“What is that? Ti…nder?”

 

Jennie’s cat eyes turned into saucers.

 

“You are invading my personal space, lady.” She kept her cool.

“This is my coffee shop. You are in my personal space.” Rose raised an eyebrow at her.

“That’s not how it works.” Jennie glared.

“Oh, I’m scared.”

 

Rose went back behind the counter.

 

“Are you friends with the youngest Kang?” her employee asked.

“I don’t call it as friendship. She seemed to loathe my presence.”

“Oh. Too bad. She’s quite a catch.”

“Enough Pinky. Get back to work.”

“Yes boss.”

“What is the meaning of this?”

 

Joohyun came home—at the Bae’s—during a Saturday afternoon with Seulgi.

The two slumps in the bed jumped and stuttered.

 

“Ah… I can explain.” The taller one said.

“… me too.” The shorter added.

“Park Sooyoung come with me.” Seulgi went out of the room with Joy tailing behind her.

“And you, Bae Yerim. How dare you keep this from me?”

 

Yerim stared down.

 

“You know I’m in charge because mom’s not here right?”

 

The younger girl nodded.

 

“We were just laying together.”

“That’s what Seulgi and I did first Yerim. Trust me, I know.”

“What is this?”

“A sweater.”

“Are you sure this is a sweater?”

“Yes! Now wear it.”

 

Seulgi stared at her wife—horrified.

 

“It’s summer.”

 

And even though it’s not, I won’t wear this thing!

 

“Let’s just see if it fits.” Joohyun insisted.

 

Oh God, no. It looks like a sack. Whoever told my wife that knitting is a good hobby, I’m gonna make them pay.

 

“O-Okay.”

 

Seulgi put on the sweater.

 

“Aww. You look like a trash.”

 

Seulgi frowned while Joohyun was laughing out loud.

 

“You tricked me!”

“Uh huh. Got her.” Joy popped up from behind the couch with a camera with her.

Seulgi’s eyes widened. “When did you get here?!”

“Thank you Joy.”

“Anytime unnie.”

 

Seulgi quickly removed the ugly sweater and ran after her wife but ended up getting crashed on a door.

 

“Joohyun open up!”

“What?!”

“I know what you’re doing!”

“No you don’t!”

“I’ll do anything you want!”

 

The door opened almost immediately.

Joohyun had an evil expression plastered all over her face.

 

“Anything?”

“Anything.”

 

Joohyun pulled her wife inside their room and locked the door.

“Yerim!”

“Oh come on Sooyoungie. It’s just one time! Besides, Saeron’s the one holding a party.”

 

Yerim pulled the taller woman inside the house of ruckus and drunk teens.

 

“Seulgi unnie will kill me Yerim!” Joy shouted as she automatically wrapped her arms around the younger girl among the rowdy crowd.

“She wouldn’t know if you say nothing!” Yerim shouted back.

 

They found Saeron and the gang lounging near the pool.

 

“HEYA!”

“Oh, Gretchen Weiners is here y’all!” Saeron yelled while holding up her red cup.

 

Joy frowned. I thought this was an alcohol-free party?

 

“Is that alcohol?” Joy asked.

“Oh no. It’s just punch—” Saeron was cut off by her half-gay-half-straight of a boyfriend.

“But with a tiny bit of a booze.”

“Sit there with them for a while Youngie. I’ll get us drinks.” Yerim said.

“I’ll come with you.”

“No. Stay there. I’ll be back before you know it.”

 

Joy sat with Yerim’s friends. She never wanted any of this—sitting with annoying teenagers.

 

“So, how old are you?” a cute girl with a very squishable cheeks said.

“And you are?” Joy was a bit aloof.

“Oh, sorry. I’m Suhyun and this is my brother Chanhyuk.” She pointed at the nerdy-looking guy who was wearing a pair of round glasses. “Don’t worry, I’ve been dragged into this too.”

Joy was pleased that Yerim still has at least one sane friend. “I’m a secretary and a friend of Mrs. Kang.”

“Kang? Seulgi Kang?”

Joy nodded.

 

She noticed that Yerim was taking a bit too long so she excused herself before darting off to the kitchen.

Joy spotted the small red head talking to a blonde kid.

 

“Bae Yerim.”

“Oh, Youngie.”

“I thought you’ll be back before I know it?”

“Sorry, I got caught up with Mark.”

 

They left the place and went back at the backyard.

 

 

Joy felt like a decade had just passed. It was almost midnight and Yerim won’t budge from being Gretchen Weiners to her friends.

When the clock ticked at 12AM,

 

“Bae Yerim, let’s go home.”

“But—”

“No buts. We’ve been here for almost five hours.”

“Can I have a sl—”

“No sleepovers. That’s not what you told your sister.”

“You are annoyingly obedient Sooyoung-ah.”

“I’m a woman of my words.”

“You sound like Seulgi unnie.”

 

Yerim bid her goodbye to her friends anyway.

 

“Thank you Sooyoungie!”

 

A smack on the cheek left Sooyoung feel like it was high school all over again.

As soon as Wendy unlocked their apartment’s door, she cursed.

 

“Oh my God. Kyungri’s bubble tea.”

“Wannie-ah! Is that you?”

“Oh . This is the third time I’ve forgotten—”

 

Kyungri in full pajamas showed up in front of her.

 

“My bubble tea?”

“Uh…”

 

Wendy stared at her girlfriend.

 

“I may have forgotten about it.”

“This is the third time.”

“Yes.”

 

Silence.

 

“Can I go in…?”

 

Kyungri stepped backwards, giving her space to walk in but her perfect almond eyes were still shooting daggers at her.

 

“I-I-I can make you one. Would you like that?” Wendy suggested.

 

Kyungri stared at her girlfriend for a second and left to her bedroom without responding.

 

“Okay. Home-made bubble tea coming right up.”

“Are you being serious right now?”

“YES! Why would I be joking?”

“You made me wore that trash-looking sweater just to blackmail me to buy you a bunny?”

“Absolutely!”

“So I’m gonna buy another one of you hopping around this household.”

 

Joohyun nodded—her round specs slightly falling off her nose bridge.

 

“Tell me how old are you again?”

“Twenty-six.”

“Six. Okay understandable.”

“Hey—I said TWENTY-SIX—”

“Yeah I know. I kind of heard the ‘six’ word. Hold up, I’m calling Joy to get you one.” Seulgi left her wife in her office to ring her assistant.

“I SAID TWENTY SIX!”
