“Welcome abroad to Snow White’s Scary Adventure. Sit back and enjoy!” I said with my usual big, banana smile as I watched the parents pulled the safety bar across the children and their laps. I pushed the button and the car slowly moved on the track. As the car made a brief stop by the stand of controls and buttons I was sitting behind, I quickly checked to see if the lock was applied to the bar by pulling lightly on it.
That was what I, Gui Gui Wu, do basically every day in this magical place in Anaheim, California this summer. Call me stupid or what, but this had been my childhood dream job. Yes, at the tender age of four, I had already made plans that I would work in this beautiful place called Disneyland while I was on summer break from college. I just loved this place too much.
Besides an employee discount, the biggest reward must be the big banana smile on each child’s face. Those smiles always made my smile grow wider. They just warmed my heart so much.
If only I could find my Prince Charming here as well…
