Few weeks later:

“Is there anything I can get you, haraobji?” Byul asked looking at her grandfather

“It’s fine Cheonsa” haraboji said as Byul nodded smiling

“I’ll be back…I need to get some medicines for haraboji and get some needs for home” Byul said looking at the nurse

“Neh Byul-ah” the nurse nodded

“Take good care of my haraboji, Song ajhumma” she said smiling as the nurse nodded bowing at her

“Bye haraboji” she smiled waving at her grandfather.

Byul walked into the mart as she looked at the list of the things she needed. She walked around putting things in her cart when she remembered the shopping she did with Mingyu and smiled to herself

AN HOUR LATER:

Byul waited to check out her things at the reception

“Khamsandmidah” she said taking the stuff and walked out after paying at the reception

“I’m so hungry…maybe I’ll make some kimchi pancakes for me and haraboji” she muttered as she looked at the ring on her finger as she remembered the incident the night before

THE NIGHT BEFORE:

“Haraboji, did you call for me?” Byul asked walking to the room and sat beside her grandfather

“Oh Byul-ah…haraboji has something to tell you” he smiled

“Was it that important that you had to interrupt my cooking?” she asked chuckling a bit

“Aigoo, such a responsible grand-daughter” haraobji chuckled

“Can you bring that box from that drawer over there?” haraobji said pointing somewhere

Byul shifted her gaze at the drawers and stood up

“Sure” she said happily as she took out the red box

“What is this haraboji? A gift for me?” she asked excitedly sitting beside her grandfather

Her grandfather gently held her hand and smiled

“I have never seen a stronger girl than you” haraboji smiled

“Of course, I am so strong” Byul smiled proudly

“Always be strong” haraboji smiled as Byul nodded

“This…ring” haraboji said handing the box to Byul

“Didn’t this belong to harmoni?” Byul asked as haraboji nodded

“And this belong to me” haraboji said pointing at the other ring
“Haraboji” Byul muttered

“I want you and Mingyu to have it” haraboji said

“Haraboji, I can’t accept this—”

“It’s my last gift for you…this is what brought me and your harmoni together…we were even there for each other when she died. So I hope this ring can bring the same love for you and Mingyu” Haraboji smiled as Byul grabbed his hand

“Haraboji” she muttered her tears threatening to fall

“Uljima, you just promised to be a strong girl” haraboji smiled

“Haraboji, don’t talk like that…” Byul said crying

“Saranghae haraboji” Byul cried as a tear escaped haraboji’s eye

Byul walked towards home when her phone rang

“Neh yobosaeyo?” Byul answered the call

“Byul-ah” Song ajhumma on the other line said.

Byul felt her tears flow as she halted a cab

“To Seoul Healthcare Hospital” she said
