Chapter 5: Decision and Her Guardian

The coldness of the air tickled her as she was staring at the book for too long. She read the same sentence over and over again, yet, she can't understand what it says. Her mind was still processing what Mrs. Dane and Hyerin told her. They are trying to convince with puppy eyes and smart saying.

Who knew they would be close in a short period of time?

Jade sigh before trying to reading the book again. Second by second, the thought she had a while ago, vanished as her mind drifted away from reality. 

She's too focused that she didn't notice two ladies creeping in her room. They sat down infront of Jade, who's attention is still glued at her book. The two glance at each other and shrug

"How can we persuade her?"

"How I wish I knew the answer"

They both sigh that caught her attention

"Oh! Mrs. Dane, Hyerin..Uh.. Hi?" An awkward smile appeared on her face.

"Wait, How did you get in without me, noticing--"

"What's your decision?" Hyerin asked straightforwardly that made her friend flinch. Jade stayed silent and fiddled with her book

After a minute of silence, she blurted out something stupid but still has sense

"Tea, anyone?" 

After the unexpected tea party, the silence once again rise. The tension thicken as Jade peep at them before glancing back at her tea. This went on and on until Mrs. Dane explode

"That's it! You two will come to the library with me" She exclaim and drag the two outside.

The hallway is eerily quiet. No Exopians lurking around.

"That's...strange. Where are the students?"

"Well, I think they are scared of the weakest creature of Exopia" Hyerin shrug as if it's not big deal.

Jade blinked at the revelation and never dare to ask again

Am I that scary?

The thought almost made her sad but quickly shook it off and focus her attention onto something

"Why aren't we using your teleportation, Mrs. Dane?~" Hyerin whine and pout. After the left turn, Mrs. Dane muttered

"Teleportation is not allowed in the library because a certain kid blocked it." Jade chuckled.

She knew who the kid was. He's the one that she met few days ago. But how did Mrs. Dane met him? Ahh. Must be because of oftenly visiting where section he was.

Wait, block?

She thought the golem did that but no, she's wrong

"Watch out!" A scream echoed the hallway as a flying fire frisbee. It happen too quickly that Jade didn't notice it. She close her eyes tight and silently prayed

Mama, Please help me. Like there's a flying frisbee and you know what's worst? It's on fire. I want to cry, Mama. Ok bye

She can here the two gasp in surprise. Is her hair burning? Ah no, it's not hot so that's not the reason. She open her eyes slowly to see what's happening. Her eyes snapped open when she saw the freaking frisbee, just bloody centimeters infront of her face and it's not burning. The random student, Mrs. Dane and Hyerin gaped at her as she was busy controlling the once burning frisbee.

Jade slowly bring her hand down and it followed her. The fire extinguish because of her wind power. It decrease the amount of oxygen of the fire for it to vanished. She drop her hand and it followed. The student bowed and ran off, obviously scared. The werefox blinked twice and look at the thing on the ground. 

Yep, I'm scary

Mrs. Dane grabbed her hand and ran like somebody was chasing them

Finally, They arrive at the floor with sweaty forehead and uneven breaths. The owl statue became real, flew toward them and landed on Mrs. Dane's outstretch arms and talk to them through mind

"What happen?"

Before Jade can answer, Hyerin raise her hand up to her face and point to the lady and the owl with her lips. The werefox look at the two and saw Mrs. Dane's serious face and the owl's blank face. Suddenly, The owl nod and jumped off her hand. He flap his wings and turn into a man

"Sylvester!" Jade exclaim, happily. A loud grumble was heard below followed by a mini earthquake. Jade zip and look at the man with a smile drawn on her face.

"Jade!~" He answered sarcastically and wave while rolling his eyes. Jade made face and also roll her eyes. Sylvester grin and went to the rows of shelf, finding something

All of the sudden, He snapped his fingers and glance at Jade

"You have the book that has a weird title, right?" She nodded and tilt her head

" 'The Start' ?" The man hummed in response. Hyerin cleared

"You knew each other?" 

"Sort of" They both answered at the same time while Jade sat on the chair and Sylvester climbed up the moving ladder. She looked at them with disbelief look and glance at Mrs. Dane who shrugged her shoulders. She facepalm and walked around to find a book that might widen her knowledge about Exopia

After a while, he ask a que
