Telecom Juniors

Description

Inspired by SNL 9 Ep. 3, especially the skit '3 minute junior', this story revolves on a lonesome student having a set of juniors due to a telecom promo set by the school.

A.N. > The events here are not EXACTLY depicted the same as the SNL short. Some of the events are inspired with the short while the rest are written by the author.

Foreword

"Ma, I'll be okay." A woman said, hugging her mother.

"But what if you might encounter imbeciles to stop your aspirations? College can sometimes be cruel." Her mother her worried.

"Ma, I've been handling it." The woman grinned. "You, Imo Min Yeon and Imo Min Hyeong taught me to be feisty with imbeciles in college. I'm already in my third year. I'm going to be fine."

"Okay, Han Seo-ya." A 56 year old Min Seo nodded.

"Thanks, Ma." Han Seo said, hugging her mother tight.

"I love you." Min Seo said.

"I love you too." Han Seo replied.

"Say goodbye to your aunts." She said.

Han Seo nodded and went down to see her eleven aunts lining up. Han Seo grinned as they went to kiss their niece's forehead.

"Take care, Han Seo." Na Young said.

"Here." Chung Ha gave her a pack of sweet potatoes. "You might get hungry on the way."

"Han Seo, don't forget to exercise." Se Jeong said.

"And don't forget to take care of that precious face." Chae Yeon said.

"Awwww~ my baby's going places." Kyul Kyung pinched Han Seo's cheeks. "Tell my daughter to come back home."

"We will miss you, Han Seo baby." So Hye pecked her cheek.

"The last time, Min Seo-unnie found her on the streets as a baby and now, she's all grown up." Yeon Jung cries lightly. "Same with Kyul Kyung's daughter."

"And she's taller than Min Seo-unnie." Yoo Jung commented.

"She's pretty too." Mi Na pinches her cheek and kisses it. "Just like my Min Seo-unnie."

"OUR Min Seo-unnie." Do Yeon corrected.

"Okay. Show's over. Han Seo might be late." So Mi said.

Han Seo couldn't help but smile at her eleven aunts. She thought her mother took care of them so well, just as she did with her.

Han Seo knew the truth of her found in the streets. Min Seo told her that she was still an infant and she, herself, was 35 years old. Min Seo took her in and raised her as her own. Not only that, she had eleven aunties who love her so much plus two biological aunts overseas.

Han Seo saw her mother walking towards the eleven women as they hug her mother tight. Hana Seo thought that the sight was too cute. She went to hug all of them before she could go.

"Imonies...." Han Seo began. "Take care of Mama for me."

They nodded. Han Seo heard that honk and bidded goodbye to her family.

---

Han Seo got to see her cousin, Joo Han Kyul. Also, there were her friends: Ha Jeong Mi, Chun Mi Rae, and Kim Ki Reum.

"How's Imonie?" Han Kyul asked.

"Mama's fine and active." Han Seo asked. "Why didn't you come home? Why didn't you come with Imonie Kyul Kyung?"

"I loved spending time with Imonie Yeon Jung's Chinese friends, also with their children. Mama doesn't mind. I'm coming home with you after our third year." Han Kyul said.

"What about the rest of you?" Han Seo asked.

"Jeong Mi and I have been busy with our partnership in web development." Mi Rae said.

"Eomma and I have been whopping the dance school. Join me someday, Han Seo," said Ki Reum.

Han Seo could only nod as the trip continued.

---

Their first phases in their third year in the university had been bearable. For the Han cousins, they were able to make it easily since they were committed to studying. But recently, they were outdated with the trend in their school: Her blockmates were having junior friends.

Han Seo was welcomed by her classmates. Jeong Mi and Mi Rae were always supportive and the rest of the class paid respect to her. However, there were some juniors inside in which they can get their heads hard sometimes, provoking her in some ways.

Classes went on like the usual until it ended. Han Seo was exitting the building and students made way. Han Seo wondered of the sight. She saw her fellow seniors befriending a junior each.

"Is that the Choi Han Seo? I want to meet her." A junior spoke.

"You can't just befriend the Choi Han Seo. She's at the top of her league. She prefers being alone." A fellow senior said to her junior.

"Ne. Choi Han Seo doesn't interact much," said a graduating student.

Han Seo shrugged off the mutters and went towards her friends. She gasped as she them with their own juniors.

She could only sigh, wondering if resuming school wasn't a good idea at all. She was slightly lonely, not having any junior friends because no junior dared to make friends with her.

As Han Seo walked off, she watched the green leaves of the trees by a window. She chuckled. Who knew she started spring by being lonely? Who knew she cannot look forward to school due to a petty desire of having a junior for a friend which is almost impossible to happen?

As Han Seo passed by more students with their juniors, it made her insides cringe. She scratched her head and continued walking, knowing that a junior talking to her and heeding her words was impossible.

Han Seo thought of one thing.

She was going to be quite lonesome.

---

Han Seo was waiting for a bus to take her to the other side of town to grab a sandwich when she saw Do Yeon, a tall junior.

"Oh! Do Yeon." Han Seo noticed.

"Oh, hello sunbaenim. I thought you'd be in Harvard. You're so smart you could study there. You're still studying here?" Do Yeon spoke.

"Yes. I have a legacy to keep." Han Seo said then asked. "Do you want to grab something to eat?"

Do Yeon was honored and agreed. "Yes, let's go."

"Sunbae~" A short girl came and held Do Yeon's arm. "We're going out to eat today. You remember your promise, right?"

"Of course." Do Yeon nodded. "Han Seo-sunbaenim, you should come with us."

"I don't want her to." Do Yeon's junior whispered but Han Seo heard it clearly, making her sad. "Han Seo-sunbaenim is too sophisticated. I'll be uncomfortable."

Alas. That sentence made Han Seo weak. Han Seo declined the offer and decided to eat alone.

If only she had female juniors for friends too. Oh, how she wished to be like anybody else that have female juniors for friends...
