“I almost gave up waiting on you! I seriously thought you wouldn’t make it,” Chorong greets her cheerfully. Sohee gleams as she spots the empty window seat next to her. It touches her a little that she probably has kept it free for her. Especially since Chorong belongs to the more popular girls, and would have found a sitting partner in no time if she wanted.

“I brought you a little something,” Sohee confesses, and sneakily pulls out a little bag she has hidden beneath her shirt earlier before taken her seat next to her. “I got off two stops before and therefore got a chance to take the short-cut through the market. I sa-“ but she doesn’t make it to the last words as Chorong exclaims happily, “Chicken feet?! You’re the best, your late coming is forgiven!”

She offers her a bite but Sohee politely declaims. It’s really not her favorite dish, but she knows how much Chorong loves them and after shamelessly screwing this poor guy off some money she felt like it wouldn’t be the worst idea to do something good with it and surprise her friend. Now more than pleased that she has thought so far, even though it has taken her some more minutes to actually reach the bus. Well, what Mister Son doesn’t know won’t hurt him.

“Are you excited? Stuff like this has always been your kind of thing, no?”

Sohee in her bottom lip, pretending to be in thought about the question. Before shaking her head, “Not really, I mean yes I like stuff like this, but I’m not that excited. Interested, yes. I’m not really into this creepy horror stuff, I just like the calmness of a cemetery. It feels oddly homey. Like, mind soothing. So I’m not sure about this one. Sounds more like some urban legend thing and I’m really not that fond of sleeping in a temple,” Sohee muses and continues to gnaw on her lips.

“Says the history A grade student,” Chorong teases, “but say, are you still going to participate in that ballet play after summer breaks?”

“Looks like it. Everyone was onto me reminding me how important it is to do my daily stretches.” Sohee smiles weakly before glancing toward Chorong,”would you help me? I mean we could do some stretches together, right?” It’s always more fun and rewarding when extra chores are shared. Also, Chorong is flexible and as far as Sohee knows is she just as much focused to get the next Taekwondo belt, so stretching wouldn’t be the worst for her either.

“Sure!” Chorong nods her head, and Sohee beams at her. Proud of herself how she stealthily managed to also find her room partner for at least tonight.

Her expectations weren’t wrong. It was nice and all, and informative to have an intern guide through a temple. After that, they were asked to give up on their entertainment electronics for the week. As for whatever reason their teachers thought it would be nice to experience the real temple life. With doing chores, bathing in the cold water of the wells, and eating special diets including much vegetables and a bowl of overcooked rice.

Sohee absolutely despises this. And by 'this', she doesn’t even exactly mean the outdated life style, the constant prayers, or the boring chores. No, she means the feeling of being locked away. There is only a little off time and nowhere to go. She is almost relieved when the day passes and the coming of the night dawns upon them.

After some more evening prayers and a spare meal, they were finally dismissed to go in their rooms. Chorong holds her promise and really does take a room with her. With them is Hani, who left soon after everyone else has prepared for the night. It’s pretty obvious that she thinks to be stealthy and Sohee has to admit they were pretty discreet about it. But the affair between their sports teacher and her always has been an open secret to her. It’s pretty obvious in the way he glances at her during sports routines. Or how she always stays back after class to help clean. Clean her , the only thing she did clean was the mess he left inside of her. Obviously poor Hoya is one of the few who are not aware of it.

However, neither of the two remaining girls do the promised stretches, as both were too tired from the day. And there is only little to no motivation in an almost dark room, as they have to use oil lamps. “I feel like we traveled back in time…” Chorong muses as she blows out the lig

Chapter 8: This was a beautiful story! It reminded me a bit of the Maze Runner concept, but different still. I felt so bad for Hoya, especially, and was sad to see people die, but at the same time, it made sense and was satisfying. I really liked the way you ended it, too. It was a nice close to a good story♡.

Chapter 8: I won't say this is sad, not again lol. In the horrid way that Sulli deserved her in, there is also the what if and if only, but alas. It is what it is.
I really love what you had added to the end, the bit that I hadn't already read. The line about leaving her most precious thing behind really clues in that all of this is her fantasy and that is... I said I wouldn't say it but I must... that is sad but also it helped her to deal with everything. So then I think that the flashes to the other reality are more like flashes of ACTUAL reality, and her mind is being shocked out of its fantasy momentarily before she allows herself to fell in more. The addition of the pomegranite was inspired! I loved that little tidbit of a play on Hades and Persephone, but also the symbolism of the blood/juice on her fingers. Brilliant.
The end. Those words are sad to read but also I am very very proud of you!!! You completed TWO chaptered stories in just two months! You should be very proud of yourself!!!

Chapter 7: oh oh and I love that last line. "Sometimes she needs to be miserable". That is so true and my, it's a beautifully poignant line

Chapter 7: Ah man. T.T Again with the what if's and if only's!!! >.< But that is so realistic about life in general: what if we did this, if only we didn't do that... but hindsight is 20/20, as they say. Really nice way to show that even though the possibilities will probably haunt me forever hahaha. =D
You know, what we were talking about with the one rule? I think you did that well here. Like there is only one lead, and that is Sohee, and since it's focused so strongly on her it is as if the rest of them are just mentions to get her to her goal. And that's not a bad thing, either: it makes her relly stand out in the midst and show her character as being tired of the world and people in general. Chorong is your exception here and I do feel that you did it that way on purpose because well, her friend is one of the only things still tying her to the world of the living.
Again, the way her mind takes her elsewhere is amazing. I love the way you did that and the way that is pieces together the alternate story as well as showing a deeper glimpse into her character.

Chapter 6: Oh goodness this was so sad. Like poor her and all because they grew afraid and ran. But also I like the hinted alternate reality in that it was from the buillding, that's such a neat way to put this. I like Jiyong's involvement in this, too, because it's like he is there for her even though he shouldn't be. Or should he? Like he has always been there for her because she ahs always courted death? That's an interesting thought 0.o
But oh man if ONLY! there are so many if only's in this and it makes me sad!!!! But again, I guess that's the way that suicide and life play out, that's really sad.

Chapter 5: UGH Krystal *sad* I haven't read your response to my comment last night yet so I don't know if it had anythign to do with her sister as well as the whole boyfriend stealing thing, but regardless it is still sad. I really love the way the flashbacks start here... showing how the trauma around her pulls out the turmoil and remembered trauma within her. That's a really cool way to show that we never get over things, but we instead bury them and pretend to get past them. well done!
The imagery was gorgeous, I could picture Ciel so well and I LOVED the way you pulled in her name with meaning! Very clever to do it that way!!! I like the riddles a lot, especially the final one... and again, my heart kind of broke a little when Sohee knew the answer so easily. T.T The poor girl!
