Soul mates 

It was a normal school day, as many students spilled into their classrooms. The popular kids stopped to talk, to mess around and pick on the unfortunate ones. Books scattered across the floor, as Zelo shoves book worm Youngjae to the floor again. He didn't really know why, but he loved to pick on the innocent book worm. Everyday in school he would trip, shove and humiliate the poor boy. Today will be is no different, as he smirks at Youngjae who tries his hardest not to cry. He never really understood why Zelo found so much fun in hurting him, he never done anything to the tall boy. Maybe it was because he was a nerd, maybe it was because his status as the most popular kid drove him to do it. Youngjae looks up at Zelo, frowning slightly when he saw his chest glowing where his heart is. It was glowing his favourite colour too, he looks away grabbing his books and runs off. Zelo laughs as Youngjae disappears around the corner, but he felt confused on why Youngjae's chest glowed blue. 
“Come on Zelo let's go to class” Jongup said patting his back
“Yeah I guess we should” Zelo replied 
The two friends headed off to class, Zelo thought about asking Jongup about it. As he is older than him, and more familiar to this event.

Later,

Youngjae is greeted by his mother, as he walks through the front door. She frowns at his sour face, as he walks into the kitchen. Flopping down on a seat, he slouched on the counter.
“My baby boy what's with the long face?” His mother asked worried
“Just a tough day...mum what does it mean when your chest glows?” Youngjae asked in a mumble
“That means my baby boy is no longer a baby he has found his soul mate...so who is the lucky lass?” His mother squealed happily
“Not a lass….a lad” Youngjae muttered 
“A lad? Oh right….so who is the lucky lad?” His mother asked shocked 
“Choi Junhong” Youngjae said twiddling his fingers
“That Choi Junhong? The one I saw with Soujin? Her son” His mother fished for information
“Yes” Youngjae replied quietly 
“So why do you look so bummed about it? He’s a pretty handsome boy” His mother said confused on his sulky attitude 
“Because Choi Junhong does nothing but beat me and treat me like dog muck….he bullies me mum” Youngjae confessed 
“He what?! Why didn't you tell me? Or the school? That's it honey get the car we’re going out come get your shoes on” His mother snapped angry
“Because you would react like this” Youngjae murmurs 
Youngjae follows his parents out of the house, and his mother gives his father the whole rundown of why they were driving to another student's house. He was wishing he never said anything now, as his parents got embarrassing when angry.
Junhong sat on his bed, and just thought about how he was going to get over the fact. That the nerdy book worm, he bullied and picked on was his soul mate. Junhong jumps at the sound of hammering on his door, it was suddenly swung open revealing my step mother angry. Youngjae was next to her, she gently pushes him into the room.
“You will sort it out and apologies to Youngjae for being so cruel to him while I go sort out his angry parents I can't believe you Junhong my best friends youngest son” his step mum orders 
Before slamming the door, Youngjae looks to the floor shyly. Junhong huffs out in annoyance, why did it have to be like this. 
“I'm sorry” Junhong said carelessly 
“No your not you don't care” Youngjae replied quietly 
“Your right I don't but if we're to be soul mate’s we have to work this out” Junhong said getting up
He grabs Youngjae and forced him to sit down, as he takes a seat next to him at the desk.
“Why do you treat me like I’m a bug on the ground?” Youngjae asked
“Do you remember when we were 5 you would always be the Damsel in distress and I was always the action hero who came to save you?” Junhong asked as he brought out the old picture book
“You still got the book?” Youngjae asked shocked
“We were always so close me and you I thought we would always be close” Junhong said said quietly
“I did too but you changed….you started hurting me” Youngjae said looking at him
“I never changed not really...it was you who changed...always putting your books and your homework first” Junhong retorts 
“I wanted a good chance in life with good grades and a good job is that a crime” Youngjae replied frowning
“I understand that Youngjae but why? Why weren't you there when I needed you most?” Junhong snapped tears forming 
“I was there” Youngjae replied with a frown
“No you weren't Youngjae no you weren't...when my mother fell ill I needed my best friend by my side but he wasn't there I needed my best friend to tell me it was going to be ok but he wouldn't and when she finally died...I needed my best friend yet he never answered my calls….I needed you Youngjae I needed you more than ever then but you never cared...I miss you Youngjae I have always missed you but I...I never showed it” Junhong broke down.
“I….I’m sorry I’m so sorry...I should have been there for you Junhong I regret it so much I’m sorry” Youngjae said tears falling 
He pulls Junhong into a hug, he remembered how he did Junhong wrong. His ex best friend lost his mother to a terrible accident, and Youngjae cowardly hid away instead of being there for Junhong. They were both only 13 when she fell ill, and 16 when she passed away. Youngjae knew better than to desert Junhong, yet that's exactly what he did. Junhong pulls away from Youngjae, wiping his eyes he looks to his ex best friend. 
“I'm sorry that I picked on you in school but I just...I just wanted you to suffer the way I did...I was wrong” Junhong confessed 
“No...I’m the one who is sorry...I understand why now...I deserved it...forgiveness I don't deserve it” Youngjae said shaking his head 
“No you don't but….but I can't lose you...not now and not ever…..so Youngjae no matter what happens from now on we have to stay together” Junhong said softly
“But Junhong there is so much hurt between us...how will we work it out?” Youngjae asked quietly 
“Together….because I have hurt you and you have hurt me but I….I still have love for you...Youngjae together I promise” Junhong replied 
He softly takes a hold of Youngjae's hand, before lifting it to his lips. Pressing a kiss to the top of it, before pulling Youngjae into a hug.
“It will take time JaeJae but I know we can get back to us...and more” Junhong said quietly
Youngjae blushes at the sudden use of his pet name, Junhong use to call him that when they were friends.
“Ok Junhongie let's work it out...together” Youngjae murmurs softly
“JaeJae please….please don't leave me again” Junhong murmured almost feebly
“Never” Youngjae replied
The friendship they lost years ago, was on the lines of being cured. It was broken between them, yet the fate of their hearts brought them back together. Junhong held Youngjae close to his chest, and he promised himself that. He will not let Youngjae walk out of his life again, and Youngjae promised not to let Junhong ever feel abandoned by him again. There was so much to be fixed, but the friendship lost is worth it. They're future together is worth it.
