihoon spits out, turning away as he runs his hands through his hair in frustration.

"Why?"

I turn my head towards the voice. Euigeon.

"It was the only way I can see Woojin safe and sound."

"But by doing this, you've put your own life at risk. It doesn't make sense, Da-in. How can you be so STUPID?"

"If he dies, my will to live dies with him. Woojin is my whole world. I rather die than have him not alive," I respond harshly, looking at the floor.

I look directly at Daniel and squint my eyes. "Stupid? Daniel, that's the last thing I would expect to hear from you. We both know that I would do something like this. You're stupid if you didn't see this coming."

The tension is high when I finish my sentence. I blow out a puff of air and comb back my hair. Right now, I can't stand looking at Daniel and Jihoon. Out of all people, they should be the ones who would understand my actions the most.

Jonghyun realized how uncomfortable I was and said, "Hey guys, why don't I register our team in because we're all here? Da-in, want to come with?"

I smile at his subtle action and take his extended hand. "Sure."

"Okay, what just happened?"

Jonghyun speaks up after we've gotten far enough from the group.

I hesitate before talking. I didn't want to talk about the topic. But I'd be rude if I don't respond.

"Are you sure?"

Jonghyun gives me a determined look in his eyes and nods.

I sigh giving into his persuasion. I sit on a nearby bench and pat the spot next to me.

"Ok, so..."

"... And that's pretty much what happened."

"Wow. What I can't believe was how Jihoon and Daniel exploded like that. 'Stupid'?"

I shrug, just as clueless. "Honestly, I somewhat overreacted. But friends don't call each other stupid like that, not in that situation."

Jonghyun thinks to himself for a bit. Suddenly, he puts his hands on his knees and stands up.

"You want me to kick them out of the team?"

Hearing this, I widen my eyes.

"Yes? Wait... N-no." I stand up and put a hand on his shoulder. "Look. I don't want to ruin your team just because of me. Besides, it was just one little argument. It was a one-time thing."

Jonghyun sighs in defeat. "Fine. I hope you're right. Oh, we're here."

He points to a booth with a sign. Team Register.

"Wow, I thought you were kidding. I thought you were just finding a way to get me out of there to talk."

"Mm, that's true. But, I remembered that I had to do this and so let's say it's like... killing two birds with one stone," Jonghyun walks ahead.

Dumbfounded, I chase after him.

"Name?" The old guy at the front desk of the booth says as he blows a puff of smoke from his cigar in our faces. His tired face and monotonous tone show that he loves his job.

"Kim. Kim Jonghyun."

The old guy smashes his cigar stub into his ashtray and types away on his computer. And at one point, I felt like he forgot about us because he ignores our presence for a while.

I clear my throat and say, "Any time now."

With that, he glares at me for a millisecond and asks Jonghyun another question.

"Anyone else in the team?"

Jonghyun names everyone in the team as the old man slowly types each of their names. I groan and lace my fingers together upon my head. I don't know about Jonghyun, but it was painful for me to watch, given that I'm not a very patient person.

What seemed like forever, the man opens a drawer and fishes out six pins. I take one and run my thumb over it. It's a pair of guns in an "X" formation with the words, "May God Have Mercy."

The old man scoffs."Good luck, Squad #007. You're gonna need it."

We walk back to the team where I see Daniel sitting on the bench with his hands covering his face. As we get closer, Jihoon nudges Daniel who stands up when he sees me inching closer.

"Look, Dain, we're sorry-" Daniel starts.

But I'm not really in the mood for hearing half-assed apologies at the moment, so I cut him off.
