THE EYES

            All the preparations for the beautiful wedding were almost done. The wedding cake, the decorations, the invitations and the most important thing the beautiful white wedding dress were all done and ready to face the beautiful wedding, but not the soon to be bride. The soon to be bride for the beautiful wedding’s name was Lee Bi Ah. She just stared emptily with her chrystal like eyes at the white wedding dress on the dress form in her bedroom as she sat at the edge of her princess like bed and was ignoring her mother and the soon to be mother-in-law that kept on talking about how she would become the most beautiful bride when she wearing the white wedding dress.

But Bi Ah didn’t like it, she didn’t like all of it, in fact she didn’t like the wedding itself or even the thought of it, because this was an arranged marriage. She forced to marry someone she didn’t even know for an old story, a family business arranged marriage, that would benefit the business from the two families. That thought, making her anger rose up again as she got up from her bed and stomped her feet to look outside her large bedroom windows. Her act made the two mothers stopped their talk. It wasn’t a secret that Bi Ah really opposed the arranged marriage, her mother always convinced her that the marriage would give her happiness and the soon to be husband was a really good man. Instead of convinced her in the hard way her mother always gave what she wanted as long as Bi Ah would agree with the marriage that the two mothers were willingly left her alone in her room. But of course, Bi Ah would never agree with the arranged marriage.

Bi Ah was standing in front of her large bedroom windows now, her chrystal like eyes stared at the view outside, again emptily. She didn’t want to feel anything, perhaps if she could not avoid the arranged marriage anymore, she wanted the arranged marriage to quickly be hold and she would allow herself to receive the happiness –the false happiness– that her mother had told her, for the rest of her life. She never thought of ending her own life to avoid the arranged marriage because she thought it was the stupidest thing to do to avoid a problem, so she prefered to face the problem quickly with hope the problem would quickly end too or so she thought.

A little bird that passed by her windows catch her attention and made a glint appear in her chrystal like eyes. She watched as the bird flew around the large garden outside her bedroom. How she wanted to be that bird, so free, and she wanted to be freed from this arranged marriage cage. The little bird was continue flying around and her eyes shifted to stare at the large garden outside. But it wasn’t just a common garden with flowers and trees. The large garden outside her mansion like house was actually a large maze garden, it was located at behind her house. Now that she was looking at the maze garden made her mind wonder to when she was a little and once got lost in there and suddenly she remembered the eyes. A pair of beautiful deep crimson eyes.

           There was a big party at night in Bi Ah’s house when she got lost in the large maze garden 15 years ago and she was just a 7 years old little girl that time. Because she felt bored that her parents was busy with their guests, she went outside to the large maze garden behind her house to play by herself. Her parents always reminded her that to never go inside the maze garden but she always felt curious about it, to why they built a large maze garden but always prevented her to go inside it.

Curiousness got the best of her, so little Bi Ah went inside the maze garden and immediately got lost. When Bi Ah realized that she had been got lost, she was starting to feel afraid and trying to find the exit way by running here and there. But she didn’t find it or even the way when she entered the maze garden. She didn’t give up and continue run to find the exit way but suddenly her feet got stuck on a tree branches and she fell down to the ground. Bi Ah wanted to cry because she saw that her knees were bleeding and it was really hurt but she couldn’t because it was her own fault that she didn’t listen to her parents that always remind her to never go inside the maze garden. So, she brushed a little dirt on her light pink dress that she wearing that time and tried to get up to continue her search for a way to exit this maze garden. But when she tried to get up she hear a noise behind her.

She immediately felt scare and was about to cry out loud, really afraid of what that noise was before a young man came out from the shadow. The inside of the maze garden was dimly lit made Bi Ah couldn’t see who he was, but as he walked near to her still sat down on the ground, she could see that the young man was really gorgeous and tall. He was wearing all black formal attires that Bi Ah assumed he was one of the guests at the party. The gorgeous young man crouched down in front of her and Bi Ah was immediately mesmerized by his beautiful eyes, his beautiful deep crimson eyes. His eyes shone through the dimly lit of the maze garden and she didn’t know why that she didn’t afraid of him. He gazed down into her chrystal like eyes that fill with tears then she watched as he plucked a red rose from a little roses bush there near them and knelt down on one knee in front of her as he gave the red rose to her as an attempt to stop her from crying. Bi Ah accepted the red rose and looked up to gaze into his beautiful deep crimson eyes again.

The gorgeous young man suddenly pointed toward his left without looking away from her chrystal like eyes. She understood what he mean that he told her the way to exit the maze garden. Slowly she got up on her feet and amazed that she didn’t feel any hurt on her knees, she looked up to him who also had stood up in front of her. When she offered her hand to ask him to come with her, he shaked his head slowly and motioned her to go out of the maze garden by herself with his hand. Then she nodded her head and looked up to gaze into his beautiful deep crimson eyes for the last time and was starting to walk the way he had pointed to her. But when she looked back to see the gorgeous young man again, he already disappeared.
