Special Chapter - The Letter
A Bumpy Ride (Hiatus)I'm sorry, I am still so caught up in the whirlwhind that is my thesis (so I can graduate ASAP and get out of this college) but things are just so hard and complicated *sigh*. And it is kind of a let down since I can't concentrate on several things at the same time, so I write when I feel like it :| But I hope this special chapter means something for all of you? I apologize, again T.T
Joong Ki felt his fingers playing with the piece of paper tucked inside the pocket of his jacket. After the orientation trip, he received a shoebox full of pink envelopes. It was from the 'Love Letter' assignment, which he found rather ridiculous but turned out he got heaps of it much to his friends' jealousy (even if it was as expected from the popular guy, of course). Kwang Soo only got two, that poor dude, but Ji Hyo received quite a lot too, a bundle of blue envelopes from the male freshmans. He wasn't interested at the first time, but his nosy friends were reading the letters he got one by one and when he was concentrating on editing the pictures and videos into some kind of short movie for documentation, the squeal and snickers from the people huddled together in a corner behind him was hard to be missed.
"Yah, Joong Ki-ya! You got an international letter here." One of his friend called out to him, breaking his focus on his laptop screen.
"Huh?"
"This one is written in English." He grinned, flailing a piece of paper in the air.
It was the one and only letter written in English, and it perked Joong Ki's interest. Moreover, when he came across the sender's name on the baby pink envelope. Just the one he had been wondering to know for a while. He sat himself down the vacant chair at the park near his apartment, settling his backpack beside him and pulled the paper out of its cage.
It was the day when I saw you
You instantly caught my eyes
I watched your eyes and I was in a riddle
When you were walking by, I tried to say it
But then I froze, and never do it
I got weak, my words hit the ground
Why was it so hard just to say hello?
I thought it was temporary
Then I saw you again, I guess I was wrong
You got me with just another look
The way you carry yourself into situations
You're so good at that, in case you wanted to know
The beat of my heart got louder whenever I was near you
My nerves broke down in seconds everytime I saw you
I wanted you to know, you had me on the first glance
Your sparkling eyes, when you speak
Your soothing voice, in my crowded mind
Your presence, too much to bear
It's everything about you and the way you do
There's really nothing I couldn't point to
Your friends look good but you look better
And the one thing, always on the tip of my tongue since then:
'I want to get to know you better.'
"What are you doing?" A hand smacked the back of Joong Ki's head, and he jumped at the sudden attack. His hand quickly stuffed the letter back hastily inside his pocket before the intruder could notice what he was holding.
"Lee Kwang Soo, you wanna die?" he groaned, rubbing his head in annoyance. His tall and lanky friend had a wide grin plastered on his face when he took a seat next to him.
"No, but my heart kind of stopped beating for a second seeing our Song Joong Ki blushed like that because of a designated love letter."
The sentence got Kwang Soo locked underneath Joong Ki's sturdy arms, screaming and thrashing about, pleading for the latter to stop trying to kill him.
The letter really got Joong Ki worked the bloodstream rushing up to his face, he was smitten! Haha ^.^ The letter used such dramatic words for someone who only knew her senior just like, hours before it was written, so I wanted to make it clear that Hye Kyo copied some eye-catching sentences from her favorite songs (it was supposedly a love letter, hence the exaggerated words for someone you just met). For Joong Ki though, it felt sincere and real (he was really, really interested. Someone's blinded by a huge crush keke) and not so much for Hye Kyo, unfortunately. But as time goes by, only God knows how much this letter actually described their journey...
Until next time, kind readers. Thank you for being patient <3
