Luhan was the prince of Joseon. He was the first son and the heir to the throne. But politics and governing were not things that he wanted to do. He was a talented poet and writer. Since he was young, he spent more time in the library reading and in his room writing whereas his little brother, Sehun, was more into fighting and playing with bow and arrows. If either of them had to be a king, it would be Sehun who suited that role better. But the King wanted Luhan, as the firstborn, to inherit the throne.

“Father, I’m sure you have seen, but I am not worthy to take this place after you.”

“Son, don’t you believe in yourself?”

“I just think Sehun may be a better fit for a king.”

“But Luhan, you must follow the tradition. The throne is yours. For now, I’ll give you some time to think about it. You must make the decision once you are twenty years old.”

“Yes, Father.”

         Soon, he was turning twenty and had to make a decision. Well, he wasn’t given much choice. He had to obey and agree to be the next king. But that was just pushed off until it was time. He still was reluctant to take the position.

         Filled with worries, he often took walks to get refreshed and clear his mind. Some times, he walked for hours around the different towns. With his hat, nobody recognized the prince. And he usually preferred night walks. The empty streets. The cold air. The silence. The moonlight and countless stars. Just being out at this time was his favorite thing. But one day, his footsteps took him too far. He was at an unfamiliar but familiar place. And as he turned his steps to return home, he saw a girl and a man. And the scene triggered his memory. A painful memory that he held onto because although it was painful, it was also beautiful. His heart leaped when he saw those same eyes. But at the same time, the eyes were still filled with fear. He couldn't stay away.  

         Now they are together, walking through this flower garden. He didn’t know what he was thinking, but he wanted to protect her and keep her by his side. But now that she was by his side, he was scared that she was going to leave again. He didn’t want to force her to stay, but he knew that it would be best for her to stay here where she could be safe.

“How do you like it here?” he carefully asked her.

“It’s beautiful. I’ve never seen so much flowers in my life,” she said, but still without a smile.

He was glad that she was actually replying to his question and that she was enjoying it here.

After walking through the garden, they returned to their rooms. Luhan was pleased that she was opening up little by little. And maybe, soon, she will remember him and their lost memories.
