Letter
Love and MonstersWhen I looked at you, I saw beautiful things and I just couldn’t help but wish that when you looked at me you saw the same.
Kim Hanbin was always that guy who have scary eyes, frightening aura (especially when he's with Bobby), and a reputation around their school. They said he's a perfectionist. He hates mistakes. He hates when things didn't go as he planned. Some say he's egoistic (well, they said it's Bobby but since they're best friends), he held so much pride in himself. He's one of the top students in their school so it kinda make sense. They also said he's unapproachable, that's why he only have a small circle of friends, mainly males like him. You know, the big, bad, alpha kinda thing.
But to Jennie Kim, Kim Hanbin is... Well, he's clumsy, often clueless and dumb. He would do anything to make her laugh even appearing dumb. That's why she calls him and Bobby the dumb and dumber. He's also afraid of girls contrary to the gossips around that he's unapproachable, he actually panics whenever someone (especially girls) approaches him. He just act nonchalant whenever someone gave gifts and letters to him but deep inside he's panicking so much.
"Yah, why are you laughing all alone here?" Hanbin asked, looking down at Jennie who was giggling, sitting under a tree in their schoolyard.
"You got another confession letter?" Jennie asked as Hanbin sit beside her, spotting a colorful envelope Hanbin was holding. He groaned as Jennie grabbed the letter away.
"Yah!"
"Let's read it, come on," Jennie said, tearing the letter open. "Wow, nice handwriting," she commented, looking at the scribbles on the stationary paper. It looked horrible, Jennie didn't even know how she could read it.
"Come on, don't read it," Hanbin protested but Jennie shook her head, standing up and quickly dodging Hanbin's hand who was trying grab the letter away. "Seriously, don't read it," he added, shaking his head.
"Why? Who is this from anyway?" she asked, hiding the letter and her hands behind her.
"Just... Please give it back."
"Huh. Okay," Jennie said, her curiosity peaking. Hanbin sighed and before he could understand why Jennie was smirking at him, she quickly run away with the letter, making Hanbin panic and run, following her through the school corridors.
Students stared as the ever pretty and scary Queen B of the the school, The Great Kim Jennie was laughing, running as The One and Only Kim Hanbin was running behind her, panting as he tried to catch her.
Jennie was almost out of breath as she hide in one of the empty rooms. She quickly closed the door and sat on the floor, feeling tired. She heard footsteps and Hanbin's voice fading, which means he was far from where she was.
She straightened the crumbled letter she was holding and frowned. Why was he hiding this anyway? Who is it from? She squinted, trying to read the not-so-good handwritten letter. She started reading it out loud to herself.
Hi! Uhh. I don't really know how to start this so I'll just share how I first met you. I saw you on our first day of the school, looking so scary and intimidating, sitting alone in the cafeteria. My best friend told me to stop staring and that it's rude but I couldn't help but steal glances at you. Maybe because you're scary but I thought you don't have any friends so I was surprised to see you by the lockers, talking and laughing with someone, your friend
