He nervously twisted his fingers together as he waited in the emergency room of the hospital, his head snapping up every time someone walked passed him, hoping that it was her. Everything had happened so suddenly…

He had been impatiently waiting for his girlfriend to finish practice. He looked through the window leading into her dance studio, her instructor barking out advice at her. After making her run through her performance three more times, he finally let her finish. Jungkook bowed deeply as the instructor left the studio before he slipped into the studio, smiling brightly at her as she wiped away her sweat with a towel. “Kookie!” she said happily once she spotted him. “Hey, nuna.” He said as he walked towards her.

It should have been the easiest thing in the world to give her a hug and a kiss. Just open up his arms, wait until she was pressed against him, then wrap his arms around her then kiss her. They had hugged and kissed a million times before, it’s not like it was anything new. She stepped into his arms, letting out a content sigh at the comfort his presence gave her. She pulled away, ready for her after practice kiss. Jungkook felt a tingling in his nose. It was at this point that time seemed to slow down for him. He started to push her away, knowing that he was about to sneeze. Unfortunately, he wasn’t fast enough, his head flying forwards with the force of the sneeze.

She let out a yelp at the sudden contact to her face, the blood instantly draining from his face and leaking out of her nose instead. “N-nuna…” he said in horror as she looked up at him, red staining her nose and lips as the blood trickled down her face.

Fast forward to now, Jungkook sitting at the waiting room, his legs bouncing as he tried to contain his nervous energy. It felt like an eternity later when she finally appeared through the emergency room doors. He shot to his feet and rushed towards her, stopping a few feet away, terrified of hurting her again. “Nuna, are you ok?” he asked worriedly, wincing at the bandages that covered her nose. She gave him a smile, trying to hide the wince of pain from the simple action. “I’m alright Kookie.” She said soothingly.

He looked down at his feet. “I’m so sorry, nuna.” He said, his voice full of remorse. She chuckled at him as she stepped towards him. He tensed up, fighting the urge to step backwards. “Jeon Jungkook, you better hug me right now.” She said, pretending to be angry as she held her arms out to him. He slowly stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her. “I can’t believe you sneezed on me.” She muttered. Jungkook looked down at her, shock written on his face. “Sneezed on you? That’s what you’re worried about? Nuna, I thought I’d broken your nose!” he whined. She chuckled at him. “I’m surprised you didn’t with that thick head of yours.” She teased as she ruffled his hair affectionately. He pouted but didn’t complain as she linked their arms together and led them out of the hospital.
