Jungkook was the first person to hear her scream.

It was like half of his soul was cut in half as he felt his heart accelerate, the adrenaline in his body sky rocketed and he dashed into the maze without a second thought. The other followed as they all went to the ground in the maze where Mijoo and Hoseok were, in which they didn’t see Yein’s body however they saw Mijoo and Hoseok talking to a couple who were significantly smaller than them and were dressed in an odd 1800s style. The man had platinum hair and wore laced black attire that was accompanied with a white choker around his neck, his eyes were a greyish blue that was unique for a god and his physique was one that was attractive to the human and many goddess eyes however all knew that the man was taken by a certain goddess. She was dressed in a simple white lace gown that outlined her figure with the help of a corset and the long sleeved petit coat that covered her thin arms. Her eyes were a warm brown and her hair was a dark chestnut colour as it was long and straight. Both stood next to the other married couple who turned around and witnessed the trio who have been with one another since birth.

“Taehyung, look who is here!” Hoseok gestured to the man who was smiling at him.

“Hello Jimin and Jiyeon.” He greeted the couple who gave him warm smiles. The man walked over and hugged Taehyung while the young goddess went and hugged Sujeong.

“We haven’t seen you guys in so long, and we heard that Mijoo and Hoseok were celebrating their anniversary, so we decided to stop by.” Jimin explained to everyone in which only one person stayed silent and stared at his wife.

“What brings you here Jiyeon.” Jungkook stated more than ask and the elder woman gave him a small smile, as if she was expecting him to ask her.

“I am here to greet your fated one.”

“Don’t be ridiculous… She isn’t here, she’s dea-“

“Are you sure about that?”

Everyone froze on their spot, it was like time had stopped and everyone’s guard was suddenly as they all slowly turned to the unexpected voice that appeared at the top of one of the hedges. There stood a man that wore dark pants that were rolled up around his calve and with a striped dress shirt that had the first three ed and revealed his chest where a fox with nine tails was engraved. His facial features were not revealed as the fox mask that Yein was wearing before the celebration was hiding his face from the world. However, his ruby red hair stood out more than anything. He was someone that was unfamiliar to all of them and especially Jungkook who frowned at his appearance.

“What brings a familiar such as you to this humble place?” Jungkook questioned and the grinning fox-like man jumped down from the without trouble and walked towards them.

It was uncommon to see guardians as they only appeared when they were summoned by their master. All the gods and goddess were aware that their familiars were uneasy, as if they wanted to come out of the prison they were sealed in. The man walked towards Jungkook however as he passed by Taehyung, the God of Death felt his heart stop for a moment as if this aura was all too familiar and he wanted to stop that person yet he couldn’t.

“Who are you and who is your master?” Jimin tilted his head towards the creature as he emitted a dark aura that Jiyeon only felt when he was in the mood to participate in their fore play. However this time his intent is to kill. She placed her small hand on his, trying to tame his temper and to physically tell him to stop.

“I am the one and only familiar of someone that you all know well.” The voice spoke with a hint of haughtiness which was not needed as the mood was heavy. “I am the nine-tailed fox, the one that wields light and the familiar of Jung Yein.” He took of the mask and looked directly at Jungkook with a smirk that spoke more than words.

The young man was static before he walked up and grabbed the fox’s shirt as he pushed him close enough that their face were only centimetres apart. The aura he emitted was darker and stronger than Jimin’s and everyone felt shivers go down their spine as no one wanted to suffer the wrath of the God of War. However the nine-tailed fox wasn’t startled by his power, instead he enjoyed the glare that Jungkook gave him, one that showed anger and his weakness.

“Where is she?!” He snapped and the man raised his hand up in defence.

“Try the room at the very top to your left, buttercup.” He cooed and Jungkook dropped him to the ground and ran back through the maze and the trees of blossoms. After he left the rest followed as they worried about the poor human soul, however two people remained still.

“I can’t believe you’re still alive, I thought you died after the battle in Sekigahara.” Taehyung walked along with the fox.

“I never died, after all I just found a new master.” He whimpered like a pup that was hit. Taehyung just chuckled and decided to no longer beat around the bush.

“Who is your real master?”

The man smirked and continue to walk on as he knew he couldn’t fool the god of Death because every god should know that a human could never be a master of a nine-tailed fox like him.

“Now now… that is for me to know and you all to find out.”

When Yein was younger she often wondered around the forests in the mountains where the villagers told their children that evil spirits would reside and take you away from this world if you dare step foot in their territory. However, Yein was not the type of child who was scared of ghosts, evil beings and the spiritual creatures, in fact she was fascinated by them and even played with them in the forest. She remembered there were ten creatures that always played with her and entertained her. All were different creatures such as foxes, deers, cats, wolves, birds and so on. However, there was one creature she always remembered and never forgot, he was a fox that was a bright ruby red with exactly nine tails and a grin painted on his face. He would always walk around with her and wait for her at the entrance of the forest and she distinctively remembered him because he always comforted her and made her smile.

“Where are you!?” She called out to the forest filled with mist

“Peek a boo” The nine-tailed fox that was about the size of her arm appeared on her shoulder and pecked her cheek.

“Where did you go??” the young six-year-old Yein asked the creature and it chuckled as it sat on her lap.

“I went to visit an old friend, sadly she went missing.” He spoke and Yein listened attentively, “It seems like I will have to leave the forest to find her.”

“Really??” She asked a bit sad by the news, after all he was her true best friend. “How long??”

“I’m not sure, but by the time we meet again you will probably have forgotten me, pretty one.” The fox looked down sadly and Yein picked up the creature before throwing it up in the air.

“I will never forget about you!” She smiled and the fox gave her an equally bright smile before it changed to human form and hugged her. She was surprised by his form and he chuckled before giving a kiss on her forehead.

“Now my beautiful master, forget everything you have seen. Until we meet again when the time is right and when she will appear.”
