jokes, it's just squad kodawari here with an exciting new contest to celebrate our one year anniversary! we know we say it a lot (and that it sounds cheesier every time we say it), but we wouldn't be anywhere without the love and support that you guys give us. so we thought: "what better way to give back to the aff community than hosting a prize-filled contest?"
through this contest, we're hoping to get to know some of our requesters better while making some new friends along the way. not too familiar with kodawari? no worries! we're essentially a review shop here on aff that aims to help writers improve while encouraging creativity and camaraderie.
this contest is split into four different categories that are designed to showcase each of our interests and hobbies. once you decide which category you'd like to enter, you will have to use at least one of the prompts from the category as well as the seventeen song of the chosen category as inspiration for your story.
any element of the prompt is fair game, no matter how small of an aspect it is. let your creativity take over and show us what you can do! just be sure to only mention the prompt using the prompt code (e.g. j1, t13) to keep your readers guessing!
so put your writing hats on, blast some catchy music, and get ready to have a good time!

1. please subscribe to this contest for any updates or announcements. Upvoting and advertising is optional, but appreciated!
2. the point of this contest is to pass around the good vibes while enjoying everything that the aff writing community has to offer. that being said, respect your fellow competitors! any bashing or plagiarism will not be tolerated.
3. link back with the contest name in the foreword of your entry. please also notify us if you plan on withdrawing, discontinuing, or deleting your entry.
4. using at least one of our prompts is required though you may also use other prompts for inspiration. include your prompt number on your story's foreword or link to your prompt at the end of your story.
5. any story published after july ninth is eligible as an entry. the deadline is january 8th at 11:59 PM est.
6. you may enter four entries maximum; however, you cannot submit the same story in different categories. if more than one entry places within the top tier, the lower score will automatically win honorable mention and only the highest-scoring entry will win a prize.
7. idolxoc, idolxidol, het, , and yuri are accepted, as are all idol groups and actors/actresses! we will not accept pwp, fics, gender bender, or mpreg.
8. there is no word mimimum/maximum, but please note that we will not be accepting drabble collections or oneshot collections for this contest.
9. please do not have your story on subscribers-only when the judging period begins unless your story contains a trigger warning. failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification, since we cannot access your full story.
10. when you're ready to submit your story (complete or incomplete), comment on this thread using the entry form to the right. the password is "cinnamon roll$." If your story is not complete when the judging period begins, we will not be considering your entry.
