Namjoo grew up with only her mom around and she was too busy with work that she usually just says yes to anything Namjoo says and asks—even if it wasn't a yes-no question.
She grew up, with the lack of parents' love, with only books and Hayoung, a childhood neighbor she met in kindergarten, by her side that it almost makes her want to cry every night when she knew that her only friend was moving houses.
Then it happened, the first day of 5th grade, she met a boy. Someone who'd glare at you and tend to look like he'll bully you, but the moment you talk to him you'd realize that he's just a spoiled, mischievous little kid. It was Sanghyuk, a seatmate she became friends with.
They would pull little pranks together, and get away with it. They would eat together and share what's in their lunchboxes whether it'd be sandwiches, pastries or even vegetables—which they probably really don't eat and would just feed the rabbits in the school garden. They would study at the library together and be shushed by the most sensitive librarian, who honestly was fun to tease, as they say. They were kids who enjoyed childhood to the fullest and yet would still end up getting good grades.
Surprisingly enough, Namjoo thought it was fate that brought them together. They became classmates all throughout middle school and got closer. Because of this, they started developing feelings for each other that they didn't understand until they reach the first year of high school.
It was Sanghyuk who confessed first, and she followed. She accepted him well and thought it was okay to start getting to know more of him through this dating relationship. He got known to have a mishievous, bad boy image, and her as the innocent A+ student.
