Chapter Three

All Zico could do was stare at him. This boy was singing the song he wrote. He has the voice of an angel. Well he never heard an angel sing but if he did, he was sure that it would sound exactly like that. Then he started to rap the part that comes in the middle of the song. What he did was better than what he thought. Well…he never had a chance to put together the beats and stuff but whatever he was going to do he liked Taeil’s version more. He made it a ballad and it was very sensational. He was looking like he was enjoying himself and I couldn’t help but smile. When he finally finished he turned his head in my direction. “Oh.” He blushed and looked away. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to sing your song and ruin it. I couldn’t help it. It was amazing. You have an amazing talent.” Zico got up and went right in front of him. “No, Taeil. That was simply amazing. I still have chills from hearing you. You, my friend, have a gift. I really like your voice.” He looked shocked at what he was hearing.” Really? I have never sung in front of anyone before. I always wanted to but I get really nervous and worried people will judge me. Mom doesn’t let me sing at home.  I like to study music but I’m scared to tell her.” I smiled at him. “Well. We will just have to change that now won’t we?” Before he could answer, his phone started to ring. He excused himself and walked over to the corner. “Yes mom? I know but-“ Taeil didn’t finished his sentence. “Mom. I’m at a friends house…” He said quietly. He started to look stressed. “Mommm” He groaned. “No ma’am it was not… alright… I’ll let him know. I know…. I love you to mom… bye.” Taeil sat down on the bed and sighed. “What is it?” Zico asked him. “My mom want you to come over to dinner tomorrow at 6. Will that be okay?”

“Yeah it’s cool. I’m sure my mom will probably throw me out the door once she finds out I was invited to your house.” Taeil giggled at that. “She told me to just stay the night because she don’t want me to send the driver out this late.” He looks down at his clothes. “Oh, I got to give your sweater back to you.” He got ready to take it off but I put my hands on his arm to stop him. “It’s fine. You can keep it. I don’t want your mom to see your dirty clothes when you go back in the morning.” He gave me a small nod. “It’s about time we head to bed. It’s getting really late.” Zico climb into bed while Taeil stood around timidly. Zico patted the spot next to him. “It’s alright. I won’t bite.” He told him. Taeil started to move slowly over to the bed and got in next to him. “Goodnight.” Zico said as he his side putting his back towards Taeil. “We should sing together sometimes.” Taeil whispered. Zico glanced over at him and saw that he was fast asleep. “Sure.” He said softly. “I would like to.”

Stretching, Zico rolled over and fell off the bed. “Oww.” He looked around but he didn’t see Taeil anywhere. He got dressed and was about to walk out the door when he noticed a blue sticky note attached to the doorknob. He picked it up and looked over it. Zico, I’m sorry but I had to leave early. I wanted to walk to school with you but I guess we can do that another time.  See you in class.  He placed the note on his dresser. HE went into the kitchen to make sure he grabbed him some food this time. He has been to school without anything to eat for two days. He can’t really complain since his mom has started to work.  That was the first time he shared a bed with a guy. Strangely enough, he wasn’t weirded out as much as he thought he would be. Today he will be learning to control his power. He was ready. She said that she could teach him in one day. He doesn’t know how long it’s going to take but he hoped that he would be able to make to dinner with Taeil. He doesn’t know why but he was looking for to it. Before walking out he noticed a box on the table that was addressed to him. There was a note attached to it. Here is a present for you sweety. I was excited that you have a new friend so I thought how would you stay in touch? Hope you like it. I love you Zi Zi! She did not buy what I think she did. Opening the box, sure enough, there was a brand new IPhone just sitting there. On the inside there was another note. P.s I have one to! Here is my number. Save it!  Zico couldn’t help but chuckle. She is really trying her best to be normal. I don’t want to disappoint her. Maybe I should take a page from her book and give things a try. He glanced up at the clock. Shoot!, He thought. He better hurry up before he ends up being late. Slipping the phone in his pocket, he rushed out the door.

Making it in just in time. He headed towards his desk. Not long after he sat down, he had everyone rushing to his desk. They were all talking at once that he couldn’t understand what they were saying. “I can’t believe you actually did that!” One girl exclaimed. I think her name was Ariel? “Yeah! You’re amazing dude!” A boy chimed in. His name is …Joe I think. “Wha-what are you talking about?” A girl I didn’t know pulled her phone out. “This!” She clicked on a video. Gasping, All Zico could was stare at the phone. It was of him fighting those guys who were bullying Taeil. How? He was sure no one was outside when that happened. “Dude, it’s spreading all over the school that the new kids took out three people at once to protect Taeil. Everyone is dying to meet you!” Joe said. Everyone was nodding to what he said. They all were talking at once again. Zico didn’t know what to say. All he could do was stare at them. “How’d did you do it?” Ariel asked him excitedly. He didn’t know what to tell them. No, it’s not that he didn’t know what to say. It was WHAT he couldn’t say. How can he tell them what he was? He was sure that if he did, all those smiling faces would soon turn to a face of disgust and terror. He glanced over at Taeil. He was sure that he was wondering the same thing.  At that moment, the teacher walked in. “Everyone go to their seats.” Zico sunk back into his seat. Save by the teacher. While waiting for them to be seated, he put a piece up paper up on the board. When everyone was seated, the teacher cleared his throat. “Class. In four weeks, we will be having a talent show.” The whole room began to buzz with excitement. “It’s not mandatory but you can participate in it if you want to. If you would like to participate, the sign up sheet is on the board. If you are planning to be in a group please tell so when you out your name.” Immediately, almost all the girls went up there to put their names up and a few boys went up there as well. I glance over at Taeil. He wasn’t paying it any attention. I can’t believe what I’m about to do. I slowly got up and headed towards to board. I am telling you. Everyone in that room held their breaths.

After I sat down, the teacher waited a few more minutes before taking the paper off the board. He started to call
