“Yein?”

The human child opened her eyes and was greeted by Jungkook, she was currently in his arms with her back facing the other woman across the room. Jungkook had appeared as soon as he saw what had taken place between the two and didn’t hesitate to hide her in his arms, making sure that her small face was hidden in his shoulder. It took Yein some time to process what was going on before she realised she was in Jungkook’s embrace. She tried to push him away but instead he held onto her tightly, and kept his eyes trained on the Almighty one.

“Jungkook let me go-“ Yein asked politely but the god before her ignore her presence.

“Hello, Jungkook.” The Almighty one greeted him with a smile, which he didn’t return. “I see that you have taken in an offering which is very rare for you.”

“It’s none of your business.”

“Everything in this universe is my business, Jian fan.” She narrowed her eyes, and the smile that painted her lips turned into a frown.

“Don’t call me that.” Jungkook growled and Yein blinked in surprised. “No one can ever call me that, except-“

“Xiu ai, we have to go now.” A tall slender woman interrupted the argument that was about to take place. The woman was in a traditional kimino with a thin white sword sitting on her waist, her fox mask that was previously hiding her identity was now on the side of her face, revealing her grin like face.

“If you say so.”

Xiu ai and the tall slender warrior started to walk away from the couple. Jungkook who was holding tightly onto Yein had loosen his grip and the fox mask lady couldn’t help but turn to look at Yein. There was something in her eyes that made Yein questioned if she had met the woman in the Dark forest with Baekhyun and the others.

‘I’m sorry’

Yein eyes widen as she heard a soft whisper flow with the wind, causing her to flinch. When she looked back, the Almighty one and the fox lady had vanished. She pushed herself away from Jungkook and gave him a glare. The man however ignored her as his eyes were trained on the disappeared figure. Yein narrowed her eyes and kicked his shin, causing the man to crouch over in pain.

“Lord of War, I would appreciate it if you did not act so bashfully.” Yein said in a cold voice. Jungkook raised a brow and eventually regained his posture.

“Lord of War?” Jungkook asked, “My love, if I remember correctly my name is Jungkook. Jung. Kook.” He muttered, pulling her chin up to make sure she was looking directly into his eyes. When she finally did, Jungkook felt like he fell deeper into those crystal blue eyes.

“No, you are the God of War, Lord of War to me.” Yein fiercely fought back, “Until I have forgiven you then I will call you by your name!”

Yein removed herself from Jungkook, walking away from him and trying to see if she could find that lady called Xiu Ai. Jungkook watched at her disappearing silhouette, biting his lip he was debating whether to tell her the truth or to hide it.

“I loved her.”

Yein halted in her footsteps. She felt a pain in her chest and she knew it was her heart aching, she didn’t want to admit it but she had fallen in love with the heartless god. When she saw the scene in the maze, she had already assumed that she was his past lover but to hear him say it, was a completely different story.

“I was a young and foolish god and I fell in love with her when I first saw her. I admired her for years and when I found out she was not wedded to me, I was beyond devastated. I was angry and the Almighty one at the time and even Jiyeon and Jimin as they refused to retie to red string and so I tried to do everything for us to be together-“

“Lord of War, I only ask one thing.” Yein felt tears falling onto her cheeks as she tried to conceal the fact she was crying.

“What is it my love?” Jungkook walked towards Yein without hesitation and was about to grab her hand until he saw her heartbroken expression that made his heart ache equally.

“Do you still love her?”

Jungkook held Yein’s smaller hands in his and went on his knees. He never went down on his knees ever in his life, even for Xiu Ai and he gently grasped her hand as he looked up to her. ‘ God she looks so beautiful’ he thought to himself as she looked down at him with glass eyes.

“No, my heart remains for you and only you, my love.”

“Liar” Yein pulled her hands away and turned around to run away from Jungkook. The man however had other plans and pulled her back into a hug, burying his face into her neck.

“Let me go.” Yein said in a broken voice.

Jungkook shook his head as he held her tighter, feeling his heart clench harder and he wondered if her heart was feeling this way as well. But he knew better that it was his own hurting as he wanted nothing but her and to see her turn him away, is painful. He never wanted something- no someone so bad in his life and despite how childish for him to be in pain, just because she ignored his presence; it affected him. He never received attention or this feeling of appreciation or love and for it to be taken away from him, he didn’t know what to do.

“I only love you, believe me Yein.” He begged but the young woman said nothing but her whimpers of heart break could be heard. “ I was a foolish god- no man to fall in love with her, please do not leave me.”

“You do not love me.”

“That is not true!” Jungkook cried into her back, shaking his head.

“Gods and Goddess only fall in love once in their whole entire life time.” Yein calmly stated, her tears had stopped and she finally could stabilise her voice. “You love her still, there is no room for me.”

“No no no!” Jungkook tried to turn her around to look at her. “ You are the only one!”

“Lord of War, you just admitted to me that you loved Xiu Ai.” Yein pushed him away, “I am merely a replacement for her!”

“No, please that is not true.” Jungkook went on his knees again. However Yein turned around, she knew if she was to see him that she would give in to him. In her entire life she has never been selfish but for once she wanted nothing more than to-

“I want to go back home.”

Jungkook felt his heart break even more, if it was possible.
