Chapter 11 

 

Sora was highly anxious when she was walking on her way to school. Her heart thumped loudly whenever she thought about Woohyun and she imagined how Raina, along with Woohyun’s friends, would react when they found out they were together. Sora has always been a very private person and she did not let anyone enter her life easily. Thus, being with Woohyun was something big for her and she just wished that she had made the right decision. 

 

“Look at her already thinking about me early in the morning.” Woohyun appeared out of nowhere, with a wide grin on his face, as Sora was waiting for the subway. 

 

Sora turned to him with surprise, “Look at him stalking me all the time.” 

 

Woohyun laughed and grabbed Sora’s hand, “I missed you,” 

 

The female gave him a look, “We just met like two days ago, and you call me everyday. You miss me?” 

 

He nodded rapidly, “Yes I miss Han Sora!” 

 

“I can’t believe I’m with you,” Sora shook her head but laughed - she was happy. 

 

Woohyun s his arms around her waist and Sora leaned closer to male, “You really like to diss me, huh?”

 

Sora laughed again with a nod before the train arrived and the two went inside. It was really crowded and so they had to stand for the whole journey to school. Woohyun immediately held Sora’s hand again when they got off from the train and on the whole way to their school. 

 

“Ah, it feels weird,” Woohyun ventured, “I used to come really early when almost no one is here.” 

 

Sora nodded with a sly grin, “Right, to leave notes under my desk.” 

 

The male blushed and look away, “Let’s not talk about it.” 

 

Sora laughed as they entered the school gate.

 

“Nam Woohyun!” 

 

Sora flinched and immediately released her grip from Woohyun’s hand. Suddenly she felt self conscious and insecure, not wanting the whole school to find out that she was together with Woohyun. The male looked at her full of bewilderment for a second before attending to Sungyeol who was behind them. 

 

“Did you do your bio homework yet? I need to copy it, please?” Sungyeol swung his arms around Woohyun, before he realized Sora’s presence, “Oh, hey Sora noona! It’s nice meeting you again!” 

 

“Yah! Yah!” Behind them was Nara catching up with the group, “Woohyun, give that to me first!” 

 

“Please just call me Sora,” Sora told the lanky male with a forced smile. She felt guilty for letting go Woohyun’s hand just like that. 

 

“Of course, you look too young to be called noona anyways,” Sungyeol grinned and turned back to Woohyun, “I need your bio, come on,” 

 

“Okay, okay, I’ll give it to you in class,” Woohyun removed Sungyeol’s arms which was around his shoulders and then turned his attention to Sora, “I’ll see you at lunch?” 

 

Sora smiled and nodded, “See you!” 

 

As Sora walked to her class, Woohyun was being dragged by Sungyeol and Nara to go to their class as well, but the former male couldn’t help but to keep looking behind his shoulders until his girlfriend was no where to be seen.

“I’ll tell you what,” Nara grinned widely as she closed Woohyun’s biology notebook and passed it to Sungyeol, “If you continue doing your homework like this, you’ll be at the top of the class in no time.” 

 

Woohyun chuckled sarcastically at her comment, “Yeah right,” he said, “And you’ll be at the bottom of the class if you keep on copying my work.” 

 

Nara only shrugged, keeping her wide grin, without showing any guilt. 

 

“Apparently Sora made you really diligent, huh?” Sungyeol said as his hands were busy writing. 

 

Woohyun smiled as he felt his heart doing its weird somersaults again every time he thought about Sora, “Hm.” 

 

“Are you going for soccer practice today, though? Coach has been asking us why you’ve been skipping practices lately,” Myungsoo jumped in as he sat on Sungyeol’s table.  

 

“Yeah, of course,” Woohyun nodded, “I won’t miss any practices again.” 

 

“This bastard,” Sungyeol said with frustration as he hit Myungsoo’s back, “Can’t you see I am in the middle of something urgent right now?” 

 

“Stop hitting me,” Myungsoo whined and then hopped down from Sungyeol’s table, “You never finish your work.” 

 

“Nara never finishes her work too!” 

 

“Why do you have to compare yourself to her?” Myungsoo retorted and the two continued to bicker. 

 

Nara only shook her head and turned her attention to Woohyun, “You think Sora can keep up with this?” 

 

Woohyun chuckled, “We’ll see.”

Sora felt all eyes were on her as she walked down the hallway towards her class. She passed Dongwoo with Ailee, who greeted and gave her a kind smile on her way and Sora couldn’t help but feel rather relieved. It felt like forever before Sora reached her class. Raina was there - her face looking really eager to talk to Sora.

 

“What happened during the weekend?” She immediately bombarded her with questions as soon as Sora put her back pack down, “How did Woohyun managed to get into that heart of yours? Did he-“ 

 

“Raina,” Sora cut her off, “Isn’t it too early to talk about this?” 

 

“No, I have to be the first one who hears how it went from your side,” she retorted, “We’ve all heard it from Woohyun, just wanted to validate his story.” 

 

Sora let out a small laugh, “He has a really big mouth, huh?” 

 

“I know, I didn’t know you were into chatty guys too,” Raina said almost trailing off the topic and making Sora relieved, “But anyway, how did he make it official?”

 

“I said I liked him a lot.” Sora answered casually.

 

“You said you like him a lot?” Raina had to suppress her voice, “You made the move? So it’s true?” 

 

Sora shrugged, “I guess, what did he tell you?” 

 

“The exact same thing,” Raina sighed, “But no one believed him and he was like frustrated,” 

 

Sora could only laugh, before the bell shrilled and their homeroom teacher entered the class.

The cafeteria was crowded but it didn’t take a long time for Woohyun to spot Sora and Raina who were at the end of the line, queuing up for food. He felt that it had been forever since he saw Sora and so without caring about his friends who were walking with him, Woohyun rushed to Sora.

 

“Y-yah!” Sungyeol shouted as he saw Woohyun vanishing and then he shook his head, “That guy has been really obsessed with Sora.” 

 

Nara, who was beside him chuckled, “Let him be,” she said, “He’s been chasing her for more than a year.” 

 

Sungyeol turned to Nara and sighed, “You’re always defending him.” 

 

“Well, he does his biology and lets me copy his work, so yes I am defending him.” Nara shrugged as she left Sungyeol and went to join Woohyun in the line. 

 

Woohyun was feeling all giddy and excited, even the idea that he could meet Sora during lunch was enough to make him smile to himself uncontrollably during class - Sungjong who was sitting beside him kept on giving him weird glances. 

 

“Sora,” Woohyun called from behind her with his wide smile. 

Sora turned around and beamed from ear to ear when she saw Woohyun, “Hi Woohyun,” 

 

“Okay, im going to leave the two of you and look for Howon,” Raina backed off, “I’ll meet you guys at the table.” 

 

Sora nodded and Raina left the couple.  

 

“It’s weird that I’ve never actually seen you in the cafeteria before we met that night in the subway,” Sora said. 

 

Woohyun chuckled, “I can’t say it’s the same for me, I always look for you.” 

 

“You’re too blunt, Nam Woohyun.” Sora retorted with a shy smile and took a tray for Woohyun before grabbing one for herself.

 

“Hm, but you like it,” Woohyun replied and Sora made a face before he laughed at her. 

 

The two handed out their trays to the canteen lady who scooped a handful amount of white rice and beef, and placed a bowl of tofu soup on the side of their tray. After saying thank you, Sora and Woohyun walked towards one of the long tables at the end of the cafeteria. 

 

“I feel guilty that Raina couldn’t eat with you all before we happened,” Sora muttered. 

 

“Don’t be,” Woohyun said, “You know she hangs out with Howon almost everyday after school,” 

 

Sora started feeling her nervousness again as he spotted Woohyun’s friend, and she hated it. Of course, the first thing she wanted was to be good friends with them, and she felt really bad how Woohyun’s friends were super welcoming but Sora was still feeling a bit anxious around them. 

 

“You two actually look really good together,” The first one who made a comment was Howon, sitting at the end of the table besides Raina. 

 

“Of course,” Woohyun chimed a proud smile and Sora just let out a small laughter. The male turned to Sora and let her sit beside Minjae, before whispering, “You look tense.” 

 

Sora sat and turned to Woohyun, “I’m fine.” 

 

“Did you lie when I asked you if you knew Woohyun at that time before the Arts festival?” Minjae gave Sora a suspicious look. 

 

“No I wasn’t,” Sora defended herself with a laugh, “I really hadn’t seen him all my life.” 

 

“Eyy, Woohyun’s going too fast on this then,” Dongwoo remarked. 

 

Woohyun placed his tray on the table and took a seat beside Sora, “Why? Because I don’t take as long as Howon?” 

 

The whole table gave a huge reaction to Woohyun’s sudden attack. Howon could only let out a shy laugh. Everyone knows how he has been chasing Raina but never have the guts to make it official - not like he has too though. Everyone already assumed that Howon and Raina were a couple.

 

“This topic comes up a lot and I don’t understand how you guys are never bored with it.” Raina said, shaking her head. 

 

“We’re finishing this after school,” Howon joked to Woohyun and the group responded with laughter. 

 

“Talking about after school,” Ailee jumped into the conversation, “Me, Nara and Minjae are planning to get supplies for the school mural. Do you want to join us, Sora?” 

 

“You guys are helping out with the art mural?” Sora asked back full of delight. 

 

“I convinced all of them to join since we need more people,” Minjae answered, being in charge of all the creative events the school has been doing. 

 

“I told you not to let Nara inside your team,” Sunggyu who has been quiet the whole time opened his mouth, “She’s just going to ruin everything.” 

 

Nara gave him a dead glare, “You just can’t stay away from dissing me for just one second, can you?” 

 

Sunggyu only shrugged and Sora let out a small laugh seeing the two. She can clearly see how Sunggyu was trying to chase Nara, but the latter was completely ignorant about that. 

 

“But yeah, you should join us if you like,” Ailee steered the conversation back on track again. 

 

Sora nodded, feeling extremely thankful how they were making an effort to include her inside the group, “Of course, I’ll meet you guys after school.” 

 

“And you, make sure you go for soccer practice,” Dongwoo reminded the male sitting beside Sora. 

 

Woohyun whined, “Ahh, you don’t have to remind me thousands of times.” 

 

The group ate their lunch whilst chatting without break. Woohyun couldn’t be happier, seeing how Sora was starting to make friends with them too. When the bell rang, signaling the students to get back to their classes, the male gave his girlfriend a longing look as they were about to separate ways. 

 

“That’s not going to work today,” Sora whispered to him, “I’m not going to kiss you at school.” 

 

“Who says I want you to kiss me?” Woohyun teased, “I just wanted to say bye.” 

 

Sora let out a made up smile, “I see,” she retorted, “I’ll take a note on that. No kissing after this then. I’m going to class, see you later.” 

 

Woohyun was about to whine again but even before he was able to do so, Sora left him staring at her back as she joined Raina walking to their class, “You’re making me go really crazy, Han Sora.”

Things were great for the new couple. Sora, being the disciplined person she was, made sure that Woohyun didn’t distract her from her academics and school activities. Woohyun, as we all could expect, was having a harder time balancing everything, but he eventually got a hang of it. Until that Friday. 

 

Sora was carrying out her prefect duty for the first half of their lunch time: ensuring that there were no student lingering inside the classrooms. She done with her inspection duty and was returning back to her class to get her report book so she could give them to Mrs. Lee. That was when she found Woohyun sitting on top of the teacher’s desk inside.

 

“W-what are you doing here?” She asked, startled to face Woohyun as soon as she entered her class. 

 

Woohyun grinned, “Can’t wait for you?” 

 

“Not inside the class, Woohyun,” Sora said as she went to her desk and filled out the report form.

 

Woohyun followed her and sat on Sora’s seat, “Ah, come on.”

 

Sora glared at him, but she couldn’t help feeling a little tempted, “You do know I am a prefect here, right?”

 

“It just makes it better, doesn’t it?” Woohyun slowly pulled Sora’s waist towards him, their body face to face almost pressing against each other.

 

“Not here, Woohyun,” Sora made a weak attempt to push away herself from Woohyun, but it definitely did not work. 

 

The male stood up, his fingers still gripping tightly, yet affectionately, on Sora’s waist, and he eliminated any gap between their bodies. Sora could feel the heat rushing throughout every veins and her heart was beating loudly - she knew this was wrong but somehow she enjoyed how wrong it felt. Woohyun pressed her even closer and subconsciously, she wrapped her arms around his neck as he leaned his head forward. Sora closed her eyes and she felt Woohyun’s soft, fleshy, lips rubbed against her for a split of a second, before she heard the door behind her open. Then it was silent. 

 

Sora pulled away from Woohyun, and slowly, she opened her eyes. Woohyun was still in front of her, although he was standing further than she remembered. His eyes shouted nervousness and fear as he stared at the person standing in front of the door. Sora did not want to turn her body around, but she eventually did. She would be damned if it was one of the teachers, but it wasn’t. She was someone worse: Kim Minjoo, the school’s drama queen was staring back at them with her cellphone on her hand, which Sora believed had recorded everything. 

 

“So it’s true,” Minjoo nodded with a victorious grin, fiddling with her phone, “Han Sora can be easily caught by the playboy Woohyun. I’ll make sure everyone sees this - oh this is going to be really great!” 

 

“What did you do, Minjoo?” Woohyun glared at her. 

 

Minjoo shrugged, “You don’t have to worry about that,” she said and stepped back from the door with an evil smile, “Have fun, you two.” 

 

Sora felt like all of her energy had been out. She couldn’t think and was only staring blankly at the closed door. 

 

“Sora-“ 

 

“I can’t- I can’t talk to you right now, Woohyun,” she managed to say, not even looking at Woohyun.

 

“Sora, I’m sorry.” 

 

The female ignored him and took the report form from her desk as she walked out of the class, she said, “Just leave, Woohyun.”
