A few years later, after their wedding

Eunji woke up on saturday in the middle of the day, her work at the lab taking over her sleep. But now it was weekend and even if YongGuk was working, it didn't mean she get bored. She woke up and cleaned the room, doing laundry. Then she simply went on the couch to read. At night she opened the door to the garden and fell instantly. She looked at the big dog hovering over her and screamed.  She was really scared of dogs and tried to stand up. She ran back to the door and closed it back. She sobbed on the couch. Really afraid now. How this dog got in her garden ? It was closed.

She wiped her tears trying to calm herself and went to take a shower. While getting , she noticed the bruise she get from falling down. The door of the bathroom opened on her husband when she finished her shower and wrapped herself in a towel. “Gosh what happened to you ?”

 “There's a huge dog in the garden, he jumped on me while I tried to get out of the house. Why is he here . Have you seen it ?” She asked, getting nervous again. Eunji considered his face and frowned. “YongGuk , why do you have this guilty face ?”

She pulled away and looked at his face. “Eunji listen, this dog I've bring it here.”

“YongGuk You're not my husband anymore.” Eunji shouted, eyebrows furrowed.  He giggled at this sentence and tried to hug her without success. He sighed looking at her cross her arms unsatisfied with his actions. He started to explain himself signing.

“I know you're afraid of dogs. But he had nowhere to go. His master died in a car accident and the dog is all sad, there was no one to take him.”

Eunji slowly nodded. “Find a solution. I don't want it here.”

Her newly husband sighed. “Yeah I know. I'm sorry. Let me take care of that bruise; okay ?”

Eunji let him put oinment on her bruise and went to the bed. “Hey you're not hungry ?”

“I'm tired this dog encounter it made me tired.” Eunji said, moody. He decided not to mind her as it was her usual self.

YongGuk nodded and resolved himself to eat alone. He went to the garden and found back the dog with pleasure. “Hey buddy. You met Eunji huh ? But she's a crybaby she's scared of you.”

The dog still looked disorientated and YongGuk decided to bring it to the vet tomorrow to check it everything was fine. He gave it a fair amount of food. And went back to the house.

“He stinks” Eunji said seriously, sat in front of TV. YongGuk nodded slowly, he got used at this dog odor but Eunji developed sense of smell felt it as a strong odor.

“Why are you afraid of dog ?” YongGuk finally asked.

Eunji shrugged. “I got bitten when I was 7. .”

He hugged her. “This puppy right here is sad. He lost the woman who cared for him. We couldn't do anything for her. They were in the car and got into an accident. He's the only survivor. He keeps crying. So I'll find him a family okay ? But in the meanwhile, let me keep him in the garden.” Eunji nodded and looked at YongGuk caress the dog. “He does those weird pleading noises, you know the ones that sad dogs do.”

Eunji stayed in the kitchen while YongGuk was giving food to the puppy. He looked happy. Since their early stage of relationship, she knew he had a soft heart, for animals, dogs, or more exotic ones like jangourou. His gummy smile was shining brightly and she ended up staring at him. He came back after cuddling with the dog and Eunji smiled.

“You reck of dog. Do not deserve kiss.”

He laughed, amused by her statement and headed to the bathroom.

Coming back in the living room he looked at Eunji stare at the dog through the door of glass. The two beings were looking at each other. She kneeled and glued her hand to the glass, the dog imitated her and she giggled.  He came to her side and hugged her. “See ? He's not going to be uncomfortable for you. Just a few days.”

She pecked his cheek with a nodd.  As they were on the bed, Eunji was getting really sleepy when she feltYongGuk move around a lot more than he usually does. She the lamp. “What happening ?”

“The dog is making noise.” He signed, with an annoyed expression.

“Oh. Well that's your very own problem. Goodnight then.” She turned off the lamp and lied down on the bed to sleep.

YongGuk pinched her tigh. “You evil wife.”

As YongGuk got ready for the vet the next day, he looked at Eunji. “Hey coming with me ?”

“NO.” She said dryly before going back in the bedroom. He giggled to himself. “Hey I need someone to drive me. I would like to reassure him during the drive. Would you drive me there ?”

Eunji gave him a back eye.

“Hey please.”

Defeated by his pouty face, she went to shower without conviction and when she was ready, YongGuk laughed seeing her run to the car. He walked with the dog to ther car and Eunji grimaced; “You're not putting it in a box ?”

He giggled. “Have you seen how huge he is ?”

Eunji groaned and started to drive. Eunji felt neglected seeig how YongGuk cared about the dog, reassuring him and patting his head. She drove to the vet in silence and when she parked, YongGuk jumped out of the car.

“What do I get to this drive ?”

“The reward to have helped a miserable dog ?” He sighed with a adorable smile.

She laughed and turned her head. She waited quietly reading, totally engrossed in her reading. As YongGuk came back, he looked troubled. Eunji looked at him sat in the back in deep thoughts, hugging the dog tighly. Eunji gave him a questionning look before starting to drive, worried about him. YongGuk and his big heart. She was driving home when YongGuk catched her attention. “Park here.”

“What the dog need to puke ? Poop ?” She whined and cursed under her breath. “You know I hate to park in front of people. Gosh I hate this dog.”

He laughed and went out with the dog. As he came back, she smiled brightly seeing the drinks in his hands. “Vanilla latte !!!”

“Your reward. I know it's no fun for you..” He pecked his cheek and got back in the back seat with the dog.

As they arrived home, Eunji looked at YongGuk guide the dog back in the garden. “He's deaf. I had suspicion but he lost all of his hearing. I thought it was because of his age but it's because of the accident, it was brutal.”

Eunji widened her eyes. “Oh.”

“So I don't know if people would want to have him. You know usually a dog like him it's to keep the home safe and brag about.”  He sighed loudly. “But I'll try my best. I promise.”

Eunji nodded slowly and kissed his lips. “Okay.”

The next day when she came back home early, she looked at the dog trying to catch her attention. She ignored it and watched tv. Seeing the doorring lighten, she went to open the door. Her neighborg.

“Ya do something about your dog already !!!” The middle age lady shouted.

“My dog ?” Eunji repeated, not understanding her entirely.

“He keeps barking all day all night, I'm really tired of this. Do something !!!!”

Eunji bowed respectfully and closed back the door. She opened the door and sighed. “Ya dog.”

The dog didn't bulge and she walked to him. He stood up and jumped excited. “You big moron. Neirborghs are complaining.”

He was smelling her and looking at her not understanding what she said at all. She shhhed him and he looked confused. “One dog over there needs to learn sigh langage, right ?”

She took his leash and ended up having a walk around the neighbordhood with him, basically just running after him. He was excited of going out. This big dog probably needed a lot of walking in a day and he probably barked all day to get outside she just realized. She ended up sharing an icecream with him after ceding to his pleading eyes. When she came back to her street, she looked at the empty house. She grabbed her phone that she forgot there and read the message he sent her. “Going to Incheon Hospital to a special week intership. See you on saturday. Love u”

She scoffed. “You don't even have time to make full sentence anymore ?”

YongGuk was busy, way busy for her liking. Taking really heavy schedule. Assisting to all the longest operations. Sleeping at the hospital. She didn't like that. On her side, she had regular schedule as an analyst. She worked on blood all day yet yet regular breaks and when 5 strikes she's home. They already argued because of this, but she got of YongGuk that he get back home on the weekend at the very least.

She spent her week alone at home with some pleasure. She took time to shower the dog one night with a mild shampoo for dogs. “I don't even remember what's your name anymore ? You're a male right ? I'll call you Pilou.”

“Pilou ! You like it. Your sign is like a bomb because you dropped there like a bomb.”  She hugged him and laughed as he shakes his body wetting her in the process. She went to her late night walk with her dog outside of the neighborhood with pleasure. He liked being outside with her and he loved her company. She never thought she would fall for this dog when she saw him the first time but now he felt comforting. She wasn't alone anymore. She walked back home and looked at the shop.

“Oh. Maybe some snacks.”

As she tied her dog leash outside, she entered the market and took an icecream. Passing the pads region, she widened her eyes. Why it seems it's been a while she didn't get her period, is she pregnant ? Gosh it's been a one month and a few days ...  She got some moment of panic thinking how forgetfuk she was with her pills and only got back her senses when YongGuk called. She the videocall and waved to YongGuk.

He smiled and turned around the camera before signing. “I'm home unlike some rebel wife. So where are you ?”

“Byuing pads.” Eunji answered petty. She had a hidden smile noticing he got home on friday night instead of saturday. He nodded. “Come home then if you grabbed them.”

She walked back home almost running yet seeing YongGuk at the corner of the street she stopped to run and walked very slowly. He didn't see her yet he was looking the other side of the street. As he saw her he widened his eyes. “ Why the dog is with you ? I thought you hated ...”

“He's cute. And guess what ? He's home all the time.” Eunji counterattacked before entering the home and leaving him outside.

“This week was important. I was in cardiology.” He said out loud.

He entered home and found Eunji petting her dog. “Pilou, time to eat right ?”

He looked at her give him food while petting him. He sat in front of her and she sighed. “What ?”

“Not happy to see me ?”

“It almost feel weird  to have you here. I guess they have good mattress at Incheon hospital”

YongGuk frowned. “Are you going to argue again about the fact that I'm busy ?”

“No.” Eunji reassured him. “ … I know it really counts for you. But Is it always going to be like this ? You know I hate to sleep alone yet you sleep all week at the hospital. You're busy and I respect that … but when we'll have children you'll be the same ? “

“Children, that's not right now and since that time I'll be less busy, my intership will be over okay ?”

Eunji shrugged. “Okay then.”

YongGuk didn't like her silent face. Really not. They were in bed now and he was trying to make her speak out.  “My period is late. ” She finally said.

“WHAT ??? That's absolutely amazing.” He had a huge gummy smile and Eunji couldn't help but imitate him.  He came to hug her and understood all her worries on her face. “This is why you were so worried ?” He rocked her in his arms. “You're not alone in this journey. I'm here for you.”

She smiled hugged him. “Promise ?”

He kissed her little fingers and she finally smiled. “ So you didn't take the test yet ?”

Eunji shook her head and looked at YongGuk peck her lips. “I'll buy two tests at the store, just stay here and drink water.”

She laughed and did as told, gulping as much water as she could. He came back very shortly and they moved to the toilets. She sat on it and looked at YongGuk open the test. He looked excited. She peed on the sticks and went to join him on the bed. She gave him one and kept one to herself.

“3 minutes they say ?”

Eunji nodded and looked at YongGuk grin. He kissed her lovingly, at first softly, always making sure she could breath. She was lying on the bed, letting him have control over her. She let him kiss her whole neck and her sensitive ears before laughing. Bringing him in a hug she caressed his hair. “YongGuk you're so extra.”

He kissed her and she obliged to her loving husband. Soon he looked on his phone and gasped. “It's been 10 minutes.”

He came to spoon her and they looked at the tests. Negative. Both of them. Eunji widened her eyes. “Oh ? But how come I didn't get my period yet this month ?”

“Stress. You're also a bit lonely these days it might be that too. Remember like two days ago, you were jealous and sad because of me ?”

She shrugged and pouted a little. YongGuk pinched her cheek. “You're sad ?”

“Well, on a part, I still want to be newly weds without any responsibility, but I can't deny I want to have a family with you.”

YongGuk kissed her cheek. “We have time for that. Let me become a real surgeon first. I want to fully enjoy the pregnancy, not being away all the time.”

Eunji nodded. “Sure.”

''A year and a half later

"I have the honor to announce you that you're expecting twins !!” Eunji was having her belly checked to discover the of the babies. And the doctor laughed, in a really good mood.

“Really ?” YongGuk thanked the doctor and soon his wife grabbed his hand, trying to understand what the good news was. “What did he say ?”

She crossed the look of the doctor, a supposed friend of YongGuk, lingering on her.

“We're having twins.” Eunji and him crossed eyes and smiled. She was three months pregnant and both of them were extremely happy of this new step. Now it was no wonder her bump was so huge at only three months. It was almost enormous. Getting married felt like a huge step, getting diplomas together but now having twins was a new adventure.

The doctor suddenly talked to YongGuk, and Eunli cluelessly looked at YongGuk nodd. They stayed still for a minute or so. “What's happening ?”

YongGuk talked a bit with the doctor and took her hand. She felt nothing.

Her husband blushed and rested his hands on the device for a bit before sighing. No vibrations. At least not loud enough for Eunji to feel them. “I just wanted you to feel the heartbeat. We're listenning to it right now.”

She nodded. “Oh nevermind.”

She crossed eyes with the nurse. “Oh poor of her. She can't even listen to the sound of her baby.” The nurse whispered to the other nurse, not bothering covering to gossip.  Eunji felt deconcerted. They were looking at her as if she was unfit to be a mom. As if her unability to hear made her unable to be a good mom. She swallowed back her tears and when the nurse came to wipe her stomach, she smashed her hand away.  “I'll do it.”

YongGuk noticed her shift of attitude, not being able to understand it. Eunji looked smiley and so happy a few seconds ago.

As they entered a near-by , he looked at Eunji stare at the little photo. Due to the position, it was hard to say with certitude the of the babies but this news was really a nice one.  “Feel good ?” He asked to Eunji signing. She shrugged. “Two children at once … It's overwhelming.”

He helped her to get out of the car and they sat in a restaurant. “But you're going to have all the help of the world. My mom will be a good babysitter and she's a retraitee now she already told us she would help us.”

“Yeah she's an expert I guess.” Eunji said sincerely. YongGuk called his mom and announced the news to her, she almost cried out of joy. As he ended the call, their plate arrived.

“Genetics always win.” He signed to her, really proud.

Eunji let her ustensils fall on the table and stared at YongGuk. “Please don't say that.”

“Eunji now we're not starting back on that please. You out all the people here should not worry of that. You yelled at Daehyun when he freaked out that his child was not deaf. You of out the people should be fine with them being hard of hearing.”

“No you're wrong I seem to be the only one who care. If they are going to be deaf, hard of hearing of just hearing babies. Weither or not you like it, it matters. It's going to define a lot of things.”

“Eunji you're living just nice. Why do you worry so much ?”

Eunji looked at his clueless face and felt anger rise in her. He didn't understand her. “Whatever.”

“No tell me. I really don't understand how you can worry that much when you should be happy about the news and the babies.”

“How would you understand when you're just an hearing man ?!” She shouted with anger.

YongGuk widened his eyes at this sentence. He stormed out of the restaurant, anger filling his heart. She followed him, slow with her huge bump. She grabbed his hand and widened her eyes as he smashed her hand away from his. For a while he stared at the gold ring on her finger and felt his anger raise. “I'm sleeping at Hyung's tonight. Take a taxi back home.”

Eunji nodded tears b her eyes and looked at her perfect husband leave, brokenhearted. She tried to eat the soup he ordered for her, staring at the cooling down bowl of soup in front of him. After paying, she went outside, and heled a taxi. She was afraid. Of so much things. But it was almost impossible for her to voice it out.

She came back home and looked at Pilou greet her jumping on her. She hugged him for a long time, crying while hiding her head on his body. She went on the couch immediately, followed by Pilou. He sensed her bad mood, she was regretting her words. As she was crying on the couch, the door ringed and she ran to open it thinking that it was YongGuk. Her disappointement was shown on her face seeing the deliver guy.  “Jung Eunji ?”

She showed her ear to the guy and he handed her the paper, showing her where to sign.

She did as told and he handed her a box. She thanked him and came back in the living room to open it. She sobbed hard seeing the content of it. Her favourite chocolate was cherry liquor alcohol and about a month ago, they got into an argument,YongGuk told her to not eat that anymore because of the alcohol in there. It wasn't alarming but as she was eating half a box a day, it was becoming an issue between us.

“I went to a chocolate maker and he replaced the liquor with jelly. I hope you'll like it !! Congrats on your third month ! You're doing well so far my love !!! Your loving husband.”

Her shaking hand found a chocolate and threw the plastic wrap away before eating the chocolate. She chewed slowly trying to control her tears. Gosh, it was delicious. She cried on the couch. Until she passed out, tired of crying. She messed up everything.YongGuk was the man of her life, her longest relationship, first he was her friend, then boyfriend, then fiancée now husband and soon to be father of her children.

How could she hurt such an important man in her life ? Qualify him of being a hearing man, a person that does'nt understand her situation when it's been almost a decade they're been together. Making their differences an obtacle to their couple. She sobbed hard.

Differences didn't make people part away.

It's fooliness.

Sorry guys for not updating for those months. I'm trying to wrap up this rather quickly. The next chapter will be the last one, prepar yourself ;)
