"Tzuyu, has your mother returned from her trip?" Miss Sana asked one day, stopping Tzuyu as she packed her books into her bags.

"Oh, um, she had to extend it for another week." Tzuyu replied, slowly putting her things away to keep the conversation going.

Miss Sana hummed and patted her shoulder before returning to her desk, "Have a nice day Tzuyu." 

Tzuyu disappointingly muttered it back and left. Miss Sana was a teacher, asking about her parents was a normal teacher thing to do but she had desperately hoped that she was asking because she cared.

"Um, Tzuyu." Mina softly spoke, prompting Tzuyu to look up from her book with a hum. "Aunt Sana wanted me to invite you over for dinner." 

Tzuyu's hand began to shake and she quickly hid her hand beneath the desk.

Miss Sana wanted her over for dinner?

Then perhaps was that why she had asked about her mother earlier?

Did she care for Tzuyu? 

"She said she felt it would be inappropriate for her to ask herself." Mina explained. "I wouldn't mind having you over either."

"Sure." Tzuyu tried not to sound so breathless. She'd be spending time with Miss Sana after school. In her home. Having dinner. She had to play it cool.

"Great! We can head over after we're done." Mina smiled and looked back down to her textbook.

Meanwhile Tzuyu was trying to calm herself down and prepare herself for dinner.

She'd gotten used to seeing Miss Sana in class but seeing her at home would be entirely different. 

She had to remind herself that Mina would also be present so they wouldn't be entirely alone. 

Her heart was pounding as they walked closer and closer to Mina's home. They didn't talk much but that was normal for them. Occasionally Mina would point to something she found interesting, being a foreigner a lot of things intrigued her, and Tzuyu couldn't help but remember when she would also be amazed by the small things. Those moments were welcome distractions. But they were few and most of the journey was spent with Tzuyu internally screaming.

"Aunt Sana, we're here." Mina announced as they walked in through the door.

Tzuyu was naturally very tall but she couldn't help but feel small as she trailed behind Mina. Wishing for the millionth time that she could be smaller to hid behind her.

"Ah, just in time." Miss Sana grinned, "Dinners just about ready. Set the table Minari. Hello Tzuyu, make yourself at home."

Tzuyu was frozen at the sight of Miss Sana in a apron with her heels off. She still wore her hair up in the bun like she did at school but her clothes were changed to more casual comfy clothing. 

It was a beautiful sight.

"Is there anything I can help with." Tzuyu mumbled, twiddling her thumbs as Mina set the table and Miss Sana served the food onto a plate. 

"No no no, sit. You're a guest and you're probably tired from studying." Miss Sana waved towards the table, "Sit."

Tzuyu followed her instructions and made her way to the table. She awkwardly sat as Mina poured her some juice and Miss Sana set a plate in front of her. 

The two girls finally took their own seats, with Mina right beside Tzuyu and Miss Sana across from them. 

"Let's eat." Miss Sana grinned.

They dug into their food silently and Tzuyu almost moaned at how delicious it tasted. She hadn't expected Miss Sana to be the cooking type but the food tasted other worldly. 

"This is really good." Tzuyu muttered with a blush. 

Miss Sana smiled proudly, "Thank you."

"Aunt Sana is a really good cook." Mina stated. 

The dinner continued with discussions about classes and their friends. Tzuyu offered to do the dishes after but Miss Sana refused and Mina briefly dragged Tzuyu to her room to hang out.

"Tzuyu I'll drive you home." Miss Sana said as Tzuyu was bidding them goodbye.

"It's alright, I don't mind the walk." Tzuyu tried to reject.

"Nonsense, if I were your mother I wouldn't want you walking so late by yourself." Miss Sana grabbed her keys and Tzuyu had no time to argue as she was dragged to the car. 

Tzuyu whispered her address to Miss Sana as they drove and they spent the ride in silence. Tzuyu's nervousness returned as the car grew warmer. It was the first time they were alone outside of school, entirely by themselves. 

Tzuyu was disappointed when they arrived to her building. The distance was too bittersweet. 

"Tzuyu, I hope if there is anything you need, you'll come to me." Miss Sana said as she turned the car off. "It makes me sad to think that you return to an empty home. If you ever feel lonely, I'm sure Mina will have no qualms with having you stay the night." She said with earnest eyes.

Tzuyu was speechless, all she could do was nod and mutter thank you. 

"Oh and I'd love to have you over for dinner until your mother arrives." Miss Sana said making Tzuyu freeze as she went to open the door. "I'm sure you miss home cooked meals."

Tzuyu didn't want to tell Miss Sana that her mother had never made her a home cooked meal and that her meals usually consisted of low calorie foods and lots of vegetable. So she smiled gently and nodded instead. 

"Thank you for the ride Miss Sana. And dinner." Tzuyu bowed, and opened the door quickly. 

She'd exceeded her limit of calmness and needed to get upstairs to properly freak out.

"Goodnight Tzuyu." Miss Sana called out.

Tzuyu waved and all but ran into the building. She didn't relax until she closed the door behind her and slumped onto the floor while clutching her head. 

Had that really just happened?
