*Ring*

She picked up her phone and found who the caller was...it was none other than Lee Donghae. It’s 10 o’ clock in the evening, why would he call that late?

“Hello? Why did you call?” she answered

“Let’s meet at the school’s playground”

“What school?”

“Our high school”

“Why? Are you serious? It’s so late” she asked confusedly

“I want to tell you something. I’ll be there at 10 p.m. sharp. Don’t be late. I’ll wait”

He’s always waiting and now, she’s not going to let Donghae wait...never again. But wait, why did he call late this night?

Is he going to ask her again? But why this time? There are so many questions forming on her head one by one but she couldn’t answer them. Well, if he does, if he does ask her again, SHE HAS NO OTHER REASON TO REJECT HIM AGAIN.

 And if he does...She’s going to confess her feelings for him...that she’s madly, crazily, and stupidly in love with Donghae.

“Don’t worry Donghae...I won’t make you wait...never again” she smiled through herself

She stepped on the snow-covered soil of the playground and caught the glimpse of a familiar figure sitting on the swing .Sure it was Donghae...but he looked sad

“Hae” she called out

He stood from his tracks and gave his trademark smile...yet a sad smile

“Why did you call me?”

He turned back, not minding her question

“Do you still remember the day we first met?”

“Yes. I was really mad at you for putting a cucumber inside my bag” she laughed “I remember I used to fight with you back then and punch the guts of you”

“Still remember the time I got reprimanded by Mr. Lee for so many times for bullying you?”

“Yes. Even though they’re somehow painful...no, I’m just joking...even though they’re somewhat crazy, I still love the fact that I am missing those times...those classic moments we made together”

He just grinned back and their eyes met. They were smiling at each other but Donghae seems lost by seeing his expression. When Jessica looked away, he finally got the chance to let his  tears out

“Sica” he said, breaking the silence

She looked at him puzzlingly on the sight of him crying

“I’m getting married”

That statement froze Jessica’s body. Her heart was ripping and she was starting to tear up as well.

“You didn’t tell me”...”Damn” she thought

How would you feel when you’re going to confess yet you knew that the person you love is never meant for you? Well, it hurts, right?

That’s how Jessica felt that day

“It was sudden. I just knew it a while ago. My father is dying and he wished me to marry this woman whom I never really loved. I have always loved you Sica but-“

“Are you sure?”

“Why wouldn’t I? Just tell me not to get married and I will call off the engagement. Even if it means eternity, I will always wait for you”

She wants him to run away from his wedding but it’s his dying father’s last wish and she has no right to go against it. And besides, she has made him patiently wait for five years yet she’s always rejecting him.

“Go and marry her. Don’t hurt yourself because of me. It’s your father’s last wish so better not to disappoint him. Congratulations” she was expressionless but her voice seems shaky

She was hurt...deeply hurt. After saying those hurting words, she ran away and never looked back...leaving also the hurt and confused Donghae from behind.
