Chapter 3

Hanbin sleeps soundless until the next day and Bobby rests beside him. They sleep until late morning since they lacked sleep already for the past days. Bobby just woke up from his back hurting due to the strange sleeping position when Wei and Xiao enter their room.

Wei and Xiao met early to discuss about Hanbins condition and contacted their colleagues from the hospital in Seoul and want to know if Bobby talked already with Hanbin and if they decided to keep or abort the baby.

Bobby hears the door open and lifts his head still half asleep. He blinks his eyes and rubs his face when he focuses and sees the doctors stand in the room. Bobby jumps up from the chair and bows polity while he wipes away his drool from sleeping. “Good ...good morning.” Wei and Xiao lips build a slight smile. “Good morning.” They say that in sync while Wei heads to Hanbin and looks at his data then mutters. “Did he throw up today? Was he able to use the restroom?” Bobby looks at Wei and shakes his head. “Not today...but he threw up yesterday night but he slept since then.” Wei nods and puts down some notes as she continues to ask Bobby. “Did your guardian contact you yet? He was here together with your team members. I send them home since I wanted Hanbin to rest but I think you should call him. I bet he is worried.” Bobby brushes through his hair, by the thought to tell him what's wrong with Hanbin, his head hurts. Most probably will he faint, then will he scold him and afterwards he will cry in happiness. Yet again Bobby can only guess that, he has no idea how he will really react, let alone how the others will react. Wei notices Bobby's concerned expression and sighs. “Call him and tell him to come in about an hour, I will talk to him and explain it to him. But let me ask this first, does he know from your relationship?” Bobby sighs a little relieved then nods. “He found out not too long ago, our members know it too.” Wei nods. “This will make it a bit easier at least.” Xiao smiles glad that he doesn't have to do the talk. Bobby excuses himself and calls his manager and tell him to come. Yunhyuk sighs relieved to hear from Bobby and tells him after they finished the schedule they will come to the hospital immediately. Bobby hangs up and goes back inside when Hanbin wakes up from the noise. He ruffles the bedsheets and opens his eyes slowly. Bobby leans to him and smiles gentle. “Hanbin-ah?” Hanbin yawns. Bobby looks flustered. “Sorry, did we wake you up?” Hanbin shakes his head and sighs still sleepy. “Mhm...I was already half awake.” Hanbin looks at Bobby then turns his head to Wei and Xiao. “Good morning.” He bows his head slightly towards the doctors. Bobby talks gentle. “Did you sleep well?” Hanbin nods then lowers his eyes to his belly and as if it would be the most usual thing to do, he looks at his stomach and puts his hand on his belly as if he wants to say good morning to the baby too. Wei and Xiao notice his reaction and smirk then look at Bobby. Bobby smiles himself, looking at Hanbin. Wei sighs and looks at Hanbin. “Mr. Kim -” Hanbin looks at her but let his hand rest on his stomach. Bobby turns to her too and Wei continues. “Did Bobby-ssi inform you about the condition you are in?” Hanbin nods and looks at Bobby. Bobby nods his head and grabs Hanbins hand. “I told him what you said to me.” Wei nods then looks at her folder and put again her serious voice on. “Mr. Kim, I am sorry but I need to ask you, if you decided to keep the baby or if you want to abort it.” Hanbin almost shivers form the thought to lose the baby. He sits up and turns to the doctors then answers without hesitation. “I want to keep the baby.” He holds Bobby's hand tighter while he caresses his stomach with his other hand. Bobby gentle Hanbins back when Wei sighs and looks at Hanbin. “Mr. Kim you know that this is something still really risky. This pregnancy may be similar to the one of women but please don't forget that your body is still male, it may problems occur that my put either your life or the one form your baby on the line.” Bobby stops Hanbin and holds on to Hanbins hand, then looks at Wei. Hanbin shuts his eyes and holds Bobby's hand tighter. He shakes his head and smiles. His English isn't good but he knows exactly what he wants to say. “To be honest I am already scared enough but I can't help it... I want the baby, even if it means this. I am confident that me and the baby will be alright. I don't care if this is insane, but I want to have the baby.” Bobby looks at Wei and Xiao and sounds serve. “Whatever lays in my power I will do anything to protect my family.” Xiao smiles and sighs. “Well then I think the scary part of this conversation is done. Don't you think Wei?” Xiao smiles and turns to Hanbin. “We are sorry, but it is our job to inform you about the worst case scenarios, especially when it is such a special situation.” Hanbin lowers his eyes and nods somewhat understanding. Bobby looks at Xiao as if he wants to say thank you for his words and bows his head almost invisibly. Xiao bows and turns to Wei. “Then let's look at the baby. Right?” He turns back to Hanbin. “I think you haven't seen it yet.” Hanbin looks up and his eyes start to sparkle. Bobby smiles and Xiao grins. “Ms. Xing?” Wei already preparing the machine turns to Hanbin and smiles. “Mr. Kim, could you lift your shirt, so I can apply the gel on your skin.” Hanbin looks jittery and leans back and pulls away the sheets. “Of course.” Bobby chuckles seeing Hanbin so excite.d. “Yah, don't be so nervous.” Hanbin looks pouty at Bobby while Wei applies the gel and transducer. Hanbin frowns when the cool tool touches his skin but turns then to Bobby. “You already saw, sorry if I am excited and nervous.” Bobby smiles and points at the screen then you should look at it. Hanbin turns his head and looks at the screen. Wei moves the tool and then stops. “This is the head, it is still really tiny so you can't clearly see it yet, but it grows well.” Hanbin freezes and his heart starts beating faster. He laughs confused when Wei already the sound of their baby's heart. “I think my heart just jumped out of my chest I can hear it beat.” Bobby laughs and leans down next to Hanbin. He sounds soft yet jokingly. “Pabo-ah, that our baby's heartbeat.” Hanbin looks at Bobby then back to the screen and listens carefully. Wei turns on the sound a bit louder and moves the tool to show Hanbin the moving heart. “...this is the heart.” Hanbin gasps and he can't help his tears falling down as soon as he hears the heartbeat. He turns to Bobby and Bobby smiles at him. “Isn't this amazing,right?” Hanbin nods absent minded only focused on the picture of their baby on the screen. Wei smiles and holds the transducer a bit longer before she take it away and let Hanbin cover his body again. Hanbin still unable to hold back his tears pats his belly and smiles. Bobby stand next to him and Hanbin rests his shoulder against Bobby and intertwines their fingers above Hanbins stomach resting their hands on it. Xiao and Wei look at them and wait until Hanbin calmed down then continues to talk about the important things and further steps. “We talked with our colleagues in Seoul and a very good friend of mine works at the hospital and I told him about your condition. His name is Lee Ryo. He said that he will, if you agree with it, guide you through the pregnancy. Me and Xiao also talked with our superior in case you ask for us we would be able to come to Seoul. Bobby and Hanbin look at Wei and Xiao grateful when Bobby frowns and asks concerned. “Is it alright for him to fly? I heard flying isn't a good idea when you are pregnant.” Xiao and Wei nod and Wei turns to Hanbin to explain. “The flight form here to Seoul will only take a few hours. As your condition is stable and the baby is fine, you can casually fly. Yet we like to let you stay for one more day to make sure, but except from that, there won't be anything to be concerned about. You are healthy and so is your baby. The bleeding was simply an overreaction of your hormones and the change your body has to go through. Considering that you most probably worked out too was a bit too much, I know it is hard in your business but for the time being you should not strain your body.” Hanbin nods and touches his stomach then turns to Bobby. He thinks about their rehearsal when he suddenly remembers the others. He widens his eyes. “Do ….do the others know yet?” He totally forgot about them. Bobby shakes his head. “No, but they should come soon, I told them to come since doctor Xing said, she had to send them home yesterday.” Hanbin sighs and whispers worried. “I hope they will understand.” Bobby pats Hanbins shoulder and assures him together with Wei and Xiao that they will in time. Hanbin shuts his eyes and takes a deep breath then nods his head and looks at Bobby. “I bet Yunhyuk will faint.” Bobby laughs and looks at Hanbin. “That's what I am concerned about the most.” Hanbin chuckles and sighs. Wei and Xiao excuse themselves since they have to check on other patients too but assure them when Yunhyuk comes she will talk to him.

A more hours passes and Hanbin already fell asleep again after throwing up the breakfast he just ate, while Bobby watches over him when Yunhyuk and the boys come to the hospital. Bobby leaves the room to go see Wei. Bobby and the others wait outside and Bobby explains it to the boys while she is in the office and informs Yunhyuk.

After a lot of questions and a slight panic attack form Yunhyuk later, they somewhat understand the situation and finally visit Hanbin. Hanbin and Bobby show them the ultrasound picture and Wei let them hear the recorded heartbeat again. After the first shock sank in Chanwoo as well as Donghyuk immediately start to search for baby names on the internet while Jinhwan and June start to fight over who will be the godfather and Yunhyeong already plans the baby outfits. Hanbin taken totally by surprise from their reaction and overwhelmed with feelings, starts to cry. The stress and the worries, seem as if they were shared between the seven members and he feels so thankful that he just can't control his emotions. Bobby just too well can understand Hanbin and holds him in his arms to calm him down when all the other members join them. They hug each other so tight to the point where Bobby starts to shove them away worried they will squeeze him and the baby.
Yunhyuk changes their schedules and tries to settle himself before they fly back to Korea since he can't avoid to talk to Yang Hyunsuk about the sudden change of plans.

Hanbin stays in the hospital for another two more days, not because of his condition but simply because it leaked that Hanbin fainted and the hotel is packed with paparazzi. Once Yunhyuk booked the flight tickets iKON heads back to Seoul. Bobby stays by Hanbins side through the whole time until they arrive at home.

Right the next day, they went home, Hanbin and Bobby head together with Yunhyuk to the hospital to meet with doctor Lee Ryo. They talk with him and as doctor Wei Xing said, Lee Ryo is a really capable and promising doctor and Hanbin, even though he was worried at first, is glad that he is his new medical specialist. They decide on the times when they will meet next and Hanbin gets a few folders to read and inform himself about as well as Bobby. Once they cleared everything they leave the hospital to go see Yang Hyunsuk and talk to him. When he hears about he has to try to understand what they even try to tell him at first. For the following two hours he still thinks they are fooling him but after Hanbin and Bobby convinced him that they are really dating and explain Hanbins condition again, Hyunsuk first reaction was that Hanbin is still too young to be a parent and that their comeback must be delayed. Furthermore must they think of an way to arrange the planed schedules so Hanbin won't overwork himself any longer. Yunhyuk and Hyunsuk discuss the things together with Hanbin until they have a rough draft of the upcoming weeks. Giving Hanbin enough time to rest and visit the hospital together with Bobby. The next one to inform about Hanbins condition since they won't be able to avoid that is Hanbins family and Bobby's. Bobby's mum, actually was the easiest to talk to including Bobby's father and brother, since they are happy as long as Bobby is happy.

Since Hanbins family currently visits their relatives, they can't get in touch with them immediately.

But a week later Hanbin and Bobby arrange a meeting with his mum. Bobby and Hanbin head to the hospital for Hanbins weekly check-ups then ride to the office to work on the lyrics for the song. Yet since Bobby is overly protective, he doesn't let Hanbin work more than 3 hours. Hanbin at first tried to protest against it but after Bobby insisted on that condition he gave in eventually. They finish their work early so they can meet Hanbins mother at their home while the other members are still in the studio.

Hanbins mother and Hanbyul come to visit and after hearing the reason why they wanted to met her, she is at first shocked. Including the fact, that just now she heard that her son is gay. After letting them explain everything, she takes Hanbyul and just leaves the room and settled her mind. Bobby and Hanbin worried for her nervously to come back. She takes her time but after trying to understand everything, she can't help but share the happiness with them and welcomes the miracle. She instantly starts to tell him tricks she learned when she was pregnant with Hanbin and Hanbyul and they continue to chat until Hanbins mum needs to go back home because Hanbyul gets tired and needs to go to bed. They see her off then go back into the living room and drop on the sofa. They are relieved after talking to everyone and can feel a little more relaxed now.
