Prologue



“Hyung! Jaejoongie hyung! Yoochunnie! Wait for me,” a six years old boy pleaded as he rushed out of an orphan house.

“Junsu ah, what takes you so long?” an eight years old boy named Yoochun asked as he caressed Junsu’s hair.

“You don’t need to run you know, we’ll wait for you,” Jaejoong, who’s the nine years old, smiled as he pitched Junsu’s cheek.

“Heehee…Hyungie ah, Chunnie ah,” Junsu smiled as he liked being teased,” Let’s go! I can’t wait to see the firework party!”

“Come on, let’s have a race then!” Jaejoong declared as they ran through the meadow.

“Eh, but I just ran and I’m still tired,” Junsu spoke.

“Chunnie! You walk with Junsu!” Jaejoong commanded as he grinned, “I’ll run to the venue and get the best seats for us!”

“Ehh? Jaejoong hyung!” Yoochun blushed at the thought he was going to be with Junsu alone.

“See yaaa~” Jaejoong winked.

“Um, hyung is kind of over-excited, isn’t he?” Junsu stated the truth,” Even though he’s the oldest one.”

“Um, yeah…” Yoochun was nervous. He liked Junsu a lot and he knew Junsu’s hyung, that Jaejoong knew about it. He’s thankful that Jaejoong approved his feeling for Junsu and created this opportunity but…Why in the world his heart beat so fast?!

“Um, Chunnie, you can follow Jae hyung if you want to…I can walk alone,” Junsu said in a sad tone, he thought Yoochun didn’t want to be there with him.

“No! I’m fine, I want to walk with you, Junsu ah,” Yoochun spoke out clearly, causing Junsu to smile. Slowly but sure, Yoochun’s hand moved closer to Junsu’s palm. It was well-welcomed by Junsu. Both of them walked hand by hand till they reached the festival venue. 

The firework party was splendid; Junsu never saw something as beautiful as this. He smiled as he held his hyung and Yoochun’s palm. Secretly, Jaejoong gave a hint to Yoochun and told Yoochun to do his best to win Junsu’s heart. Yoochun could only blush again.

“Yoochun ah, why your face is so red? Do you feel sick?” Junsu was concerned.

“Nothing, I’m fine…” Yoochun managed to say as he tried to change the topic,” Look at there, Junsu ah! The firework makes a dolphin picture! It’s amazing right?”

“Yeah!”

Suddenly a huge sound heard as huge light rushed toward the three boys’ direction.

“Look out!” Jaejoong was the one who realized it first and he managed to protect the others from it. 

“Hyung!” Junsu was so scared,” You’re bleeding!!!”

“Jae!” Yoochun was also shocked.

“I’m…fine, just a scratch…” Jaejoong smiled. Some adults saw Jae’s wound and they took the boy to have some treatment. Luckily, the wound on his arm wasn’t infected but it would leave scar. That night the three boys decided to spend the night in the clinic.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked hyung to go to this festival,” Junsu cried as he kept hugging Jaejoong.

“It’s not your fault Junsu ah,” Jaejoong smiled as he caressed Junsu’s hair. Time passed, the crying Junsu had falled asleep.

“Hyung!” Yoochun, who just told the orphan house about the accident, appeared,” Are you OK?”

“Shhh…” Jaejoong warned,” Junsu is sleeping…I’m fine…”

“Ahh…thank God!” Yoochun whispered as he helped Jaejoong to put Junsu beside Jaejoong. The little boy was fast asleep.

“Let’s have some sleep, Yoochun ah,” Jaejoong offered. Yoochun nodded. The bed was big enough for the three of them.

“Hyungie…Chunnie…” suddenly Junsu’s voice startled both of the awake boys,” We…always will be…together right?”

Actually, Junsu was half asleep. The boy ended up talking in his sleep because he was dead worried about Jaejoong.

“Yeah, of course, Junsu ah…” Yoochun reassured with a smile.

It was a promise for the three of them. Things went quite smooth for another year, but when the next year came, everything changed. Jaejoong was adopted by a mysterious family. Both Yoochun and Junsu never saw Jaejoong ever since.
