Foreword

-Two years ago, 2015-

it was just another normal day at school, the sun shone brightly over Seoul Senior High School as the students walked leisurely onto campus to get the day started.

"Morning, Mily," her best friend greeted rather blandly as he took a sip of his Latte, his blue eyes trying their best to stay open. He- like her- was a foreigner who by some kind act of fate, was brought to Seoul a few years before she moved into town; since they discovered one another, they bonded as two foreigners reining from the United States that needed to stick together to survive. They have been best friends for the better part of five years and everyone at school automatically labeled them as a couple, ignoring the two's constant corrections when the topic came up.

"Good morning, Scott," she greeted back playfully as the two made their way through the main entrace of the school while chatting each other up.

Scott scoffed, "how could you be in such a good mood in the morning?"

Mily shrugged her shoulders, "How could I not be in a good mood when my best friend acts like a zombie on the way to school?"

"Jackass," Scott mumbles as takes a longer sip from his drink.

"Jerk," she retorted while sticking her tongue out at the tall lad as they walked through the halls that were jam packed with students who seemed to have reflected Scott's current mood.

"Excuse us, coming through!" Mily stated as she led her best friend to their classroom bumping into classmates occasionally to give a quick hello along the way. Once they reached their classroom they went their seperate ways to their seats, as the tardy bell rang, Mr. Yang began his introduction to the new section in history. However, before he could delve too deeply into the Korean War, Mr. Yang was interrupted by the door to his classroom opening widely as one of the school's notorious bad boys sauntered into the room as if he owned it.

Mr. Kang sighed as he brought a hand up to massage his temples, "Mr. Jeon, what have I told you about being late to my class?" He asked as his eyes landed on the dark haired boy who had not been affected by all of the attention and shrugged, "Sorry, Mr. Yang, it won't happen again." the boy walked off to his seat towards the back of the classroom, while he passed by, he gave Mily the smallest of acknowledgements with the nod of his head which she returned. The two have been familiar since she moved to Seoul, they met at her mom's Western Restaurant all those years ago when she started helping out there. The boy was a regular customer at Telly's, though the pair never really have had a formal conversation aside from the usual 'may I take your order' and 'have a nice evening,' so she wouldn't say that they were friends; nor would they even be considered acquaintences, just classmates.Which was something Mily was more than fine with, given his bad boy reputation. Although he had always treated her somewhat kindly at the restaurant, offering her smiles and thanking her for the meal, and always leaving her a rather nice tip when he paid the bill. In all honesty, she didnt think he was half bad, it was just that he was under the influence of his senseless friends; the rowdy and obnoxious trio that he has for friends are Jackson Wang, Kim Yugyeom, and Kim Mingyu who thought they were kings of the world.

Mily sighed as the class dragged on, she was already fully aware of the fact that the day was indeed going to be long and a small groan passed her lips as she realized she had to work a shift today at the restaurant. She glanced over at Scott to see if he would at least entertain her until the bell rang but the lad was unconcious; his face laying in a puddle of his own saliva as his light snores filled the room which in a way was indeed quite entertaining. Mily descreetly pulled out her phone and took a few photos her sleeping bestie until the bell finally rang, dismissing everyone from their current state of boredom.Mily walked up to Scott who was still off in a world of his own, probably dreaming about a certain boy in his theater class that he had a crush on; Mily giggled to herself as she violently shook her best friend, "Earth Quake!" she playfully shouted at him.

She did not realize however that a dark pair of eyes were watching her from a distance as she had successfully woken up her friend.
